I like others, purchased this membership completely IN FULL. I have a copy of the contract/by-laws that state annual dues are required to use services. Well, after using it a couple times, decided not to renew dues as it was not worth the savings. Told them this was why we choose not to renew. They would just try to entice with new offers -- always requiring a multi-hour long IN PERSON commitment. Always said no. Repeatedly said we do not want to continue; we paid in full so we won't pay anything further. They are claiming even though we haven't used the service, we still owe them dues and won't allow cancelling without paying for 5+ years of full dues where no service was used at all. After years of threats and telling me my account was being reported to outside collection agency, the latest tactic is they saying these unpaid dues are being reported to the IRS. I, like most of you, have been duped and misled, and signed a contract that had no exit clause. The outfit coming after you to collect the money is called Travel Center and is in Litchfield, Ill. I have referred my case to the Fraud Department in the District Attorney's office in Springfield, Ill. There is a simple form to fill out and of course, they will need all your supporting documentation, contracts etc. The form is not too difficult, altho gathering the documents and filling it out, probably took me about an hour. I hope many others will do this, the more complaints that are made, the more apt they are to investigate. Coconut Club is in NV, but the money collectors seem to be in Illinois. This is a total scam. They are tied in with Ultimate Excursions. The only think they are good for are giving fancy presentations. Once you have paid the expensive membership. You are tied in to paying a lifetime membership, which apparently you can cancel. When I asked how I can cancel the membership, she said the only way we can stop paying is when I die. This company falsely advertised their services and then refused to cancel the contract when asked. For at least four years they have been trying to bill me for services I don't want and asked to cancel. I initially paid $5,000 and then realized that their so called discounts are not actually cheaper than publicly available prices. They don't offer discounts or any exclusive access to anything. I asked to cancel this service and they refused without a substantial fine. They kept giving me contact info for another person or branches or even company that owns this company and seem to be hiding and obstructing responsibility. On top of the blatant false advertising, my husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer. We can't travel and are navigating end of life. Yet we continue to receive letters accusing us of being overdue and owing money. We don't want this service, tried to cancel within weeks, never used the service, and want the contract terminated. My lawyer is advising to file a class action lawsuit and we are gathering names of others scammed by this terrible so-called company to move this lawsuit forward. read more

THEY ARE A SCAM! Don't sign up. They call every phone number multiple times until you answer then rudely claim they can't remove it. They told me everyone on the contract has to pay for it UNTIL THEY DIE. Not even kidding. They say you have to sell it or transfer it to get rid of it. Received a letter stating if we go to "a" 90 minute promotional meeting we will receive a voucher for a 7 night Norwegian Cruise. Along with a voucher for Air travel, and a 3day 2 night Hotel stay. My husband, and I went this past Sunday (04/10/16), We were escorted into a Hotel conference room, decorated with travel props for China, Hawaii, Europe, etc. We had to listen to this sales guy speak for a good hour talking about "coconut club vacations" how they have been in business for 30 years, and have 250,000 members.He went on to show different vacation options, what we would pay thru a travel agent or booking ourselves online, and what we would pay thru their company. They did show substantial savings, BUT unless you already know of someone who is a member and can use their "friends or family discount" you're in for a rude awakening!! The price for that day was $7995.00 (after their exclusive discounts) with a $399.00 non-refundable processing fee, and $199.00 for a yearly membership fee (although that's optional). Okay, at the end of the presentation the salesman announces he can give only one couple an additional $1000.00 off making it $6995.00 You're not getting anything for this except for their exclusive concierge program who will take care of all the details of your trip. (and possibly a 2 week condo stay). How you get there is om your own. They'll sell you complete package deals including Hotel, Air, & Transfers. but for that price they should be sending you on a free "fabulous vacation". Of course after the presentation you have to wait until the "agents" come over to you. They ask questions such as What is your dream vacation? how often do you travel, and how much money do you spend annually for your vacations? They take their sharpie, and underline all the benefits of the club, then magically the price drops to $3999.00 for four years, or $2999.00 for two years both of these waving the processing, and annual fees. They gave us a few minutes to "think it over", pressure sales return, and now the price drops to $995.00 for a 5 year plan with the option to renew afterwards. We were not interested! I looked for reviews online during this presentation to the "coconutclubvacations.com website all you can read are editied, positive reviews. I checked the betterbusinessbureau.org website, (BBB) there were 3 reviews, 2 negative, 1 positive and no BBB accrediation. When I questioned this I was told by the agent from Coconut Club that they would recieve a "D or F rating" and only if the company pays the BBB then their rating would go up. Then I was told that the BBB is not relabile , I questioned them and asked aren't they there for the consumer? No response Now for this 7 night cruise voucher. Accommodations are an entry-level cabin / upgrades are an additional charge. Must be over 21 years of age and have a valid passport if going outside the country. There is a non-refundable registration activation fee of $75.00, and $7.95 to send in the form to receive your travel, and cruise offer. 90 day advance notice prior to trip. Traveling guests pay a fulfillment fee port charges, and taxes ranging from $229 per person for a 3 night cruise to $439 per person for a 7 night cruise. Only select dates - high or peak season results in an additional charge. Cruises departing from ports other than Miami, Port Canaveral, or LA in California are subject to additional fees due to limited availability. You cannot use the air and hotel with the cruise offer. read more
