Like Guinness tasting better in Ireland., gelato tastes better in Italy. I. Additional to gelato, De Vivi has a scrumptious pastry counter and coffee bar. Like heaven on earth. Like most places in italy, you first go to the cash register, pay for what you want, then go to the food counter, give the attendant your receipt and get your gelato or pastry or coffee. Not touristy. Many locals were hanging out enjoying their treats. Well worth the visit.

Quick dessert stop on a trip to Pompeii; Everything was quite decent!…read more Pastiera was unbelievable! Really soft and fresh and had the perfect amount of sweetness and that hint of lemon coming through. Such a good dessert. I could totally have another slice! Crostata al cioffolato - chocolate flavor was nice but the pastry was a little too dry so overall this item wasn't as nice. Affogato - quite a large amount of coffee and the gelato felt a little too less. So the espresso flavor came through very strong. Love the presentation for this though! Passion fruit gelato - had a little tanginess to it (not properly sweet) but I actually quite enjoyed it! Kinder gelato was probably the favorite among the other gelato flavors fried. Dad and brother both ordered this! They had a lot of cakes on display that looked extremely delicious and tempting as well!

In the heart of the Amalfi town center, this place looks like a display of artwork rather than a pastry shop. The presentations and beautifully made pastries were stunning. Making of a selection here is not easy, see the photos. I felt like a fat kid at an all-you-could-eat buffet. I'll also not a breakfast fan, today we make an exception! We ordered and sat out front with beautiful weather and a parade of the early morning Amalfi crowd. The raspberry pastry was light, airy, flaky and packed with buttery goodness. The almond cream croissant was decadent, flaky and one of the best pasteries we have ever had. If you are in Amalfi, wanting to people watch and enjoy sublime pastries, get to Pasticceria Pansa Andrea. This place looks like a scene from a high-end movie set. Treat yourself in Amalfi and relax at Pasticceria Pansa Andrea, you will feel like a million Euros! Great display, excellent ambiance and delicious treats, a triple threat.

Located in the heart of Amalfi in Piazza Duomo, right beside the Cathedral of Sant'Andrea,…read morePasticceria Andrea Pansa is one of the town's historic institutions. Founded in 1830 by Andrea Pansa, the pastry shop has been family-run for generations. Today, it's especially known for its traditional Amalfi pastries and sweets, including the popular delizia al limone, made with the region's famous lemons. It's a little piece of Amalfi history that you can actually taste. We had a bit of time before our ferry, so I made a quick pit stop here. Luckily, I read a few reviews beforehand and knew the process: order and pay at the register, then take your receipt to the counter to pick up your food. I happened to visit during an off time, so there were only a few people inside. I quickly browsed the beautiful pastry display, jotted down the names of what I wanted, and was able to order easily despite my very limited Italian. I was in and out in probably five minutes. Everyone was friendly and helpful, unlike some of the other reviews I've read. They packed my goodies in a beautiful little box, and I took everything with me to enjoy with my family later that evening. Of course, I had to get the delizia al limone -- a must in Amalfi! I grabbed a few other pastries too, a pan di Amalfi and a ricotta e pere. Everything was delicious and thankfully, not overly sweet. It was also fairly priced (I'm from Hawaii where everything is expensive so...) and for the quality, well worth it. Overall, I'm glad I made the quick stop. The pastries were delicious, the experience was great, and getting to taste a little piece of Amalfi's history made it even sweeter. Definitely visit if you're in town!

Many other reviewers have mentioned that this is the best meal that they've had in the entire country and unfortunately, without sounding like a false advertisement, I absolutely must agree. This was the best meal I have had in the entire country and I have traveled Italy extensively. They only have a couple of tables, the brothers, along with mama and Bridget, deliver an incredible meal, incredible experience, and the way the patrons feel after the experience cannot be matched. What the hell if we ordered Caesar salad, then meatballs, then gnocchi, then seafood with linguine, then the local catch of the day which today was amberjack, then ribeye, then dessert. I'm not alone in my prayer of this restaurant, my wife and my three children are unanimous that this was the absolute best meal that they have had in Italy. I strongly recommend this restaurant, but I would mention that you need to get there early because they do not take reservations. Please feel free to joke with Bridget about her Texan roots and her hallmark story which caused her to settle in Positano!

The Caprese salad was fresh and bursting with flavor, and the prosciutto salad was beautifully balanced with just the right mix of savory and sweet. Every ingredient tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The drinks were equally impressive. The house Posides Spritz was refreshing and perfectly balanced made with a cherry liquor, and the limoncello spritz was smooth, bright, and easily one of the best we've had in Italy. We finished with an affogato that was the perfect finale, rich espresso poured over creamy gelato for a sweet, satisfying finish along with the seasonal cake. Service was warm, friendly, and attentive throughout the evening, making the experience feel personal and relaxed. The restaurant is a bit of a walk from the city center with a few stairs to climb, but it's absolutely worth it. The stroll back down afterward is the perfect way to walk off the meal. Between the amazing food, stunning terrace views, and kind service, Posides is a true Positano gem.

The water charge *was* remembered on the receipt. Uh, not good. 3rd - don't expect all your food to be delivered - we sat with one family member with NO FOOD SERVED. Again, we had 7 people and 6 dishes were served. It doesn't take a genius to figure this stuff out. 4th - This is the worst part of all - when we asked to speak to a manager about not receiving food ordered (that we would pay for) the owner came out and insulted us by asking "where you people come from?" Huh?? Are you kidding me? This is the picture of the NASTY owner and all the employees looking aghast at this nightmare scene. She's the one in all black with a pissed off expression. Not worthy of 1 star. This restaurant needs to shut down in shame. Do not go here.
