Let me tell you! 1. The menu: I think I understand 1/3rd of it. Not because my German is that bad, it's because I don't speak Turkish and let me tell you. If the menu is in the "native" language of that business, me thinks it's a good sign. 2. The customers: All. Turkish. People. And I bet they know where to go for their Heimat cuisine. 3. I liked Simit Sarayi the second I stepped in the door based on the decor of light wood and bright yet faded lighting. When I saw all the shiny/light brown pastries and deserts the part of my brain that knows flaky /chewy/baked goods is coming kicked in and started creating a tiny bit of a salivating and a slight involuntary grin out of my morning dullness. I chose by appearance in texture and got a Pogaca (Hackfleisch). I think I liked the Pogaca a little more than I liked the Turkish Mocha, maybe I am too used to American/Columbian style coffee. The Turkish Mocha was a bit sour. It was bold but not as strong as in appearance or assumption. No milk, no sugar is the way I go sometimes and this is one of those cases. It came in a little cup: cappuccino style and the bottom half was the left over sand from the grind, not edible. Good in flavor and aroma (medium) but it's like a shot of sour, semi-bold, semi-hot, shot of wake-up. The Pogaca was soft but not too soft as in cake like softness, a lightly dense, chewy, a tad of airiness and seems like the right amount of butter incorporated in. With the Hackfleisch, it add a nice tasty touch, ground turkey meat (tasted like it)? There's seating in front and quieter in back. +Excellent Free Wifi

They seem to be so overwhelmed they can't instruct people how to form a line. Or maybe it's their policy and marketing ploy to create a chaotic situation. The kids running it are literally just throwing your EUR10 box of average quality donuts at you. Anyway, it's Dunkin Donuts. Nothing really special (and no cinnamon twists), and it's badly run, crowded, and the tables are dirty to boot.

I had a sandwich with a Kürbis bagel that might as well have been white bread. It had egg and cream cheese but the eggs were a dried out saucer without any flavor. The Frisch Käse tasted cheap somehow. Also, the most unfortunate thing, they were playing really loud and unfortunately really bad music. (Think "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic except it's not Celine Dion and "Everything I Do, I Do For You" by Bryan Adams except it's not Bryan Adams) Unfortunately it was so loud I had to risk my own ear drums by blasting my own music in my headphones to drown it out. Not relaxing. We also had a pancake. One small one. It was completely dry and came without butter and a tiny teaspoon of syrup that didn't even come close to coating the thing. :-/ It just was not good. I would never expect gourmet but I would not do it again.
