For those with discriminating tastes (i.e. can't eat at fast food grease pits), the Coffee Cabaret is a wonderful choice in Mexia. It is a great soup, salad, sandwich, and dessert spot. My favorites are the veggie quesadilla and the pimento cheese sandwich plate. I hear the broccoli grape salad and the chicken salad are good too. read more

Everything I've tried has been wonderful but my favorites will always be the brocolli grape salad and the chicken salad.

The food is WONDERFUL, and the staff is nice. One of the only healthy restaurants in town. The broccoli-grape salad is delicious. The chicken salad is especially good. My husband like the Honey Melt sandwich. They have specialty tea each day that tastes really good, too. The two reasons this restaurant doesn't get 5 stars is because (1) The service is VERY slow. We come here only when we have a lot of time to wait (both to order and to receive the food). They do take call-in orders, which speeds it up somewhat, but it also slows everyone else down. I think they need to hire more cooks; and (2) There is no high chair for our little one or boosters for our other kids. With all the space in this restaurant and the fact that this is the only semi-healthy place around, surely they can splurge for these items. read more

I really enjoy this spot.. Coming from Pa and moving to Texas I don't always want Tex Mex or bbq.. This is a place where I can get a salad and some food reminders from back home! Lattes and coffee drinks delish.. Loved their deluxe grilled cheese sandwich and try the frozen lemonade! read more

I ate here once before and it was good. Last week went in and it was awful. The wait was way too long and the place was empty. I had the chicken sandwich and the bread was old and very hard. There was zero flavor. Will not go back. read more
