I went into this divorce process scared and hoping someone would just tell me everything would be…read moreeasy and work out perfectly. That's not what Debbie did, and honestly, I'm glad she didn't. She told me the hard truths right from the start. There was no sugarcoating, no false promises. She's a total straight shooter, and in a situation like this, that's exactly what I needed. It wasn't always what I wanted to hear, but it helped me make real decisions instead of living in denial. She takes the initiative without me having to chase her down or beg for updates. She's always two steps ahead, thinking about what needs to happen next. Super involved, very personal, like she actually cares about how this affects me and my life, not just another file on her desk. She got me remote court appearances when I really needed that flexibility, which made a huge difference with my schedule and stress level. And the communication? Unreal. Emails at all hours; early morning, late night, weekends. She was always prompt with her responses and never left me hanging wondering what was going on. If you want someone who will fight for you, keep it real, and actually be there when you need them, she's the one. Highly recommend.

So I did her favor for writing a good review about her. However, later I learned that she is a full of scams. She refused to provide evidences that could end the case right there to the judge to prolong the case in order for her to gain more money. She took $30,000 within 10 months from me and didn't resolve anything. I just fired her. She claimed herself as " Children come first" however, she kept ignoring my concerns about my children"s safety and laughing. Even when I have a audio recording of my children"s father abusing my child physically and crying and calling mommy for help.... She does not care about the children at all. She only care about how she can fool people to gain more money. She is abusive, toxic, disrespectful, manipulative and twist everything. She constantly gossip about her other clients disrespectfully. I would never recommend her to anyone. I'm palling to take this to the court.

I hired Joshua to represent me in both a custody matter and a related child support matter, and…read morelooking back on the entire experience, I am genuinely glad that I chose him. From the very beginning, Joshua was honest with me. I came into this process knowing what I wanted, and instead of making promises just to make me feel good, he explained the law, told me what was realistic, and was upfront about what would be difficult to achieve. At the same time, I never felt like he dismissed what I wanted. He advocated for me while also helping me understand when we needed to approach something differently or find another way to protect my son and me. Communication was another thing I appreciated. Joshua gave me his direct number and was very responsive. There were times he answered or called me back even while spending time with his own family, which showed me that he genuinely cared about what was happening with my case. He always treated me with respect, reassured me when I needed it, and took my concerns seriously while still giving me honest legal counsel about what was reasonable. Because I had never gone through anything like this before, I also appreciated that after court he would explain what had actually happened and put the outcome into perspective for me. There were moments when I didn't necessarily realize how well something had gone until Joshua explained why it was significant. What stood out to me most was that he wasn't just interested in getting the case over with. When an initial child support amount came back much lower than he believed was appropriate based on the circumstances, he was honest that we shouldn't simply consider it a win and move on. He encouraged me to obtain additional information so that we could continue advocating for a fairer result. I didn't get absolutely everything I originally asked for, but Joshua was very clear from the beginning that he couldn't promise that. What he did promise was that he would do his best to get what he reasonably could and make sure I was protected in the areas where compromise was necessary. I believe he did exactly that. Beyond being a good attorney, Joshua has a personality. We laughed, developed our own little inside jokes, and built a relationship throughout what was otherwise a very stressful process. He also worked with me financially, which I greatly appreciated. Hopefully I won't need another family law attorney anytime soon, but if I did, I would hire Joshua again. I walked away feeling that he worked hard for my son and me, kept me grounded in reality, and made sure my voice was heard throughout the process. I am grateful I chose him to represent me.

From the very beginning, he came across as arrogant and rude. I reached out to him because I need…read morelegal representation--I'm not an attorney. I explained that I've been involved in litigation for a long time and that I've been representing myself in my child support case, but I'm now at the point where I need professional help because I can't continue doing this on my own or pretend to know everything I'm doing. Despite that, he managed to insult and patronize me. When people seek legal counsel, it's because they are looking for professionalism and guidance--not a lecture about how little they know about the law. For anyone already dealing with the stress and financial burden of court proceedings, hiring someone who is insensitive and obnoxious would only make the situation worse. To make matters even more surprising, this was all in the context of requesting a $10,000 retainer, which was truly mind-blowing given the way he conducted himself.

I retained Rebecca Dahlen to represent me in a matrimonial matter and unfortunately had a very…read moredisappointing experience. My primary concerns were responsiveness, timeliness, and preparedness. On multiple occasions, I had to follow up for work or information that I expected to receive without repeated prompting. At one point, I specifically confirmed in advance that materials I had provided would be reviewed before a scheduled meeting, but I came away from the meeting concerned that the necessary preparation had not occurred. The representation ultimately ended when Rebecca decided to terminate the attorney-client relationship. Even after that decision, I experienced delays with the transition to replacement counsel and had to repeatedly follow up regarding my file and work product. Most frustratingly, after Rebecca and I had spent considerable time reviewing a settlement agreement provision by provision and discussing proposed changes, the marked-up document reflecting that work was not included in the file initially transferred to my new attorney, requiring yet another follow-up. Divorce matters are already stressful, and I believe clients should be able to expect timely communication, careful preparation, and an orderly transition if representation ends. Unfortunately, my experience fell well short of those expectations.
