Stopped here for our first coffee stop of our long road trip out east. Saw the reviews and thought this would be a good spot to stop. I ordered the Ghost Latte (coconut and vanilla) which was pretty good! The lady working asked if I wanted whip and bean and said yes, assuming it was on the coffee (spoiler alert, it is on top of the lid) unsure why that's a thing, but I just licked it off. My sister in law ordered a plain latte and did not like it at all. She said it tasted bitter and didn't want I finish it, but since we had stroopwafel's in our van, she decided to take a bite and sip together not sure if mine was the same and the flavors just covered it up or if something weird happened when hers was made. Either way, it was a cute shop and I'd probably stop again. They have a little boutique inside if that suits your fancy. read more

I got a really good Costa Rica and brew from them at three in the afternoon! No mean feat there. However, I would like to encourage the owners to change the sign fronting the store to the same, albeit ugly, white lettering on red background that is used on the highway sign. One of my frustrations with local businesses is when they try to pull in traffic from the interstate, yet fail to learn the lessons of the large franchises that dominate highway signage. Consistency and clarity are essential! Otherwise you are wasting your precious marketing budget. People will exit the highway, but when they fail to see your sign they will head to McDonald's instead. read more

What a pleasant surprise! Traveling onI-80 and found this coffee shop at the Lexington NE exit. Cute little cottage next to the Philips gas station. I had a sugar free caramel latte that was PERFECT and I'm pretty high maintenance on my coffee taste, lol! They have some fun jewelry to look at in the shop; and there are also some light food selections. Very nice & friendly as well. I will stop again when passing through this way! read more

This was by far the worst coffee experience that I have every had. The first time I visited the place, they were closed so I headed over to Mc Donald's to get my Americano. I drink ONLY Americanos (every day) and have had them at several different baristas throughout the US. And, I drink my Americanos black because I like the flavor of a strong cup of coffee. I usually get an extra shot because I like espresso that much. I pulled into their drive thru, expecting something similar to small baristas that I have frequented in the past. I ordered my drink, a large Americano, threw a dollar in the tip jar, and handed my card to the worker. She immediately refused my card because they had a minimum charge of $5. There was a small sign on the window that they prefer charges less than $5 in cash, but nothing that said they would not accept anything. I started digging in my purse, and found $2. I was unsure what to do, take the "tip" back to cover the charges or run? I kept digging in my purse until I found. a $5, and I was able to pay my bill. Once I drove off, I took a taste of my coffee, and just about choked. This was the WORST Americano that I have ever had. Apparently, these people must flavor their coffee and don't know what a good tasting espresso is. Their espresso is not smooth, rather acidic and leaves a bad aftertaste. I could have gotten a better cup from a Kureg. read more

Stopped here while driving through Nebraska late morning June 21, 2021. Very cheerful helpful friendly smart young lady - Hannah - took our orders of coffee and pumpkin bread - the coffee was excellent and the pumpkin bread was divine. We had a nice short chat with Hannah and feel very good about praising the Coffee Cottage and her competence and good attitude. I can't speak for the actual coffee myself, since I don't drink coffee, but since their opening, this has always been my favorite place for smoothies. Their selection is wonderful, and they'll even mix and match flavors for you if something isn't on the menu.
