Comfy yes, but Convenient? No…read more The Woodlands Resort has so much potential of being a perfect staycation upon driving unto the grounds, but from check in, slowly but surely, you see the extravagant smoke and mirrors of inconvenience that envelops this place. Just checking in is a hassle. Although they advertise in their welcome paraphenanlia that carts are available to take you from the visitor lot to the hotel from 12 to 5, the carts were parked and no one around to drive them. Note- the lot in front of the hotel where you check in is not for overnight parking- you will be towed! After driving around the lot twice, I pulled up and asked the conceirge if I could drop my luggage off while I parked and walked to the hotel. He told me no problem although I was not asked to check it in and get like a ticket to validate my pickup once I parked my car. Luckily, no one else had dropped off their luggage and shifts hadn't changed to have an issue. Check in was a breeze with the typical show me your license and credit card in case of incidentals. Note- They put a $150 hold on your credit card. You're asked if you want 1 or 2 hotel keys which I should have said two because I accidently locked myself out my room night 2 as I had changed bags and picked up the key sleeve without the key in it! That also proved to be quite easy as I just proved my identity through my address and telephone nunber without an id. Although the people were quite nice here, what wasn't so nice was the 2 little bottles of water they give you and no whee to fill them. Sure, get the ice bucket and let the ice melt into water but if you frequently drink water, that will not be enough! You have a little bit of luck when you attend meetings or breakfast in the conference center across the way where they'll have water available. Other than that, those two water bottles per day are all you're going to get! Additionally,, I was extremely disappointed that I found my room the next day not attended to and without water and towels and I had been gone from the room from 9am to 3pm. I called down to front and shared the disatisfaction and in 10 minutes I was given 2 extra bottles besides the two for the day and plenty of towels for my stay (or maybe they didn't want me contacting them again). The scenery of the resort takes away some of the inconveniences of the hotel. If you had to stay here for a conference for several days, you wouldn't feel isolated or enclosed inside since you have to walk outside to get to the conference center, the gym, and breakfast. However, we did have individuals that were present for the event I was attending that had limited mobility. It would have been nice to at least accommodate those individuals. I even helped other attendees carry luggage to their car to the visitor lot because AGAIN no one was driving around carts to assist people in this regard and it was the first weekend that summer had started ,so you know it was hot!!!! Drinks at the bar are slow as molasses with one bartender. The first night I was there, the young lady behind the bar looked so overwhelmed... I didn't even want to order, but someone else was paying for my drink and insisted, so I ordered a lemon drop. I did ask if she knew how to make it and she said yes. It wasn't the worse but not the best. Others in my party stated the same. I did enjoy the gym that had just enough cardio, weight machines, and other aerebic equipment to get a good sweat. Towels and water are in the room along with disinfecting wipes. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of choices. I do love a good omelet and fresh juice bar! You can request a cup of coffee to go too! Certainly if I came here again I would be prepared to have my own water and my walking shoes ready. Pretty location but an hour drive for me using the toll. It's a toss up if I would come back if the organization that organized the conference I attended chose this location for a conference next year.

Another night, another hotel and it was a good one!…read more Here for a work trip, we were able to check in early and head to our rooms! The resort was very quiet as it was off season but very nice. Check in was fast and friendly- and on that note all the staff were exceptionally friendly! As we were leaving our Uber driver got confused and could not find the entrance so one of the staff members drove off to guide him towards us! The room was big, beautiful and very spacious as well as spotlessly clean! Loved the large balcony and large bathroom with plenty of counter space to get ready! The room was also quiet and very dark which made for a nice sleep! Beautiful grounds, well equipped gym! Great stay!

We enjoyed a day at the water park. It's not too big and not too small. My kids are older so they enjoyed the lazy river and swimming. We had drinks and got food for the kids. The drinks (smoothies and adult drinks) are great but the food was not great. We ate a local restaurant most nights because the dinner options at the resort did not sound appetizing. One the second day we ordered breakfast at Harrison's and the were very slow and hectic. I recommend the buffet which they are prepared for and the best cost. We took our kids golfing for the first time. We booked a late tee time to avoid the crowds. We enjoyed the course and carts to ourselves. We received excellent service during our entire visit. Our rooms were okay but nothing special and no special view (we paid for rooms with a view). One room faced the woods and one room faced the water park. The website showed a lake and fountain as the view. We had tons of bugs and wasps nest on the balcony so we could not sit outside. I would definitely get different room locations next time. It was a fun and relaxing family vacation that we would do again.

Two complaints I have is, our room was not ready for two hours after check in time, but we were not allowed delayed checkout, which was frustrating. This delayed the amount of time we could use the amenities. The other is that the pool bar closed quite early in comparison to the pool. We wanted to order some food and a drink, but were told we would have to order to our room or visit the restaurant. Other than that it was wonderful and I highly recommend

The chefs did a great job with the menu, everything was thoughtfully prepared and well-paced. The octopus appetizer and the bison tenderloin stood out, and the courses paired nicely with the bourbon without feeling heavy. The staff was professional, attentive, and genuinely kind throughout the evening. I highly recommend both the hotel and the restaurant, not just for out-of-town guests, but also for locals or anyone looking for a relaxing staycation. I'm listing the menu below simply to highlight the culinary talent behind the evening, as every course was well executed and memorable. Appetizer * Charred Spanish Octopus | Bourbon Smoked Aioli | Bean Cassoulet Salad * Smoked Duck Breast | Poached Fennel & Prune | Arugula | Pomegranate Seeds | Valencia Orange Vinaigrette Entrée (select one) * Juniper Berry-Encrusted Bison Tenderloin | Birch Bourbon Demi-Glace | Celeriac Puree | Baby Heirloom Carrots * Herb Pistachio Encrusted Lamb Rack | Parsnip Puree, Mint Rosemary Jus | Tri Colored Heirloom Beets | Acorn Squash Dessert * Fire Grilled Spiced Plum | Winter Stone Fruit Compote Vanilla Bean Gelato | Spiced Candied Macadamia & Pecans

The overall layout for the convention space was very spacious and pretty much perfect for the type of convention we held. The lunch was some of the best hotel-provided food I have ever had (check pictures). Everything was made so well like I was at a nice restaurant. Big shout out to them. Last thing I will mention is how nice it is that the hotel is right next to the Woodlands Waterway. It was really nice to go on walks and have conversations with customers outside of the havoc of the convention and at a much more peaceful and beautiful place. I would be happy to attend another conference here!

The hotel itself is clean and feels updated, the staff was friendly and welcoming, the rooms are spacious and new, the restaurants served good food, the gym was excellent as well. Did not try it, but they also have a nice looking pool. So really what's not to like. All of this and very close to many other restaurants in the woodlands area. The room was appointed nicely, design wise, it felt upscale, bed was comfortable, full glass shower, wide plank style tiles, comes with a mini fridge and coffee maker as well. The fridge is a great thing to have while traveling and not all hotels have them these days which is a shame. It also has a nice desk area to work at, TV and a little lounge area. The gym, nice sized gym, cardio equipment, treadmills, elliptical machines, Peloton bikes, etc. the also have dumbbells, but max out at 50 lbs, (which I would like to see a bit heavier), a couple benches, a multifunctional life fitness weight machine as well as a stretching area and kettle bells, some other machines, everything you need to get a nice workout. I need to stay at places with a nice gym and will skip places that don't have one, this one is great. They also have chilled towels you can use during or at the end of your workout, always like to see those little touches. All and all, excellent property and would not mind staying here again if I am in the area. I would recommend you check them out. Join their Bonvoy membership as well to get points on stays and eventually can use those points for free nights, etc. Enjoy!

The location is…read moregreat, it is right across the street from shopping centers and the mall, and right next-door to a high-end outdoor shopping center. The location was easy to get to and was no more than 20 minutes from most of the places we had to visit over the week. First of all, they get five stars for accommodating us on short notice and for their customer service. In terms of the hotel, they could do some work with the plumbing. During our stay, the water would go in and out, and sometimes it would be piping hot and other times freezing cold. We stayed in room 405. Our room was great, except for the air conditioning did not work in the bedroom... It was fine everywhere else in the room. I was happy that there was a sofa bed in the room as we had an unexpected guest join us... And we were glad to be able to accommodate. However, the sofa bed mattress needs to be changed. It is so bad that if you merely sit on it, you can feel not only the springs of the mattress, but the metal bars of the sofa bed as well and that is not good when you need to get a good night's rest. Overall, the staff was very friendly. Their breakfast ends by 10 AM and if you're down there by 9:50 AM, they will be putting away the food and cleaning up around you, which I thought was a little bit strange. I figured because it was Thanksgiving week and nobody wanted to be there working that's the way it had to be. The hotel also charges $16 per night to park there. However, if you are there for five nights or more, the parking is free. If you need to park there, make sure that you get your parking permit from the front desk or your car will be towed. Other than the items I mentioned, it is a nice hotel, and it is very clean, and the housekeeping people were very accommodating and friendly. Enjoy!
