Delicious classic Chinese flare in a small restaurant in a run down strip mall. Place was clean, service attentive and food solid. Half Order Hainan chicken- It was served cold as it usually is with 3 dipping sauces. Good seasoning and taste. Orange chicken- Tasty and not overly battered like other places. Shrimp walnut- The star. The shrimp had a nice snap to it which is usually indicative of freshness. Yum. Deep fried tofu cubes- Came out piping hot. A little on the salty side but still addictive. Seafood Chow Mein- It was ok. I've had better but still good. Would we come back. Yes. Recommend. Yes.

Friendly service, lots of parking. I got the hainan chicken which was delicious! And lemon tea and Thai tea. And cream cheese wontons were all good.

This is possibly the best orange chicken I have ever had. Super authentic and full of flavor. Staff was friendly. Vibe was typical for a plaza style restaurant.

Hole in the wall! We checked out this place after it was highly recommended by the ladies at the hair salon that we go to in the same parking center. When we arrived, the parking area was full, yet there was only one table with two people eating inside. They ordered immediately before us and their food came out extremely promptly while our order seemed to take disproportionately longer. The first thing that stood out to me was that the temperature was quite warm inside the restaurant; it was unfortunate that they didn't run the air conditioner on such a hot summer day. Next, the menus were very dirty and gave me the ick. I felt like I needed to wash my hands immediately after I ordered. We ordered the following: Shrimp fried rice Filet mignon Orange chicken Dumplings Assorted vegetables Total: $94.12

I had no idea that there was a traditional chicken rice store located in the city of Hacienda Heights. I have passed by this plaza hundreds of times when I use to live in La Mirada and cut through by using Colima Road. Never once did I have it until recently a friend wanted to have lunch and decided to pick this place. The parking lot is quiet and everywhere seems quite empty for lunch. This place is small but they were receiving phone orders while we were eating. About four different groups came and also had lunch. The chicken rice is delicious. I love their sauces that they give you. It is nice and this to me is a very traditional Asian style chicken rice. So if you are in the area I would say come give this place a try.

Cocoin Kitchen used to be my favorite Hainan chicken restaurant. However, we were disappointed with their Hainan chicken and wonton soup this time. We ordered the following on last Friday: -#10 Hainan Chicken rice $14.99 -#22 wonton soup $16.99 -#11 Hainan steamed chicken (half) $19.99? -chicken flavored rice (one big bowl) $3.5 Their Hainan chicken-flavored rice used to be very tasty and addictive. We were disappointed with their chicken-flavored rice this time because they were not flavorful and too dry. It tasted different than before. Their Hainan Chicken meat used to be more tender and smooth. They gave us less chicken meat from the Hainan steamed chicken (not much chicken meat from the #11 order). The wonton soup also tasted different than before. The broth was so bland and the pork meat inside of the wonton was flavorless. I also found a shrimp shell inside one of the wontons. My daughters used to like their chicken-flavored rice a lot. They kept saying the taste was different than before. Not sure if they changed the chef but it did not taste as good as before.

Mom n pop shop so patience! Service was excellent under the circumstances. Chinese kitchen for sure. Hainan chicken is a must here but I wouldn't call it best in the SGV. It's different in a good way imo. Tip: no white meat only; it comes mixed as standard but you can request skinless.

    Menu as of Oct 2025

Garlic chicken - it was okay Orange chicken - tender, flavor wasn't too sweet nor bland. Would order again Chicken fried rice - decent Singapore noodles - good. Would eat again Portions were big. Great for family style.

What a hidden gem! The dish to get here is the Hainan chicken. I came here a few times but always eat my Hainan chicken dish right away and forget to take a picture. Actually all their chicken dishes are delicious because the chicken is so tender and flavorful. It really reminds me of the Hainan chicken in Singapore! I have yet to see someone come eat here and NOT get take out after eating. It is so good that you just wanna share with your loved ones. The service is pretty fast too. It can get hard to flag someone but once you get someone, everything moves quickly and you will eat in no time. Sorry savoy kitchen cannot compare to this place . The chicken here is way better! Whenever I wanna eat Singapore quality Hainan chicken, I come here for sure!

This is a no frills hole-in-the-wall and only locals visit. The restaurant is definitely a casual location, with some cold dish items in large bowls in the glass deli counter and then there were pre-made & pre-packaged dishes such as dumplings, asian tamales and drinks in a commercial refrigerators on the side. There are only a handful of tables as the dining room isn't very big. There was a steady stream of customers for dine in and take out. This place was listed as serving Taiwanese food, but I feel like it serves more Chinese dishes than Taiwanese. They did have beef noodle soup with lean meat, tendon or lean meat & tendon. It was good but the broth was not as deeply unctuous as the Taiwan versions. I am Taiwanese and my relatives were visiting from Washington and Alabama, so I was hoping they had more Taiwanese dishes like oyster pancake, rice meat balls, squid vermicelli soup, gua boas, etc. The waitress and cooks were from China and not Taiwan. Maybe the original owners were Taiwanese...idk. The menu is extensive for such a small mom & pop type restaurant and had nice photos of some of the dishes. The menu was a lot fancier than the restaurant! We ordered beef noodle soup, bitter melon, sautéed intestines, string beans and it all tasted delicious. There was some picked mustard greens on the table for the beef noodle soup and it was the perfect add-on! We were all very satisfied.

Since then, it's become one of our regular spots when we're craving certain dishes that are hard to find done this well. It's easily become one of our favorite restaurants in the area. Our repeat favorites: beef with black bean sauce (off-menu), shredded chicken (seasoned well), crispy fish with spicy salt (crispy with a kick), typhoon pork ribs (put the seasoned crumbs on your rice - yum!), chinese broccoli with dried fish (love the stems), shrimp cakes (crispy exterior bouncy inside) and beef chow fun (tender beef and abundant noodles). Their fried dishes are light, not greasy and leftovers re-crisp in the air fryer. Their lemon tea is refreshing and comes with 1 refill. If I had to recommend just 1 dish to try it would be the shredded chicken or the typhoon pork ribs (or fish if you prefer). Or just ask the ladies for suggestions and they'll lead you the right way. Anyway, if you see Zhu Chicken, you are at the right restaurant! I got a crispy pork rice noodle with pickled bamboo and possibly one other meat. I can't recall. The crispy pork is a must. It's so fatty, but paired with a pickled veggie and that super spicy green sauce from the sauce bar, it was amazing. They give you a vinegar sauce, and you can add as much garlic, cilantro, and hot sauce as you want from the hot sauce bar. I went for a briney, spicy flavor with a ton of garlic and cilantro, and the resulting combination is something I still think about. Rice noodles were nothing special imo. They were soft and slippery, but didn't really soak up the sauce. You just have to get a perfect bite (or in my case gobble) that has all the layers of warm soft noodle, fatty rich meat, and spicy/sour notes from the sauces. I can't really compare this dish to anything, so I highly recommend coming here if you want something unique and bursting with flavor.
