My brother, father and I decided to go check this place out on beautiful spring day, to take a break from skiing. The facility was beautiful and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Catching the keepers in the main ponds was not much of a fishing challenge, but still fun. They clean the fish for you right on the spot and we came home with a couple of meals for all of us. You could easily catch as many as you want, but for price consideration we stopped at 3 a peice. We brought a fly rod and the three of us shared time fishing the trophy pond, that is catch and release. That was also super fun and more of challenge than the keeper ponds. After fishing we walked around the grounds for a bit which was also nice. I highly recommend a visit. read more

Gorgeous grounds, and the people who owned it were beyond helpful, you can tell this place is well loved! I've never seen so much trout in one place! You could tell they were really healthy! We had so much fun! We all caught a fish on the first try. The employees were kind and accommodating. They cleaned and gutted our fish, it was a great experience! The only down side was how expensive it was for a thirty minute family outing. It was over one hundred dollars for the fish and we were there for maybe thirty minutes total. The kids had fun fishing. The reason why I'm only giving three stars is because whomever gutted and filleted did not do a good job. Pin bones were left on all the filets. Pin bones are the tiny bones fish have and are really really annoying to do without proper equipment. You can't eat a filet of fish with pin bones. I would recommend that the workers filet it right because this wasn't enjoyable. read more

We spent several hours here today with five adults and four kids. Everyone had fun! Beautiful grounds with several ponds, a bridge, bowery, lots of fish, ducks and even a black swan. There is also a cool well, shaded benches, chairs, bathrooms and soda machine. The employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. Fishing poles, food and buckets are available. There was only one other small group fishing with us. Unfortunately the fish weren't really biting today (must have been fed recently) so we only kept one large trout. We had a pleasant experience time while fishing here. Besides the different ponds that you can fish from, there is a little farm where you can feed some chickens, a cow, and some goat. Right before the sun went down a young lady named Lilian came and told us we had 30 minutes before closing and explained if we wanted our fish to be gutted and filleted to give her 1 minute per fish to be done. We had a total of five fish that she cleaned for us. Lilian was so knowledgeable and personable. We will definitely continue to come back here. read more

Fun place to take kids. If you really like fresh trout, this is the place for you. It's nice that they filet everything that you catch if you want them to. The only drawback is that the fish are so easy to catch, that you are done in a short amount of time. The peaceful fish farm is a perfect place for young families to experience fishing. The free fishing poles are simple. The poles are bamboo sticks with fishing line, hooked, and baited. Our kids each chose a pole. Then, we asked for tips and advice from the friendly staff. Within minutes of my kids putting their fishing lines in the water they were pulling out trout. It was a lot of fun and it was a memorable learning experience for our little kids. We started out catching a lot of fish on a Sunny Friday evening. Our luck gradually faded as the time passed. When done we walked our two buckets of fish to the building to weigh the total, ask the employees to filet, and pay. We waited a long time for our order to be filet. But there is space for kids to run around and climb trees. I recommend families with young kids drive out of their way to experience this good fish farm. read more

This place is beyond cool. I've traveled quite a bit and have only seen a farm similar to this in Seattle. Needless to say, my local friends bringing me here was the most fun I've had outdoors doing a new activity in a while. This place is awesome! They have poles, no need for bait. They sell fish food for the kids to toss in the ponds and the fish get so excited! They follow you around as they think you have food. No need for fishing licenses here. And they charge for what you catch. They charge for fileting the catch at 50cents each fish. See my photos for price on catches. We love this trout farm! Last night we had a family gathering at the Cold Springs Trout Farm and it was perfect. The employees were helpful and had tables set up for us with plenty of room for us to set up food and very nice round table seating for our guests. We have been coming here for years and honestly it has to be one of the best venues around for a birthday party, retirement, wedding, just about anything you want to gather a bunch of people for. Imagine 30 preschool kids AND their parents AND siblings... That's a lot of people and the kind people at Cold Springs Trout Farm handled our field trip with two hands tied behind their backs! Maybe that's a bit dramatic, of course, but they must be seasoned pros with this kind of thing. We started with a brief tour of the grounds, seeing every pond from the hatchery on down to the full grown trout. I believe there are 5 different ponds to fish from, which includes a catch and release fly fishing pond. It's a truly beautiful setting. Nicely manicured lawns and landscaping, plenty of shade trees and benches to relax on, all nestled at the base of the mountains. One nice feature is that they don't require a fishing license, so it's excellent for kids or novices who are just starting out. Also a great place to practice your fly fishing casting. They have pavilion for picnics and a children's corn maze in the fall. Good clean fun for everyone! The best part for the ankle biters was to buy a cup filled to the brim with fish food for only a quarter. Ration out the good and you just bought yourself a solid 30 minutes of entertainment! All that bring said, we didn't actually fish. Many people around us were fishing with almost instant success. Great place. Can't wait to go back. read more

This is an awesome place! We had a birthday party there and the facilities were awesome! However, we were there on a Saturday, and everything was being ran by pretty young kids. We weren't greeted or given any run down on how things work. We did have to ask for the garbages to be emptied at the pavilion when we got there. It also seemed like the person I talked to a day or so before the event didn't communicate our plans because no one really knew what to do with us. I'm not sure we actually got rung up correctly for our fish and things, because there just seemed to be confusion even after I tried to clear it up. But the place is beautiful and fun, and I strongly recommend it, I would just make sure I keep track of things better if there's only kids there to make sure there is no confusion. read more

I was absolutely blown away by this company's customer service and pricing. We held our annual company party in their venue area and it was such a pleasant experience. I worked with Tarah who manages the farm. I called her several times before the party to ask questions about measurements, pricing, etc. and she was so kind and patient throughout the whole process. They provided all electricity, water use, and even allowed us to come as early in the day as we needed to set up with no extra cost, just because there wasn't another event being held.
