Been taking my son to his appointment ever since he was born. I was originally referred by a…read morefriend and I recently refereed my uncle. If I need to pick one thing other than WFH that has had a positive impact from covid, it us the wait time at doctors. Earlier I would wait for over 15 to 30 mins even to be seen. Now the process is more streamlined, efficient and was less than half the time when compared to pre covid visits. The staff here are friendly and I definitely recommend them.

My child went here from his first visit the day after he was released to the hospital (less than…read moretwo years ago) until his first birthday. We were, ultimately, not happy with this practice. We've since moved on and are much happier. We weren't that happy from the beginning, to be honest. I think we were ready to switch after the first visit, but it was much too overwhelming with a newborn. We wound up staying as long as we did because of their lactation consultant. The practice had a nice room for nursing moms (the building as a whole is very nice) that had been recently designed by the lactation team. Sue, who is the nurse I worked with, was awesome. She was reassuring, attentive, and worked to make sure that I felt comfortable with nursing. We also had an issue with my son's weight gain before he was six months old, and she worked with us on that as well. If it hadn't been for the lactation support, we would have left. Here's why: My biggest issue, looking back, is that Dr. Compa, who was our son's primary doctor (and the only person who saw outside of sick visits), did not notice that his weight gain was faltering. My son was born in the mid 80s for weight percentile. By two months, he had dropped down to the 60s/50s for weight. He bottomed out around the 29th percentile. Obviously, weight gain is not a rush to get chubbiest baby, but from what I've read, monitoring how that percentile develops over time and maintaining something approximate does matter (sample from WebMD: "No matter where your child fits on the chart, the important thing is that height and weight are proportional, and that growth progresses at a fairly steady pace over time.") I had to point out that my son's percentile was dropping so drastically; the doctor did not notice. She wasn't very concerned, probably because my son looked good otherwise, but she did connect me to lactation again (who I had not been seeing once I mastered nursing, but did develop a relationship with again until my son's growth was back on track). When I look back on photos of my son from that time, he is noticeably skinny compared to his first couple of months and then once his weight was back on track. It's really concerning to me as a parent that I had to be the one to notice and ask about it; even if it wasn't a "big deal" (and I think it was), that should have been something the doctor spoke with me about. I also felt the doctor was a bit rushed in her visits. I know they're a busy practice and that primary care doctors are slammed in general, but I felt rushed. I once brought my son in while he was sick; after telling me that he tested negative for strep, the doctor just left. She'd mentioned he probably had Coxsackie if he didn't have strep previously in the visit, but she never came back to talk to me about what to look for, what to do, etc. I was sitting there with my son still undressed for his exam for a while before I realized she was not coming back; there had been no goodbye, no good luck, nothing. Essentially, I felt like the doctor missed something important with my son's growth and development and that there was no personal touch. I also had an issue where one of the PAs was rude/dismissive of me when I had a question about how to alleviate the pain of my son's ear infection (in addition to the medicine she prescribed). I don't think she was even listening to my question, truly. It often felt like the practice didn't take the time to think about how it felt to me as a first-time parent to bring in my sick child and need advice and reassurance and that I was not listened to carefully. It was a very "I've seen it all" attitude. And please trust that while, yes, I worry about my son, I am not an over-the top speculator always imagining and fearing the worst and making mountains out of molehills. I just didn't think I was going to need to rely on Google so much for advice (from credible sources) after a doctor's visit because no one there took the time to help me understand my kid's illness and how to mitigate its effects. That being said, there are positives. Obviously, lactation consulting was a big deal for us There is a PA, Joyce, who was incredible. Warm, friendly, kind, and attentive. If she had been the doctor, we would have stayed. The building is always clean, nice, and up to date. The office staff are friendly. We never had an issue getting an appointment. There are service dogs there to hang out in the waiting room at least once a week, which is neat. I know people love this practice and it came well recommended, but this was not a good fit for us.

Just don't…read more... Bottom line, they take their general/family med patience's for granted. They expect you to arrive early and then sit around until they have time to see you......regardless of when your appointment was, and are outraged when you call them out on it. My last two appointment (one Office one Tel Med) I left after waiting over a half an hour. I get it, flexibility is important: 5 -10, min I have no problem with. After 15 min, its frankly rude and and after 30 it's down right disrespectful. When my provider called my after my last appointment...which she did not show up for (Tel Med), over a half and hour after the fact, saying that "Sometimes I get behind" (Note: this has been the third time she has gotten "behind") I stated that her inability to handle her case load is not my problem. At this point I was INVITED to find another provider....I intend to do so.

I spent 2 days calling all over and finally I called this office. I spoke with a lovely receptionist, Fran, and she was able to help me out. The MD's were not accepting new patients but their two nurse practitioner's were. I am currently seeing Paula Hayes, FNP-BC and she is wonderful. She asked a lot of questions and I felt very comfortable with her. If you are looking for someone that is caring and listens to you, Paula Hayes is your choice.

With his help, I was able to get my children the extra help they needed to continue thriving. Our family moved to the area 2 months before the pandemic began. It was a scary thing and everyone made things work around it. I called the day following SHO and the staff already had implemented a flow through the office to ensure everyone was supported and felt safe. They have a separate entrance for same day sick, a COVID testing tent, and the staff were so quick with returning phone calls. I personally have issues with anxiety and I am just so grateful for all around trauma informed care. It was something as simple leaving me a voicemail validating and taking extra time out of his day to make my tomorrow easier. He is personable and my kids are completely comfortable with him- so glad to have found him! Thank you so much!

Very bizarre experience. New to area and just started using this practice. Called after hours one…read moreevening re: a concern for my child and was advised by on call physician to come to office the next day (which was Saturday). I arrived and told receptionist that it was suggested I come in (I assumed they had walk in hours like many practices do on Saturday mornings, as I was advised to "come in.") The receptionist was upset as apparently they don't have walk in hours. I reiterated that I was very confused as I was told to come in, otherwise certainly would have called (so much easier to do at 8:00 am after all!) . She asked us to come back. I said it was absolutely no problem and we returned two hours later. Saw a physician, was a perfectly normal visit... got health concern addressed. Was very grateful. A week later I get a letter we are being let go from the practice. I swore it must have been a clerical error so I called the office and spoke to a nice manager who seemed lovely and said that maybe the receptionists and their team are "extra sensitive" because of the current climate of how patients treat healthcare workers. And with that said, she said the doctor I saw on my first visit (of two) also said they had a positive experience with us. So here I am... a mom alone in a new community with a child with no medical care. I even offered to come in an apologize if there was some sort of misunderstanding. Nothing happened that I would think warranted an apology but perhaps if something was "lost in translation" an apology to get things back on track is a good thing regardless. The manager said it was very nice of me to offer but was unnecessary and she would discuss with them once again what happened. She apologized and said that if something can be done she would call me back. She never did, so assume they let us go. It's honestly the weirdest experience I have ever had. I have no clue to this day what their issue is/was. Proceed with caution.
