While in Hull for work, I was in search for delicious coffee that was not by a chain and this place was a pleasant surprise. Tucked away in the arcade, the small cafe serves delicious, well-roasted coffee with both cows milk and my favorite, oat milk! They also offer pastries from a nearby bakery. Usually different each day and your choice of regular/vegetarian and a vegan option. I tried two vegan pastries and both were delicious. If I have the opportunity to venture back to Hull, this place is definitely one of my first stops.

You never feel ad though you're being rushed to drink and get out, borrow one of the papers by the door and relax. Free wifi also available. On one occasion they did seem to close a fair bit (40 minutes) earlier than they were due to so if you're going late it might be worth double checking before you travel. But on the whole we really like going there.

The decor is a little off and crumbs all over sticky leather sofas isn't exactly cosy. One day me and the Hubby got desperate as our usual "go to" coffee place was closed. We tried the hot chocolate and a flat white both of which were OK. The staff forgot my cream on the hot chocolate and later came out with an espresso full of ample cream to add on to my cup ( a nice apology gesture I thought). The staff were friendly and despite being a busy place frequented by locals and university crowds - service was actually pretty speedy and smooth.

The location is mega-convenient across the road from the railway station and within sight of St Stephen's shopping centre. But the last word has to go to the large full English breakfast, which comes on a huge oval plate because it is plentiful and done to perfection, comparable to a good family B&B or a trip on the ferry. If you're a stickler for good quality sausages and bacon then you won't be disappointed. My drink tasted good and was up to a reasonable standard, although it did cost a little more than usual as this is a franchise location, it worked out 40 p more compared to a corporate-owned store, this can add up if you visit a lot and buy multiple drinks. Due to being located inside the shopping centre, they do close fairly early at 7 pm, the only other Starbucks nearby would be located inside the train station, but even then they're only open until 8 pm and don't accept Starbucks cards for payment. 3* - Decent Starbucks, yet very busy. Definitely could do with an extra store in the city centre to take the load of this one, which will likely make the experience better across the board.

They are always trying to invent new recipes and do a lot gluten free. The hall was burnt to the ground in 1784 but the Folly remains on the bank of the lake which adopts its name. All the lakes are set in a tree lined undulating valley that once boasted one of the biggest deer parks in Yorkshire. The odd wild deer can still be seen by the die hard early rising fisherman.
