IF YOU CARE AT ALL about being respected do NOT go here!!…read more After a recent full body scan I left feeling completely violated. The scan was thorough and I take no issue with the PA Dorea.... This is so difficult to write because I'm embarrassed. Embarrassed that I didn't speak up when I felt uncomfortable but you put your trust in others and, in a way, feel silly protesting because it's treated like "nothing" during the visit. Well... it wasn't nothing. I was asked some questions by a young man who, after asking a few questions, filled out the rest of my medical history without asking me anything, gave me a gown and left. The paper gown was so thin that it was half Ripped away by the time the PA came in but she was a woman so... all good. She asked me to lay on my back and as I did so.... I heard the door open and close. She checked my stomach, lifted my underwear and checked under my bra. It was then that I saw the young man in the room. By the time it registered, the PA asked me to turn over onto my stomach. At this point the entire gown ripped away and I was face down fully exposed. She pulled my underwear completely down so I was fully exposed. I was never given the chance to object... Rather than just simply leaving a negative review without offering the practice to rectify the situation or offer an apology... I sent an email to the office. This is where I have just completely lost it!! Dr Sivanesan called me and I returned the call. She apparently was not given the message that I had returned the call and called me back leaving another voicemail sounding slightly frustrated that she had not heard back from me. Red flag number one. When we finally connected....She immediately (Without asking for any Explanation from me regarding the situation) went into saying that it is the patient's responsibility to inform them we do not want a male in the room. That everything was done in a professional way. In other words ... it MUST HAVE BEEN MY FAULT that I felt so uncomfortable!!! She went on to say they've never had any complaints before. If this doesn't leave you completely invalidated, disrespected, with a side of victim blaming... I don't know what does. I feel absolutely worse after that phone call because there was no acceptance that possibly, just possibly the way they do things need to be adjusted! I let her know that most people would NOT complain. They just wouldn't come back. Because I liked the PA I was trying to give the practice a chance to redeem the situation. To show some empathy. To show some compassion. And in the end... All that I received was blaming... She literally pushed all of the blame on me and insisted that their practice did everything correct giving no consideration at all for my feelings about the experience. Do NOT GO HERE.

After 42 years of sinus issues and breathing problems, I'd nearly given up. Over the years, I saw a…read morebunch of ENTs around NYC, some with great reputations, and kept getting the same answer: "You're breathing fine with the medications." Meanwhile, I had drawers full of sprays and pills that barely made a difference. It wasn't until I had major surgery with Dr. Scaccia about 7 weeks ago (the surgery lasted almost 5 hours) that I realized just how badly I'd been breathing all my life. I found Dr. Scaccia after deciding to look outside the city for help. A few things stood out right away: his office has parking, he has his own complete surgical suite right in the building, and he's clearly someone who's made a name for himself in the ENT world. His waiting room is filled with plaques, research publications, awards, and even TV and magazine features. At first, I wasn't sure what to make of all that, but now that I've gone through surgery and recovery with him, I get it. I can say with full confidence: He is the real deal. From the very first visit, it was clear I wasn't just another case. Dr. Scaccia has a fast mind and a direct way of speaking. At first, it can feel like he's talking over you, almost like his brain is already a few steps ahead. But once you realize how deeply knowledgeable he is, it all makes sense. He took the time to look inside my nose and connect what I was saying to what he saw, and right away he had a clear sense of the problem. By the second appointment, we were going over a detailed surgical plan, and I remember him saying he was genuinely excited for the case. That stuck with me. It showed how invested he is in what he does, getting real results for his patients. On the day of surgery, which took place in the same office where I'd had all my consults, Dr. Scaccia didn't just straighten my septum, he basically REBUILT MY WHOLE NASAL AIRWAY. He discovered my septum was too thin and weak, so he grafted it on the spot to reinforce it. He reduced my turbinates, cleared out scar tissue from years of infections that I didn't even know were blocking my sinuses, and he did a few more things that were explained and went over my head medically, but clearly weren't over his. What really blew me away was that after everything he did, there was no pain at all. Seriously, not even once. This was multi-level airway reconstruction. There was discomfort, sure, but not pain. Maybe that's due to his technique and high precision, or maybe I got lucky, but I think it's worth pointing out. Since then, I've been back for weekly post-op care, and every week I notice another level of improvement. I never realized how much energy I was spending just trying to get enough air through partially blocked passages. Now, I'm breathing in ways I never thought I could. It's practically effortless. It's been life-changing. His staff is also incredible. They're friendly, organized, and really on top of everything. They called me between appointments to see how I was doing and if I had any questions. They had all the paperwork ready when I woke up from surgery, and they walked me through every question I had afterward. The whole operation runs like a well oiled machine. Every time I go, the office is calm and never overcrowded. I found out he only does one surgery per day, which honestly explains a lot. He's not rushing between patients or juggling five procedures. If it's your surgery day, he's focused on you and you only. Whether it's that approach or just the fact that more people haven't discovered him yet, I feel incredibly lucky I found his place when I did. If you've been struggling with chronic sinus or nasal issues, I can't recommend Dr. Scaccia enough. For me, it's the first time in my life that I feel like I can really breathe. That alone is worth everything.
