I love Cold Stones ever since I was a child living in Jacksonville (since 2016). I loved the different type of ice cream can you can get from this store and the service before was one of the best service that you can get in Jacksonville even though it was just a ice cream store. Usually, I get the french vanilla or coffee ice cream which is both a common and uncommon ice cream choice and usually not out of stock when in demand. I would give this a nice 5 stars before 2023. Sadly in 2023, my view has changed. Some cracks are being shown within the store and its only an amount of time until people will see them. The atmosphere of the store is now showing it age by the old chairs and table at the eating way, and the ice cream sometimes have small pieces of other ice cream on each other (example: I saw some pieces of Cake Batter Ice Cream on top and somewhat mixed with the French Vanilla Ice Cream). I know that it takes A LOT OF TIME to serve everyone and clean up but first and over time impression is everything. Service could have been better, especially of of my birthday week (Week of December 9). I tried to come hear within a couple days after my birthday to redeem my "Birthday Bogo" which is basically Buy One, Get One Free coupon and I was unable to redeem it because of the employees didn't know what and how to redeem it. Basically what happen was that when I came to this Cold Stone the week of my birthday, I tried to get 2 milkshakes for my birthday. The current employee told me that it was only for the scoops of ice cream that I can redeem the coupon after I got my milkshake. So I was like "Oh okay, well let me come back a later day." A week later, another employee told me that it was for everything instead of just ice cream. After that I was a bit mad for the fact that I could of gotten two milkshakes a week ago and I was not able to redeem my coupon!!! read more

I have to say that I have a love/hate relationship with Cold Stone. I love Cold Stone and when a location is delivering a product that is consistent with the brand image, it's fantastic. Unfortunately, it's not always consistent. As a Cold Stone addict, I have to say that I've noticed much more consistency at corporate locations as compared to franchised ones. And with the franchised locations, a location with an owner present in daily operations is typically superior to an absent owner. This place, at least on March 22nd 2023 when I visited, has not only an absent owner, but an inability to properly on board new staff. During my visit there were three employees behind the counter. One of them demonstrated competence. The other two, most certainly had not received training. Please don't think I'm ragging on service sector employees, because that's not the case. But if I'm giving the benefit of the doubt to the employees, the reason for their performance has to be a lack of training. Now, I fully realize that one of the frozen stones must be out of order. And this would probably be a good example of something that wouldn't happen if an owner were present. So, you have the one employee who is moving at a normal pace, constantly fighting for room at the single, functional cold stone, with the Tweedles struggling to figure out their next move. I literally watched one of the Tweedles mix a creation for almost 10 minutes. If the ice cream wasn't melted from sitting out on the cluttered back counter, it's definitely melted from being played with for 10 minutes. I truly felt bad for the employees and the customers who were trying to so patiently wait. I think I was in there for about 20 minutes and then figured it just wasn't a good day for some Cold Stone. Unfortunately, when you sell out to a franchisee, you're going to sacrifice quality. Kahala doesn't really care, but this is a location that currently should be visited only by the most patient of customers. From being a customer, I do happen to know who the owners are. I'm not sure I would want to be working at an ice cream shop, instead of enjoying my retirement. However, not being present translates into a teenager with no vested interest in your business making business decisions, and steering it towards success or failure. Awful experience. As I walked in, I went to the fridge with all the ice cream cakes. I looked to the back and saw the employees. I look and I see SMOKE coming out from the direction of the employees. How is this allowed?? In an ice cream FOOD established how are these employees allowed to smoke/vape?? This was just the beginning. As me and my friend go up to order ice cream, we were met with a very uninterested, unenthusiastic employee. She looked and sounded deadpan. You could tell she just wanted us to leave. As she's mixing my ice cream, me and my friend talk like normal and I see her ROLL HER EYES! I'm so sorry that it's so inconvenient for you to do your job. As we check out, I see her name tag. Her name was Lily. I later make my friend go in and ask another employee who the manager of the store was. Lo and behold, the managers name was Lily. Her hair was barely tied up which is so unsanitary. This happened a few weeks ago. I hope the store improves its customer service because the ice cream was good, but the disrespectful and unprofessional attitude of employees deterred me and my friend from ever coming back. If you want quality ice cream with quality customer service, go to the Cold Stone in Yulee. It's also much cleaner from what I saw. Overall, very disappointed. read more

Very poor customer service! After waiting in line for 30 minutes and having my order prepared we were informed that they do not honor the buy one get one free coupon that we received in a mailer. There was no visible signage to the customer, only a small slip of paper behind the register. Rather than just honoring the coupon the manager took back one of the ice creams I had ordered to throw it away. We placed an online order to pick up at 8:15 this evening. We arrived at 8:07 and were told she was making it now. We said we knew we were early so no problem. She then continued to help customers that walked in behind us not even touching our order. There was another employee hiding in the back and it took forever to come help, and did it with attitude, almost like we were bothering him. It then took him almost 30 minutes to make 5 cups of ice cream. He made one the wrong size. I then asked why he wasn't wearing gloves when every time I've ever been in there everyone wears them. He told me that he didn't have to as long as he washed his hands every time he went in the back. I did request that he wear gloves and he had an attitude about that. He kept touching his cell phone screen stating that they were not provided with a sheet to tell him what he needed for each flavor. I asked for a number to be able to call this evening to speak to a manager since there wasn't one in the store. He walked in the back, made a phone call and came back with a number for me. I tried calling and was sent straight to voicemail. All cups of ice cream were disgusting with toppings and ice cream running down the side. Someone really needs to supervise their staff and maybe update their training. Sad, we really enjoyed going there! And this is not the first time we've had an issue with this store and the same staff member but let it slide since he seemed new. Another time we were also told at 8:30 that they weren't taking anymore customers since they closed at 9:00. Hopefully the owners get control of their management and staff or they will run the store into the ground. They are only getting one star because I had to pick one. read more

They are slow sometimes but it takes time to cater to everyone that walks through the door and give you exactly what you want, the way you want it. This coldstone is awesome! I have gotten great service whenever I have visited and if you tip the crew they sing for you! I love making my own creations and anything with the brownie is AH-MAZING! The store is nice and clean and they have seating inside and outside. They are usually the busiest in the evenings. Also, I got my brother and sister a cake there for their birthdays and it was half mint chip (my brothers fav) and half coffee (my sisters fav.) They are willing to customize cakes to your preference so I highly recommend it. read more
