He even suggested a Fruit Cocktail tree that I've never heard of its so cool it blooms lemon, limes , oranges & grapefruits? I will only believe this with my own two eyes. Buyer beware. If you purchase an item the owner doesn't stock it requires you to pay in full in advance (sight unseen). At that point the nightmare begins. I can assure you, despite the very pleasant manner at the other end of the phone, you will get screwed. After 3 trips, 80 mile round trips each, I returned the obvious 10 gallon size orange tree that was in a 30 gallon pot. The spindly, small diameter trunk, sickly, broke branch tree was a joke. The owner needs to have a stenographer at his side to keep up with his lies. The appearance of the nursery is indicative of the owner's customer care. It looks like a run down/nasty version of what might have been a decent place at one time. The photos on the Yelp or nursery site do not, for the most part, depict the place I saw on multiple trips, Feb and March 2019, to Coleman Nursery. Again, BUYER BEWARE. read more

I have visited most of the nurseries in the area in search of a new shade tree for my backyard. I wanted a relatively fast growing tree, but did not want the ordinary oak, maple, or elm. Mia was quick to assist me, asking me what my preferences were then led me to several unique selections. All the trees appeared healthy and of reasonable size. She suggested that I google each tree to see what the mature tree with blooms looked like so I would have an idea of how it would enhance the yard. She was knowledgeable on the inventory and the care of each plant. She was also was helpful in determining the reason for the decline of the tree that I was replacing. Prices were reasonable and the overall value of the experience was definitely greater than what I have experienced anywhere else. Very helpful, very professional. It's a small family-owned and operated nursery; but, they have a good selection of plant materials. I came in for a Desert Cassia; and, ended up with two Tibuchina Trees! The Tibuchinas are one of my favorite plants, with deep, lush foliage and beautiful purple blooms. I love this plant nursery.!!! Everytime I've gone in they always have what im looking for. Coleman is always super sweet to my mother and I. Coleman staff is always super knowledgeable and helpful with everything.I have bought many many plants and treed from this nursery. I've never had a plat that dies from here. His prices are more than fair and the place is always nicely organized and clean. Coleman has even brought me plants to my house and planted them for me and properly made sure with my tree that it was properly placed on my property line per our property survey. I was extremely disappointed in dealing with Coleman's Nursery. I specifically ordered a "UF Best" peach tree, which requires only 100 chill hours, and instead they sent me a "FL Prince" peach tree which requires 150 chill hours in order to produce fruit. I live in climate zone 10A where the tree may not get the required 150 chill hours. Over the phone Mr. Coleman told me that he would "Make it right". He did nothing to "Make it right". When I disputed the charge of $106.50 ($60.00 for the tree and $40.00 for shipping plus tax) to the credit card company, Mr Coleman lied to the credit card company and claimed that I did not specify any particular variety of peach tree. read more

We had a very bad experience with Coleman Nursery related to some plants we purchased and had them plant for us on a hillside for erosion control last fall. Almost all have died (125 plants for around $15 each) even though similar ones I purchased from Lowe's for $1 each on clearance and planted myself seem to be doing fine. We watered them similarly - if anything I took better care of the Coleman plants because I had much more invested in those. Also, Coleman's warranty is 50% of the cost of the plant. But, because the plants looked completed brown when planted and I was concerned about how they looked, I received an email stating they would waive the 50% limitation. I told them about the email (including the date and time of the email that was sent to me) and they still claimed that they never waived any such limitation. They said: "our warranty on plants is 50% of the original price and i never once stated that I would waive that." I now have sent them the entire text of the email which I still have in my files which clearly states as follows: "Yes, we will provide you with a 1 year warranty on the grasses. Usually the warranty only cover 50% of the cost of the plant but we will wave [sic] that." I am not sure what, if anything they will do to compensate for the dead plants, but I wanted to make you aware of my experience with them. I had a great experience at Coleman's Nursery. I was looking for a hard to find plant and I stopped by there on my way to work one day. They were able to order the plant for me. When it arrived, it was larger than I expected and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get it in my house. One of the workers actually came to my house to make sure I could get it out of my car. We had an excellent experience with Coleman's Nursery. Bought a triple-stemmed Adonidia Palm in person. Very good quality palms there for less that Home Depot or Lowes, and the discount stores didn't have any in stock. They were not sure when they could deliver it, but by the time we got home, they were calling saying they were on their way. Tree was installed in a very short time, and the delivery guys took pains to make sure it was exactly as we wanted it. I would say this nursery is not for the "casual" gardener. Plants are not lined up in neat little rows, and some are not marked well. However, if you are a landscaper or a serious gardener, this place is excellent. There are many very large specimens of plants and trees that you can't find elsewhere, and they are all very healthy and I think reasonably-priced. We recommend going there to look at their selection and to buy in person. read more

Nice experience with the folks at Coleman's this week. On our first visit, they were closed, as they are on Mondays. We should have checked when we checked out the reviews on Yelp! When we went back on Tuesday, we met the owner Walter. He told us what he had, and we wandered through the large assortment of trees, plants and flowers, looking for the two things we needed. Walter identified the color of azalea we needed, and offered to bring in more azaleas and more of the ligustrum we also needed. We went back on Wednesday, and while Walter was bringing us two amazing ligustrum plants, Mike was helping us gather some azaleas. They were both so easy to work with, and willing to find us other plants for our yard project. Walter knows plants, and recommended that we wait a bit on haliconias till risk of freezing has passed by for the year. We will be back for those next time. Their shop is easy to find. Our project included replacement plants for a hedge and new flowering plants for smaller garden areas. We noticed a nice assortment of fruit trees as well! I stopped by here to find some various plants and walked around for a few minutes. I could tell very little about what they had because most of the items were cut back and had no signs nor prices not to mention not a soul in sight. I finally decided to go inside of what I guess you would call a building... It was a dump! There was no one to be found, until I spotted two eyes peering at me from behind a divider. It was a gentleman laying on a couch who had seen me, but did not say anything. I had to ask if he worked here and he mumbled something... I said no worries and walked out. I will not be back. Their sign says they will beat the price of any big box store, and now I know why. read more

I have been a regular customer of Colemans Nursery for over a year now and never had a problem with the staff or quality of the material. If I needed a plant they didn't have they would order it in no problem. The owner Mr. Colemans is very knowledgeable when it comes to finding out what's wrong with your plants or tree's. I called to ask about a specific plant. The owner said he only had one in stock but could order more. He said he would be placing the orders on Tuesday. I said I would stop by Monday and take a look at the plant and if needed place an order. The owner said ok. I drove 30 minutes to get there on Monday and the store was closed. I called the owner and he said "oh ya we are closed I really should update the website because people keep calling on Monday." He said he would be there first thing on Tuesday so I said I would try to come by. I stopped by Tuesday morning and he was not there. The store was open but the guy working did not know anything about the plants. Eventually I got the owner on the phone and he said call me if you want to place an order. I called him back later that day and he said if I wanted him to order I would have to "put some skin in the game". I said I would be happy to pay upfront and he agreed to place the order and call me back. I never heard back and my calls went to voicemail after that. Overall impression: Nursery was very disorganized, lots of white flies buzzing around, staff unhelpful, owner does not follow through on promises.
