STAY AWAY FROM COLEMAN FLORISTS in Pacific.
My mother-in-law and I met with Beth (floral designer) and Katie (owner) from Coleman Florists and paid up front for the flowers that we would receive for the wedding. This meeting was on July 29, for a December 9 wedding.
Five days before the wedding I was contacted by Beth letting me know that some of the flowers that I had picked out were unavailable because they were out of season (Dahlias). Had they told me this in July, it wouldn't have been a big deal because I would have had time to find something else I liked. In addition, Beth asked me if I had ordered the hops that were supposed to be used in the boutonnieres or if Katie was supposed to have ordered them. When we met for our consultation, I was told that Katie would order them. Beth then told me that she would speak with Katie and get back to me. The next day I called the shop and spoke with Katie, who told me that she had ordered some flowers that looked similar to the Dahlias I had asked for AND PAID FOR in the beginning, which would be used in my bouquet as a replacement. The day of the wedding these were nowhere to be found in the flowers.
I then asked Katie about the hops which were supposed to be used in the boutonnieres and she informed me that she could get them, but it would cost me an additional $500.00 on top of what we had been originally quoted and already paid for, or we could use silk ones. I was not please about using silk, as I had paid for real flowers, but 4 days before the wedding this was my only option. (And who saves $500 in their wedding budget for flowers you think have already been paid for?!?!)
When the flowers arrived at the wedding, the corsages for the mothers were top heavy and falling apart and could not be worn. The flower girl's bouquet was supposed to be a mini replica of mine and when we got it, it was a few white roses tied together and in no way resembled mine, nor was it what we paid for. We ordered 3 extra corsages for my bridal attendant and hair/makeup crew, that did not match the others and were white roses stuck together and were pin corsages instead of wrist like we had asked for.
I was deceived and not provided the product which had been agreed upon, discussed, or paid for. This business was awful to work with and provided a product that did not live up to our agreement. I went to Coleman 3 days before the wedding & was informed by Beth that the reason we couldn't get the right flowers is because they had been focused on their holiday open house instead of the wedding flowers and didn't order them in time. Beth also agreed that we should not have had to pay extra for the fresh hops that were originally agreed upon under the quoted price which was paid up front. I have now contacted Coleman's in order to find some sort of resolution to the issues (refund of some sort) and Katie is now unavailable according to the staff. (I have filed a formal complaint with the BBB.)
If looking for someone reliable and easy to work with, I highly recommend going somewhere OTHER THAN Coleman Florists... no bride should be dealing with that 4 days before their wedding, when they were given 19 weeks to prepare. NINETEEN. What a nightmare. read more
