I sold off my large music collection in 1991 to move from Atlanta to Louisville. The owner said he has been open since 1978. I will definitely be back to get more music. They have a great selection and great variety of books but finding a specific book is a bit more challenging than browsing and seeing what catches your eye. Overall, their prices on used books is pretty good. They advistise that they also "BUY" used books but I would urge caution when trying to sell books to them. They offer pennies on the dollar and the last time I took a batch of about 25 books in and got an offer of less than a dollar, I swore I'd donate the books to Goodwill or Friends of the Library rather than hauling them in here and being offered next to nothing. Summary - a great place to find good, used books priced pretty inexpensive. Bad place to try and sell used books.

I met some friends here recently to peruse and look at books before getting dinner and drinks. And it was fun to point out books we have read and want to read. I've also always enjoyed how B&N curates selections of books in its displays. I've discovered new books and authors to try because they were near other books I've liked. Also, during Christmas, I discovered how easily it is to order books online and have them shipped to the store for free pickup. I try to do the bulk of my book shopping at independently owned bookstores, but this proved difficult when I was trying to find some large print editions for my mom. B&N was able to ship it to be picked up next day. There's something always familiar and comforting about shopping at B&N. I'm sure I'll be back soon.
