I received a $5 gift card and tonight was the time for using it. The parking was packed (6pm on a Sunday) so I needed to be patient but once I got a spot, I stepped in and was pleasantly greeted. My order was simple: a Gotta have it (the largest size cup $8.59) of the sweet cream with a serving of blueberries mixed in. The massive ball of sugar and milk was put onto the marble slab, the blueberries went in and then it was all scraped together then served in my requested cup. I started eating it there but it was much larger than expected so I took the rest home. The place was busy with folks walking in to get their sweet tooth sated, families with little ones and adults by themselves. I love Coldstone. I worked there when I was in my teens and early 20s and still never got sick of it. The Altamonte location is great. It's mostly very busy inside. The workers are kind. The sizes for the ice cream are small ($7.09), medium ($7.19) or large ($7.29) The sizes are great to share and you can even add a waffle cone. Service was great and the flavor I created was amazing. The vanilla ice cream was packed with cinnamon, pie crust bits, apple pie filling, and caramel. The pie crust and cinnamon made it extra dreamy! I was so impressed. The only iffy part was the service. The line was rung really inefficiently. They served people behind us and then those people had to cut us to go pay so it was kinda disorganized. One of the things folks like about cold stone is that you can get a variety of different "mix-ins" to go with your ice cream; everything from berries, brownies, KitKat, waffle cone crumbles, cereal bits, cookie dough, and lots more. There is nothing like good ice cream for dessert. We stopped for dessert after an early dinner and others had the same idea. The place was pretty busy but they served the ice cream pretty quickly given the hands on mixing that they do. I had one of their signature creations and they offer about 18 of these mix ups. Mine was German chocolate with chocolate ice cream of course, pecans, coconut, brownies and caramel. I opted to pass on the brownies so that it would not be too sweet and a little less calories. The ice cream was creamy and delicious. The service was quick and staff was attentive. My daughter had her ice cream with an awesome waffle cone for free. The super Yelp app offered a coupon. My husband had a huge vanilla milk shake that he enjoyed. There is not a lot of seating available and the space does not lend it self to a large group to sit down and enjoy. This is a good location...not too far from the mall and near apartments. But the parking lot needed to be tidied up. There was a fair amount of debris around and you really do not want to see that when getting something to eat. And when you are spending a kinda high price for a treat. The small serving of ice cream is over $5 dollars but it is a good portion. You can also create your own ice cream mix up and there is big selection of toppings. I've loved Coldstone my whole life! Nothing is better than a last-minute decision for their germanchokolatecake creation. We stopped for a late night girls trip to scratch the itch. The quality and consistency of our ice cream was fantastic as always. However, service was unfriendly and awkward. We were skipped in line for payment by choice of the employee, without being asked or notified. I could tell they were trying to just get the line moving, but we were almost literally pushed out of the way. The employees did not seem rushed, but just very unhappy. We came back the next week, hoping for a different experience. Although service was faster, the line was served out of order and with the same lack of friendliness. I always get the same thing as well: I create my own using French vanilla ice cream, chocolate chips, m&m's, Reese's peanut butter cups, and rainbow sprinkles. We both swear by our picks because it's so good! Cold stone = always packed! This ice cream is so good they get four stars but so expensive they can't get five! The Altamonte location is in a Great Location with cranes roost on the same block. You can find a parking space but if you don't there is some parking nearby. There are a few tables inside but it's very cramped. The servers are pleasant but they attempt to check out an entire party and it doesn't run smoothly. Rewards points program is good and checking in with Yelp! gets you a free cone. I would give 3 stars for price but the ice cream is so good and they give you so much in your bowl that it works. read more

I normally don't write reviews but this Coldstone location 100% deserved a great review after my experience. For my birthday, I went on Coldstone's website to see what kind of cakes they made and I fell in love with the description of the Quilted Coffee Caramel cake. I called my local Coldstone to see if they had that cake in the store and was informed that they don't carry it and couldn't tell me what locations do carry it. Determined to find one that did, I called this location and asked them the same question. This time the girl who answered the phone told me that they also don't normally carry that cake BUT that she would be happy to custom make it for me! When I got it it was exactly what I wanted, looked amazing (just like the photo) and tasted incredible. I couldn't recommend this location more. Thank you for making my birthday that much more special! (And for anyone who thinks this cake sounds enticing, it is lick the bowl good. I think the girl who gave it to me that day even said they were thinking about making more of them and putting them in their carryout case.) read more

It was still busy and hopping at 10:45pm, but we luckily got a table for our group (there are only 4 tables with 2 chairs each for seating). Everything looked very rich and decadent, but while standing in line, I decided to check ingredients list and realized my 1st choice - the Sweet Cream flavor had ingredients listed like: corn syrup, Guar Gum, Cellulose Gum, Mono & Diglycerides, Polysorbate 80!! Hm - I wouldn't think vanilla ice cream made with the "finest quality ingredients" would need anything beyond cream, milk, sugar, eggs and vanilla!! I ended up getting just plain chocolate as that and the dark chocolate flavours were the only two on the ingredients list that had limited amount of what I consider to be not-real food, but I can't believe I paid $5 bucks for the privilege of putting chemicals in my mouth :( C'mon Cold Stone Creamery - you can put better quality ingredients in your ice-cream! I will say however, service was excellent and staff were super friendly, which is why it's 2 stars rather than 1. Why is this location the only one making up rules??!!! So I usually get a kids come. One scoop of ice cream in a small cone about $3 and some change. I walk in ask for a kids come and the girl proceed to tell me that they can only put the corn on top - I am confused by this- so I ask further question and she then tells me jay the ice cream scoot is too big. Ummm okay . Either way I reiterate that I want a kids scoop and cone and move on. OH AND This location doesn't just have the Oreo cream ice cream. You have to get the sweet cream and have them add a cookie Moving on. So she gets the little scoop, mixes in a Cookie and put it in a cup with a kids cone on top. I get to the register and my Billie $6.73!!!!! WHY??!! So I start asking more questions about the ONE scoop KIDS CONE that I wanted and she proceeds to tell they don't have kids cone WHAT! HOW! I've never had a "bad" experience here when it comes to the actual ice cream or employees, but minus 2 stars because every time I've been here (8-10 times in the past year), there is at least 10+ people in line. I'm actually in line right now and counted 15 people in front of me. There have been times when I've walked in then turned around and walked out due to the lines. This location is by far the dirtiest and gross Cold Stone i've ever been to in a while. The mangers do not wear gloves and think that it's appropriate to grab the toppings with their hands. The counters and tables are filthy and sticky from left over ice cream and hair. That's just the cleanliness; the customer service is by far the worse. The manager is always in the back watching movies while one co worker comes out to take the customers.. She or he looks and smells like they're just nasty and mean overall. Cold stone is my favorite ice cream! They have so many different flavors like sweet cream, birthday cake, mint and coffee. And the toppings! Literally any topping you want and they have it. My all time favorite is the sweet cream, with vanilla cake pieces and strawberries. They also have milkshakes and other desserts as well. If you really love the ice cream, you can order it by the pint. The only thing about this location is that it is in the heart of Altamonte Springs in UpTown and on a weekend night you are looking at 20-30 minute wait for your ice cream because they only have like 2-3 employees working and doing the register. So that is kind of annoying when you want to just stop by for some quick ice cream. They also only have about 4 tables to sit at which are usually already taken so I would recommend taking it Togo. I called the store immediately. I was told I could come and get a redo. I stated I would not be back that evening. The individual I spoke to on the phone said " I'm working Tuesday if you want to come back ". It's Tuesday. Came back and the individual in charge would not honor what was previously agreed on.
