Our son is learning so so much in Create at the Silverlake Code Ninja's! We love the educators and their laid back but knowledgeable ways with the kiddos. Our son did camp last summer and we plan to do a few more weeks later this summer! EDITING TO ADD: What the business owner has replied below is entirely false. I have had multiple communications with their manager (with the emails and call logs to prove it) since they bought the company where I was told I would be able to use my credit. But now they are not honoring that commitment they themselves gave. All they have offered me is to join now as a member for $300 per month (instead of $400), thereby allowing me to "earn" my refund back by paying them another $3300 in order to get back my already paid $1100. They have stated below that they are "happy to work with me directly on finding a reasonable path forward within what they are ABLE to offer" when that is patently untrue. They have avoided my emails and calls repeatedly. All I got from them was one angry phone call with the male owner where he belittled, screamed, interrupted and was entirely rude to me. They have many choices to let me use my credit: they could refund me, they could allow me to sign up for camps or classes using the refund, or they could allow me to transfer the credit to another person. But they refuse to do any of those 3 reasonable choices, instead only offering for me to GIVE THEM MORE MONEY in order to get my already paid money back. They are acting like they care, but they care not at all. They say they are willing to talk respectfully, but the one phone call I got from them was anything but respectful. Shame on them for lying to the public like this. ORIGINAL POST: I would avoid this place like the plague. Owners are terrible people. Today I spoke on phone with owners Ashima and Vishal and the said they would not let me have my credit, that I could not use the transfer for the credit that their manager said I could have, and they would not refund me at all! My daughter attended the Minecraft, 3D printing, and Roblox summer camps and she had a great time. She was hesitant at first since she was the only girl but eventually found a friend. She loves the camp counselors, Kyle, and the curriculum. As a Latina in tech I was hopeful that she'd like it or at least give it a chance. I'm thrilled to see how much fun she had and how kind the counselors are to her. I just signed her up as a member and I'm hopeful that she keeps loving it and continues to remain curious and interested! read more

New owners took over in May 2024 and they are wonderful. They genuinely care about kids learning coding and computer programming, and this is evident in all of the choices they have made since reopening. This branch is under new ownership. Ashima and her team have been fantastic! Very generous of their time and providing encouragement with our kids. I've spoken with Ashima numerous times about her parenting approach along with her desire to provide STEM programming for kids. My son is really thriving here. He loves going to Code Ninjas. The staff is wonderful. They are friendly and engaging. They explain things to him in a way that he can really grasp and understand. We did the family night this past Friday. He was excited to show me what he's been working on. We both had so much fun creating our very own video game together! Our son (7) LOVED the summer camp this summer before our family began traveling. He learned how to code and how to build worlds in some of his favorite games, and even how to script and film a movie using Minecraft. He did not want to leave every day even after eight straight hours of work and fun. The staff were very warm and caring and probably a little overstaffed which of course we loved. We booked a tour and never received confirmation. I booked another tour and received confirmation. An hour before our tour I got another text from Kyle asking me to confirm my appointment, again. I was finishing a client and unable to confirm, again, and no one was there. My mother and son waited and it never opened. My son looks forward to coming to Code Ninjas every week! He is making friends and learning so much. The owners, Ashima and Vishal, are amazing. We started out at their brand-new Altadena location, and when it was forced to close due to the fires, they were reached out to ME multple times to make sure WE were ok, without any note of despair for what I'm sure was a huge financial hit to them. Recently, they let me bring him in for a last-minute session, and when I apologized for the short notice, they said it was totally fine and that they were parents of young kids too. They took over this franchise and will even try to help previous customers of an entirely different business (that's how franchises work)... imagine going into a new restaurant that took over for an old one with a gift certificate, and they say "hmmm that's not us, but we will see what we can do!" That's above and beyond. We are greeted with friendly faces and senseis that are genuinely happy with what they do. That is a direct reflection of ownership and management. We will be attending Code Ninjas for many years to come! read more

Our eight year old son recently completed two weeks of summer camp at Code Ninjas and we really can't say enough great things about the experience! He had an amazing time! He's not normally the type of kid to share much about his day at school, but every day we picked him up from camp he immediately wanted to tell us all about what he'd learned and worked on that day. The instructors (sensei) were fantastic and really made our son feel confident and appreciated. The folks running the camp were extremely friendly and professional, always asking if there were ways to improve the camp (we couldn't think of any!). This place is the best! My son has been going for several weeks and is so engaged and excited about the projects they make at every session. In addition to coding, he is already making simple circuitry projects and games. The format of the ninja color coded belt system is highly motivating to him. He quickly moved from white belt to yellow belt and is excited to keep progressing. After many months of online schooling we were relieved to see how seriously they take the covid precautions at this location. It's been so nice for my son to have some in person instruction again, he's missed it so much. Finally, I have to say that the owners are just some of the nicest and most genuine folks we've met in a long time. I truly love these people. They are doing a fantastic job during COVID keeping their facility clean and safe. They are HIGHLY communicative and are patient while I ask a million questions not only about their programs but how they are cleaning and disinfecting the space. But let's talk about the class my kid is taking. Minecraft Camp...I hate Minecraft. I hate how much my kid talks about it. I don't care about Minecraft. There is a three hour Minecraft camp going on right now. My kid LOVES it. He's learning things he never knew. The "sensei" who teaches the class/camp is great. Patient, kind, and funny. We're fans of the owners (who we don't know personally, we're not related to, and are not getting anything from - so don't think I'm writing this because we all went to college together!) and will continue to support them AND tell as many people about their location. My 13 year old has really enjoyed the week long camps. He is always excited to explain to me in great detail all of the fun things he creates in class. I was nervous about taking my niece and nephew to places during COVID but they are doing a great job social distancing, sanitizing, etc. definitely alleviated my concerns. I'm amazed that they don't have more reviews. My kid loves this place! In the middle of an epidemic, these guys are doing things right. The place is clean, they take people's temperatures, they have sanitizer everywhere, I always see masks.
