Delicious classic Chinese flare in a small restaurant in a run down strip mall. Place was clean, service attentive and food solid. Half Order Hainan chicken- It was served cold as it usually is with 3 dipping sauces. Good seasoning and taste. Orange chicken- Tasty and not overly battered like other places. Shrimp walnut- The star. The shrimp had a nice snap to it which is usually indicative of freshness. Yum. Deep fried tofu cubes- Came out piping hot. A little on the salty side but still addictive. Seafood Chow Mein- It was ok. I've had better but still good. Would we come back. Yes. Recommend. Yes.

Friendly service, lots of parking. I got the hainan chicken which was delicious! And lemon tea and Thai tea. And cream cheese wontons were all good.

This is possibly the best orange chicken I have ever had. Super authentic and full of flavor. Staff was friendly. Vibe was typical for a plaza style restaurant.

Hole in the wall! We checked out this place after it was highly recommended by the ladies at the hair salon that we go to in the same parking center. When we arrived, the parking area was full, yet there was only one table with two people eating inside. They ordered immediately before us and their food came out extremely promptly while our order seemed to take disproportionately longer. The first thing that stood out to me was that the temperature was quite warm inside the restaurant; it was unfortunate that they didn't run the air conditioner on such a hot summer day. Next, the menus were very dirty and gave me the ick. I felt like I needed to wash my hands immediately after I ordered. We ordered the following: Shrimp fried rice Filet mignon Orange chicken Dumplings Assorted vegetables Total: $94.12

I had no idea that there was a traditional chicken rice store located in the city of Hacienda Heights. I have passed by this plaza hundreds of times when I use to live in La Mirada and cut through by using Colima Road. Never once did I have it until recently a friend wanted to have lunch and decided to pick this place. The parking lot is quiet and everywhere seems quite empty for lunch. This place is small but they were receiving phone orders while we were eating. About four different groups came and also had lunch. The chicken rice is delicious. I love their sauces that they give you. It is nice and this to me is a very traditional Asian style chicken rice. So if you are in the area I would say come give this place a try.

Cocoin Kitchen used to be my favorite Hainan chicken restaurant. However, we were disappointed with their Hainan chicken and wonton soup this time. We ordered the following on last Friday: -#10 Hainan Chicken rice $14.99 -#22 wonton soup $16.99 -#11 Hainan steamed chicken (half) $19.99? -chicken flavored rice (one big bowl) $3.5 Their Hainan chicken-flavored rice used to be very tasty and addictive. We were disappointed with their chicken-flavored rice this time because they were not flavorful and too dry. It tasted different than before. Their Hainan Chicken meat used to be more tender and smooth. They gave us less chicken meat from the Hainan steamed chicken (not much chicken meat from the #11 order). The wonton soup also tasted different than before. The broth was so bland and the pork meat inside of the wonton was flavorless. I also found a shrimp shell inside one of the wontons. My daughters used to like their chicken-flavored rice a lot. They kept saying the taste was different than before. Not sure if they changed the chef but it did not taste as good as before.

Mom n pop shop so patience! Service was excellent under the circumstances. Chinese kitchen for sure. Hainan chicken is a must here but I wouldn't call it best in the SGV. It's different in a good way imo. Tip: no white meat only; it comes mixed as standard but you can request skinless.

    Menu as of Oct 2025

Garlic chicken - it was okay Orange chicken - tender, flavor wasn't too sweet nor bland. Would order again Chicken fried rice - decent Singapore noodles - good. Would eat again Portions were big. Great for family style.

What a hidden gem! The dish to get here is the Hainan chicken. I came here a few times but always eat my Hainan chicken dish right away and forget to take a picture. Actually all their chicken dishes are delicious because the chicken is so tender and flavorful. It really reminds me of the Hainan chicken in Singapore! I have yet to see someone come eat here and NOT get take out after eating. It is so good that you just wanna share with your loved ones. The service is pretty fast too. It can get hard to flag someone but once you get someone, everything moves quickly and you will eat in no time. Sorry savoy kitchen cannot compare to this place . The chicken here is way better! Whenever I wanna eat Singapore quality Hainan chicken, I come here for sure!

The menu has pictures and describes what is included with each noodle dish. The signature noodles I ordered came with crispy pork and beef, and both were delicious. Anyway, if you see Zhu Chicken, you are at the right restaurant! I got a crispy pork rice noodle with pickled bamboo and possibly one other meat. I can't recall. The crispy pork is a must. It's so fatty, but paired with a pickled veggie and that super spicy green sauce from the sauce bar, it was amazing. They give you a vinegar sauce, and you can add as much garlic, cilantro, and hot sauce as you want from the hot sauce bar. I went for a briney, spicy flavor with a ton of garlic and cilantro, and the resulting combination is something I still think about. Rice noodles were nothing special imo. They were soft and slippery, but didn't really soak up the sauce. You just have to get a perfect bite (or in my case gobble) that has all the layers of warm soft noodle, fatty rich meat, and spicy/sour notes from the sauces. I can't really compare this dish to anything, so I highly recommend coming here if you want something unique and bursting with flavor.

Some orders are 10 skewers each, so make sure you pace yourself. We tried the grilled eggplant and it was a standout. The marinade was spot on--flavorful without being overwhelming. That actually sums up what I like most about this place: the seasoning is lighter compared to many other Chinese skewer spots. You can really taste the freshness of the meat instead of everything being covered in heavy spices. Also, huge bonus--the buy 1 get 1 bottled beer deal. Between the two of us, we somehow went through 6 bottles... it just pairs too well with the skewers. The vibe is another highlight. The place is filled with cute, fun decorations, and you can tell the owner put real thought into it. A lot of the decor has playful, alcohol-related themes that make the whole experience more lively and unique. Overall, great food, great drinks, and a fun atmosphere. Definitely a spot I'd come back to with friends.

The premium beer was a great pairing with the food. We then ordered the beef fat eggplant, cucumber salad, pork belly skewers, and snow beef skewers. This amount of food for 2 was perfect and delicious. All the hot dishes came out hot- including the skewers! The skewers look like a great deal on paper as it comes out to ~$0.50 per skewer, but keep in mind that they have less meat on them than a traditional skewer place. This was however, the perfect amount for the kids ! The cucumber salad was delicious - perfectly seasoned and the cucumbers were deliciously crunchy. The beef fat eggplant really shined in my eyes. The eggplant was cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of protein and garlic to bring the dish together. Would definitely recommend this if you like eggplant. This place does NOT accept AMEX so be prepared for that, my fellow AMEX card holders. Once we checked out, the restaurant also gave us an air freshener to go! It smelled good too! Would recommend !

The setup was easy enough, but the space was crowded and parking was a bit hectic. The food itself was okay, but not something I'd order again. The Lanzhou Hot Chicken Sandwich lacked flavor and the bread was pretty dry. The Lanzhou Potato Noodles seemed to be one of their more popular dishes, but in my opinion, it wasn't especially memorable and didn't taste all that different from regular noodles. I also tried to use the restroom, and although there were two stalls, only one was functional because the other door was broken and off the hinge. I ended up not using it and just left.
