We booked months in advance a shore dive for Monday afternoon and a Boat Dive Tuesday morning with Coki Dive Center. They had my deposit and card on file and everything was taken care of. Fitting for fins and equipment takes a while. Good thing we arrived early (parking can be problematic) to get everything situated. The staff and crew of this shop are the most friendly and chill folks. Brett was awesome and chill with my teenage boys and eased and assured me they were in good hands. CDC also took underwater photos. We purchased the entire file of photos for $27. Worth it. Actually the shore dive and both dive was priceless and worth every penny. I would recommend Coki Dive Center for their dives in St Thomas. read more

We stumbled upon this dive operation on Coki Beach and booked two shore dives and another the second day. We were impressed by their quality equipment, professional and knowledgeable staff and convenient location!! We are certified divers, but rusty. If it's been awhile or not, this is the place to go! the shoreline was an easy entry and exit. We saw quite a variety of sea-life. I had been diving before in the military but it was my partners first time diving. The instructors were very knowledgeable and entertaining at the same time they made you feel very comfortable with the equipment before the dive and during as well. They have ways of pointing out the different species of fish and it is awesome. If in the area I highly recommend stopping in for a dive or any questions you may have as well they are happy to answer them. The prices are very fair well worth the money then some!!!! read more

Diving while traveling with two kids sounded hard, until we found Coki Dive. We set up on the beach and each parent took a turn doing a shore dive. Kids had a blast watching us go in and under and waiting for us to surface. The beach dives were great! Small groups, easy in and out, and easy swim to reef. We did two dives each and saw barracuda, sting rays, lobsters, and so much more. Both of our dive masters were fabulous especially since neither of us have been diving since 2018. I also love that they include all the gear you need in their price. Makes it easy to travel. most dive centers here on island are small and not what we expected compsrison with main land. But dont let that fool you. We had a great experience with coki dive center . 2 tank dive with Brett. Can't say enough about him, very professional in that he was attentive to our safety and letting us know when there was something really cool to see. he took some amazing pictures which are available for purchase, very reasonable. These guys are excellent and hilarious. They have loads of experience and still have fun doing their job every day even though it is the same reef over and over. They immediately find the most anxious customers and go out of their way to make sure they will feel confident before diving down 40 feet. We did the discover dive, no experience necessary, and after an in-depth and easy-to-remember dry lesson, we were ready and amped to strap on the gear and tanks. The water is wonderful and clear. I was allowed to bring my GoPro on a selfie stick and I got some epic footage, but even with that I still bought a photo they took because it was so good. They have numerous photo options which I really appreciate! The fish were plenty and we saw a turtle a ray. Definitely worth the dive!! read more

I had the chance to rent some equipment and do a single cylinder dive off the Coki Beach Reef. The owner of the business took time out of his busy day to give me a fantastic explanation of the reef and the best way to dive it. I headed out with my dive buddy and enjoyed a nice dive on the reef. Saw lots of incredible coral, fish and some amazing sea fans! As a long time bareboat charterer and scuba instructor, I have experienced a wide spectrum of service when renting cylinders and weights from local dive shops. Peter and his DMs Gary and Ryan went above and beyond to get the equipment to our boat ahead of schedule and deal with some last minute needs (also provided fins for half my crew as the charter company did not supply any despite being in the contract). The DMs helped with getting correct sizes and provided great tips where to dive with the sea conditions. The rental pricing was very fair as we know how their business suffers with the pandemic and lack of cruise ship and other tourist guests. Amazing place that offers all sorts of diving right off Coki Beach. The divemaster, John was super accommodating and incredible while my sister and wife did a dive with him. Although I wasn't certified, he was okay with me following them around with a snorkel mask. I was able to freedive down to about 30ft at certain times and keep up with them, although when they went to 50+ ft I almost lost sight. You corals are beautiful. You may come across sting rays, octopi, sea urchins, sea cucumbers and many different fish. Coki Dive Center is great and professional for what they do. We were here from a cruise ship and booked directly with them to save money and got an amazing deal. Highly recommend diving here if you'll be visiting St. Thomas! read more

I had such an AMAZING experience. I love new adventures and this one was definitely one for the books. We were giving a short 25 mins class on what to do and certain water procedures. I felt very safe with these guys. And I HATE I can't remember their names right now but they were honestly amazing. They weren't pushy or rushed anything. They were patience and fun and we had a blast diving with them. We took the discover scuba dive for uncertified divers. It was a blast , nothing was complicated we adjusted quickly to the concept of breathing underwater and was well on our way. One took pictures and we love all of our pictures we bought all of them. And they also throw in cool shots of fish that are down there. We saw TONS of fish and one turtle is was very cool. I would recommend diving with these guys to ANYONE. And us diving with them counts towards getting certified in the further with or without them. It was a mind blowing experience truly amazing. The beach and marine life park is right next to it so you'll have something to do before and after your dive. read more

Had an amazing discover dive with Laura! Awesome customer service from phone to dive. I've been wanting to get certified for a long time but have been afraid I wouldn't be able to due to small ear canals and trouble equalizing, so I was pretty nervous. This spot was recommended to me as a good dive shop and also low pressure since the dive takes place in a fun reef right off shore (no need for a boat ride). I ended up being the only student (awesome!) and Laura took a lot of time making sure I was comfortable and would be able to dive safely. She was fun and did a great job explaining all the equipment, hand signs, and procedures and took it slow, making sure my ears were okay all along the way. With Laura's help I was able to go the full 40 feet and she was right there helping the whole time, while pointing out interesting fish along the way. It was awesome! This was my first time diving and it went flawlessly while feeling safe and informed. The instructor was knowledgeable and attentive. My wife had some issues staying down so the instructor spent extra time helping her feel comfortable and leading her down into the depths. They do the training in the water at the beach so there's no pool. We gradually swam out and got deeper and deeper. It was an incredible experience and now we both want to get certified. Before I do the review, I need to lay out the cast of characters: Me - I've been scuba certified for 7 years, but haven't gotten wet in at least 5 years. My husband - he just passed his scuba certification the weekend before. My cousin - master swimmer (she's from LA), and is practically scuba certified - she just needs to take the formal test. My cousin's boyfriend - can swim, really wants get scuba certified, but just don't have the time yet. My brother - can't swim, and terrified of drowning and the water - but while on the cruise, has learned how to snorkel if nothing else. So as you can see, there was a huge range of scuba experience and abilities at play on this excursion. While on the ship, we all decided to do a dive together, but as only my husband and I were the only certified divers in the group (and as he was just certified, and I haven't been diving in 5 years) we decided that we would all do the non-certification scuba-dive excursion called "Discover Scuba" so that my cousin, her boyfriend and my brother could join in as well. When we arrive, the dive master gives a quick, but completely through (and fun) crash course in scuba diving. He was also mildly hot, and the me of 12 years ago would have been all over him. Oh yeah baby. The other dive master was also hot. Hmmm...I think I remember why I got into diving in the first place...all the hot guys. Seriously. If you like the bohemian beach surfer look, but want the guy to have a job and not live in a rundown shack - check out the scuba crew. Trust. But I digress. During the dive, he led us down slowly, and made sure that we had plenty of time to equalize (when you dive, you get pressure in your ear, like when you fly) which I is something that I always have a problem with (but oddly, only in my left ear). He did a great job of pointing out fish and coral and gave both my brother and cousin plenty of time to rattle off a billion photos. Yes, my brother, who doesn't know how to swim, decided that it was a good idea to bring a camera underwater. Because being distracted with the camera is such a great idea when one is 40 feet underwater. Sigh. It was a pretty fantastic dive. I loved the little crash course, as it was a great refresher, and I love that my brother is now totally gung-ho about getting scuba certified. Of course, we need to teach him how to swim first. Eh, details. Oh, just a note about Coki Beach - the beach is a gentle slope into the water, so it's an easy entry way. There are tons of rocks, which is covered with coral, sea urchins (which made me sooooo hungry. I heart uni), and fish of all kinds. The day we were there, the water was so crystal clear that visibility was easily 30ft. *AWESOME*. And yes, the photos that my brother and cousin took were *perfection*. Note: The Coki Beach Dive Club is a little mobile shack/unit that pulls up to Coki Beach every day or something, which is why there is a PO Box for the address. But it's right by Coral World so you can't miss it. read more

I booked a beach dive for a Monday morning. The dive master, Ryan, was awesome! (Even for a Michigan fan). His orientation talk and dive brief was thorough but no longer than necessary. He has a great sense of humor and is a very experienced and professional dive master. The beach dive lasted 35 minutes , it would have been longer if the other diver and I weren't air hogs. I couldn't ask for a better nice experience. I will be visiting Coki Dive Center again on my next trip to St. Thomas. read more

Highly Recommended!!! My husband and sons scuba dive and planned to dive in St. Thomas on a cruise. I have snorkeled, but was always way too scared to try scuba. I always wanted too, but I'm not good in the water. This trip I decided that I would do it. And I am so glad that I did! The dive shop was very professional and the staff amazing. If you can request Michelle, I would do that. She was so patient and really helped me get over my fears. I liked this particular dive since you walked in from the beach and didn't have to jump off of a boat. You simply start to swim out and you don't even realize how deep you are going because it is very gradual. Getting out of the water, I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to carry my tank back to out of the water. She suggested that I just drop it in the water and someone would retrieve it. Great dive center with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The dive shop is actually just a kiosk in the same parking lot as Coral World, so if you are looking for it, just follow the signs for Coral World. I did several dive with them over a few days: boat dives, beach dive, and a night dive. They are one of the few on island who offer night dives. I found the staff to be very accommodating and made every dive fun. The package deal for dives is also reasonable and one of the cheaper ones on the island. I didn't take any lessons there, so no idea how they perform in that regard. They also rent out snorkeling gear if you don't want to dive and provide free dog biscuits for you to feed the fish. read more

Ideal first-time diving experience! I will say, I always aspired to scuba dive, but was certain my anxiety about the logistics would prevent me from truly committing to doing so... but when on the islands, you engage in island life, right? Friends and my boyfriend convinced me to do it, and I am so, so happy they did. A small group of us (6) were led by two instructors--Jay and Matt, I believe. Jay walked through what should've been a boring (yet informative) how-to on all of the safety precautions and logistical breakdown of the equipment. He was entertaining and made corny jokes to keep everyone engaged. We signed some paperwork and suited up (no wetsuits, just tanks, flippers and masks). An additional representative (I forget her name--sorry!) helped to pass out equipment and we were all double- and triple-checked to be sure everything fit appropriately. We moseyed out into the shallow end of the beach to begin simple exercises to ensure we were confident with handling the equipment, breathing underwater and with communicating with gestures beneath the water. Once we were all comfortable, we slowly glided deeper into the water. Ever so often, Jay would check our oxygen levels, and gesture to us to ensure we were all okay... periodically, he would show us different creatures along the floor of the ocean, as well as play silly games (ex: hot potato with some sort of coral or tube-y rock-like substance). The entire experience was about 1.5-2 hours, hugely informative and exciting, and most importantly, sparked my interest to become a certified diver. I think it speaks volumes that these guys were able to make a potentially dangerous event feel really laidback and engaging, while also educating us all very effectively. If (hopefully WHEN) we return to St. Thomas, I'd love to dive here again! This was definitely the highlight of my entire vacation. Thanks so much, guys!!! You are awesome! read more

This is a fantastic destination for anyone who has never been certified or always wanted to try scuba diving. The instruction and safety were great. We dove to just under 40 feet and got to see some great coral and tropical fish. I took my 12-year-old son and 15-year-old daughter, and both of them thoroughly enjoyed it and felt very confident in our leader. St. Thomas was a cruise port for us and we booked Coki Dive Center for our excursion. There were 6 of us in all and none of us had ever been scuba diving. So, a couple of us were very apprehensive about our first time diving. Gary put everyone at ease and even gave extra attention to the most timid in the group. This outing was "hands down" the highlight of not just our time on St. Thomas, but our entire vacation! These guys are awesome! Also, the equipment was in great shape and very clean! After our dive, we all bought souvenirs to remember our dive, but I left my new shirt sitting on the counter. We contacted Peter and he said "no problem, we'll ship it to your home"... and low and behold, 3 days after we got home from the cruise, I get a package in the mail with my forgotten shirt AND a free beer koozie and Coki decals! My son and I had a fantastic beach dive with the good folks from Coki Dive Center this June. Calm waves, sandy bottom and warm water making entry and exit a breeze. The far side of the reef and some old lobster traps sit in 40 to 50 feet of water. 80 foot+ visibility. Highly recommended - we did the guided dive for our first visit. We'll definitely be back. And what a fantastic beach to get a burger and beer on when you're done diving. read more

Coki Dive Center is flexible and willing to work with you, tailoring courses to your needs and generally treating you with respect, even if you drop the ball and show up two hours late like we did on our first day (sorry!). Our instructor Dale did a great job teaching PADI's open water course; the academics and practical skills seemed to breeze past, and we felt confident about diving right away. The other staff seemed happy and willing to assist us whenever we had needs or questions. I'd definitely recommend Coki Dive Center to anyone looking for dive certifications. read more

We did several dives off the beach during the day and one at night with Luke our dive instructor - would def recommend at least one night dive off the beach at Coki. We also did some really cool dives at Steven's Key and Mingo Bay. The owner Pete who also is the capt of the boat is very nice and helpful. I loved it!!! I have been thinking about scuba diving for some time now. I am so glad I finally did it. I did the discover scuba diving tour and I would highly recommend it to anyone curious about scuba. I lucked out because I was the only one who signed up for the nine am group. The beach wasn't crowded and I got undivided attention from my instructor. Win win. My only regret was not bringing or buying an underwater camera. Trust me, you will want one!! Epic dive! When we first arrived at Coki Beach, we were met by Ceasar, who introduced himself as our diving guide. He was extremely thorough and went over all the safety and diving checkpoints. He was extremely patient and fun, making our beach dive a relaxed and wonderful experience. The reef was healthy, the fish were plentiful, and we were delighted to swim with a lovely sea turtle!
