This is a perfect thing to do for a private party, just by yourself, a group of friends, whatever the occasion. We were also given so yummy cookies to go along with the Christmas in July theme.

On the education side, it houses the TCC Visual Arts, Digital Media and Design, and Mass Communication programs. On the art side, they have different initiatives and programs that promote inspiration, education and collaboration such as art exhibits, installations and education programs. On the event side, I've attended presentations, fundraisers, and other social events. The event hall is a wonderful venue with ample space, parking, professional lighting/sound, and a kitchen. The 9th Street Observation Deck and the Boston Avenue Terrace are my favorite spots. They have a great view of downtown and offer an outdoor venue. It is also Oklahoma's award-winning first "green" sustainable rooftop. The facilities rental prices are all on their website and the staff is great to deal with, always very accommodating and taking health precautions seriously. I have also been very impressed with how they've pivoted due to COVID and continue making things happen. From online galleries and exhibits to virtual workshops, I've loved the versatility! My favorite workshops are the "I Can't" series offered at no cost to the public multiple times throughout the year.

This is a very nice place to sit and study or hang out with friends/classmates. It is open to the outside. The third floor contains art classrooms for all media; painting, photography, etc... Also, Included on the third floor is the Connection, the schools newspaper office and an outdoor sitting area. The fourth floor is dedicated to administration. Overall, this is a pleasant place to take classes, study, work and relax. Wifi is available.

I was a regular at the original location in Houston and I am so glad there is a location here. This is the perfect activity for a lovely evening with friends, family or on a date. This is how it works: go to their website and look at the calendar to pick the painting you want. Sign up online or by dropping by their location during office hours and let them know who you're going with so they can make sure you'll be seating together. Prices vary depending on the day you want to go (~$35-$45). I personally think this is super affordable (and SO worth it!) since they provide everything you need for the painting class, it lasts from 2 to 3 hours, plus the invaluable direction of the awesome artsy people guiding you throughout the class. It is NOT a problem if you don't have a creative bone in your body (like me!). You'll be impressed by the end-result. It is super fun to drink wine, munch on snacks, enjoy the music and company while painting, and you get to take your masterpiece at the end of the night (they make GREAT gifts!).

Some of which are the Writer's Inspiration Group, Artist Support Group, and Writing Group. My mom goes to the PiYo classes and enjoys them a lot. I displayed my art there! That's right, you can display your art at this wonderful place! Just contact Byn, the owner and ask. My art is currently hanging on their walls as of 05/24/15 (it may not be there in a few weeks). The decor is beautiful, it has a kind of Tumblr feel to it, yet vintage in a way as well. Large crystals sit on unique tables in the cozy first room. Plenty of sitting space in the first room as well. Their dog wanders throughout their place, greeting customers and trying to even attempt to go home with them! The dog is really well minded, and it just will steal your heart as you go to your class(s)! This place can be difficult for some to find, but that's because it's in a interesting building behind another building. There is also a tree which can block the sign which is why some people have a hard time seeing it. My dad and I had no such trouble and parked in the large parking lot happily. The confusing thing about going in is that next to the door to their place is a door for another place, which I know nothing about and was closed when I went. I almost went in there though! Whoops! *chuckles* There is then a hallway inside from the first room which leads onto several other rooms, one is a office room, another a photograph room (where they take photos!) and another is a storage, and another a makeup room. But a little off of the first room is the room where you would learn dance and have exercise classes, big mirrors and nice floors for working out are in this room, even a SUPER tiny kitchen. Overall, the Always family is so kind and generous and definitely fun, don't be afraid to ask them questions and figure out what you want to learn. I think they give such a needed addition to Tulsa by adding a place where all can learn, talk and have fun. Since I was in Tulsa, close to Ziegler Art & Frame, I ran it in there to have the back replaced because the lady said she could do it without leaving the print. Having shopped at Ziegler's for over 40 years, I knew they would do a great job, and I fully expected it to cost a bit more; maybe $10-15. Was I shocked!! I walked out of the door with a new paper back for $37.98. What was even worse, I went to check out their ready made frames because I have three prints that I need to get framed. The thousands of exquisite ready made frames have been replaced with art supplies, and the ready mades were reduced to a miniscule number of frames moved to the NE part of the store. So sad. =..(

Tulsa Girls Art School is so amazing! It is one of my favorite nonprofits. They are an afterschool…read morearts program that girls start to attend in third grade and continue to do so until their senior year of high school. Essentially, they provide continued support and wonderful programming throughout the span of 10 years of their lives. They not only provide the space, but also transportation, supplies and instruction. What is even cooler is that the students have many opportunities to sell the artwork they create throughout the years so they're also learning about finances, art show curation and public speaking. When a piece of artwork sells, they put 30% of its proceeds into the student's individual micro-savings account. Senior girls receive 100% of their sales. These earnings allow the girls to save money for art supplies, education materials or college. Finally, a great way to support them is by attending their annual gala, usually held at the end of October or beginning of November. It is by far the most creative fundraiser and it is always very fun. You will also have the opportunity to purchase amazing artwork.
