Cool little coffee place. Has great food and atmosphere. Not sure what else I can say about it but yelp won't post this unless I come up with 27 more words, so there you go. But great place give it a try

Lovely cafe! Great interior seating and windows on a corner. Nice baked goods and prepared foods (the breakfast sandwich is tasty), friendly staff.

This place is perfect to get some studying done or just a comfy place outside your home to hang out, relax and snack. They have a hot menu and a sandwich and simple drink menu. I'm from out of town and I've been here twice in a few days so it's local and non local friendly. Everything is decently priced each visit has been between $15-25 dollars and all food and drink was made hot and quick. There is paid parking adjacent and street parking if you find it. There are two bus stops just outside so it is quite accessable by transit. Coffee matters is also a five minute walk to St John's government house and Bannerman park should you want to take your snack to go and eat in the park. This place doesn't have a lot of space for a big group of more than 4-5 people but it is great for kids.

Blueberry lemon merengue cheese cake, oat cake and two cups of tea: monk's blend and vanilla chai.

The sweet potato soup and turkey sandwich were fantastic, as was the shiva latte! Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Great place!

Let me start by saying very nice people who work there, not sure if they are the owners or not…read more BUT... will not go again or recommend to others. We made reservations, but when we got there was no reservations. We were given the only available table, which was for 2 people , there were 4 of us. We ordered 1 afternoon tea tray, 2 BLT's, smoothie and a ham and cheese croissant. The 3 tiered tea tray came out: 2 macaroons on top tier, middle tier had 1 slice of bacon and a slice of WRAPPED PROCESSED cheese. Bottom tier had our 2 BLT's and a croissant. So we were waiting on the scrambled egg from tea tray and my croissant sand which and smoothie . The pot of tea came out, no sugar or milk. 10 mins pass and I go to counter (which had a big line) and asked for milk, sugar, my sandwich, eggs and smoothie. Said it would be right out. They came and passed my a sandwhich. I realized it was another BLT and not my ham and cheese croissant. Brought to counter and told him wrong sandwich, I ordered the ham and cheese. Sat back down. Smoothie and my correct sandwich about another 10 mins later. Waiting waiting waiting on scrambled eggs. I asked my cousin to go up and ask before I went full Karen lol. She did and they said they are making them now. Came out 5 mins later, at this point my daughters bacon was cold and so was all of our tea. Take away from this: do not get the afternoon tea, just because you made a res, doesn't mean they'll have a table for you. They need more staff and they should not be serving other guests until the guests before them have all their items. Again, nice people but food service was bad. Cute spot decor wise, but won't be going again just for the decor.

This cafe is located in downtown St. John's. The pastries are delicious and the decor is very cute!read more
