A trip to the beautiful island of Boracay is not complete without a visit to Coco Mama's. Yes, the lines can be very long. Are they worth the wait? In my opinion, I think that you should wait if it is your very first time trying them. They are a take out joint. No tables for you to dine at in order to enjoy your treat. The majority of folks (including us) were enjoying our coco mama concoction right outside the place. After consuming the yummy delicacy make sure to dispose of the coconut shell in the bins provided. What makes Coco Mama so good? Well, it is quite a pleasant experience. Their menu is very simple. Step 1 is "Choose your size". Either choose small for 2 scoops of ice cream, medium for 4 scoops, or large for 6 scoops. Step 2 is choose "with mango or no mango". Step 3 is choose your ice cream flavors which is either original coconut or coco pandan. The entire dessert is placed inside a nice coconut shell which is unique. After it is completely prepared, you are presented with a lovely looking dessert ready to be eaten and appreciated. You cannot find this at just any place in the world. Now that I've finally tried them. I can strike them off my bucket list. Wifey and I were both glad to have gone here. Personally, though, I preferred one of their sister businesses instead which was Mango Mamas.

This was another dessert place on my bucket list in Boracay in station two. Had to try it! It was too pretty to pass up, and see all that fresh mango and coconut combined looked so good! Found this place in the D'Mall Palenke. Expect a long line, too. You definitely have it eat it there fast as the ice cream melts due to the warm weather. There are no chairs to sit down but everyone stood around eating it. I expected it to be sweet but it was not.too sweet like I expected. The only thing to make it sweet was the ice cream. The fresh coconut was good but mango was not as sweet this time. Not in season? Still good enough for me and definitely picture worthy. We ordered a medium with 4 scoops of ice cream. We did a half half of coconut ice cream and pandan ice cream. Definitely, worth a try! [11R,2024]

If you're looking for this location... it has moved. (On the main road near Station 1). We kept seeing people carrying around coconuts with ice cream and fruit in them. We searched and found this place. We looked in all the places at first where Coco Mama was supposed to be but we kept coming across their other dessert spots, Ube Mama and Mango Mama. There's also a restaurant/bar on the beach that serves ice cream and fruit out of a coconut if you can find it(Not affiliated with Coco Mama). Each brand has its own thing. For Ube Mama, Ube ice cream is the star. For Mango Mama, mango, ice cream, and shakes(the location we visited didn't have shakes) are the stars. For Coco Mama, it's eating out of a coconut. The coco meat is still inside along with ice cream and fruit. It was good. Having coconut meat with ice cream was a treat! If I had a choice though, I think I'd go with Ube or Mango Mama. The first night we went looking for Coco Mama, we had to walk for quite some time. After we had it and learned of the other Mama spots, we made it a tradition every night. After the sunset and relaxing on the beach until 8 or 9, we'd take off walking for dinner, find our ice cream, and eat it on the beach before heading in for the night. It seems to be popular with just about everyone. Give it a try. There are a ton of options and variety on the island... food and dessert. I'd find the Mama brand and try them all while you're there.

Delicious frozen treat! If you need a good relief from the heat and love coconut, you've got to try this place out! They offer single scoops of either coconut or pandan flavor vegan ice cream or you can get multiple scoops, served in a coconut with some extra goodies added in, including fresh coconut strips and fresh mango, with pinipig (similar to Rice Krispies). It's small on the inside and has minimal seating but it's air conditioned :)

We've been bearing with the long lines at Coco Mama's D'Mall outlet. The minimum wait of 30 minutes for this beachside treat is a Boracay rite of passage. I mean, there's another store by the Boracay Tambisaan Jetty Port Road in Station X, but why go there when you're already in Boracay's D'Mall. The place is only for take-out with one staff member manning the counter while others are hidden in the kitchen overheard chopping coconut shells and prepping the ingredients. With a basic recipe of half a young coconut shell, non-dairy coconut ice cream, ripe 'n sweet mango cubes, purple sticky rice and toasted pinipig for topping, this blend is just beachside dessert perfection. Cons: The two times we've been here, they've been always out of the coco pandan ice cream. Management can probably cut down wait times with more staff. Assigned bins for the coconut shells should be emptied more often. Do try them for a unqiue Boracay gastronomic experience.

Cute little ice cream shop at d-mall. No tables or chairs. Just eat your ice cream and devour it before it melts. I got a medium size with 4 scoops mixed with coconut and pandan with mango. Oh my goodness it was soooooooo delicious. The mango and coconut was all fresh. Ice cream was not too sweet and pretty light. The toppings of rice crispy and this purple stuff went to swell with it all. Service was great! Will come back tomorrow! Must try while you are here in Boracay!

THE BEST ICE CREAM SPOT ON THE ISLAND. And I have proof. My husband and I tried Mango Mama, Ube Mama, and Halomango and Coco Mama takes the cake. The coconut and pandan ice cream is so refreshing! Mango is sweet and loved the crunchy bits. I shared the large with 3 other people and I couldn't wait to get more. The station 2 location can get a bit crowded, so try checking out station 1. It always looked empty.

Coco Mama is a small shop inside the soon-to-be-open (as of this writing) Seaworthy Boutique Hotel, which is located right along Boracay's White Beach in Station 1. As part of the hotel complex it shares space with two other businesses: Percy Seafood (the main hotel restaurant) and Hello Sailor (the hotel bar). My cousins had heard about Coco Mama and had wanted to try it out whenever they were in Boracay - I was just simply tagging along. Luckily the lunch stop was at Percy Seafood and Coco Mama would be a perfect dessert treat to go alongside Percy Seafood's delicious shellfish options. The shop specifically focuses on ice cream, which you can get in a cup or inside a coconut shell. Virtually everyone does the shell because not only is the shell a more viable container when eating it on the beach, it also makes for a much better picture for your Tiktok/Instagram shot. The most common offering is a medium bowl four scoops of ice cream for ₱280 (~$4) Choices - ice cream: coconut, coco pandan or mixture - mango vs no mango - toppings include coconut strips, purple sticky rice and pinipig. My sister and I shared the medium bowl with two scoops coconut and two scoops coconut pandan with mangos. Pandan leaf is a common component of desserts in SE Asia and in the Philippines, is combined with coconut to make a delicious flavor called buko pandan. It has a subtle herbal flavor along with the sweetness of vanilla. Not only this is the best ice cream dish I've ever had in any country, this also stands as one of the singular best things I've ever eaten. Each individual component is fresh and delicious but is quite the combination when eaten together. Even mixing the two ice creams together tastes much better than separately. This was a perfect way to end a delicious shellfish-heavy lunch at nearby Percy Seafood. Keep in mind that with such a small space Coco Mama only has one small table for two people max. If you wish to eat inside Percy Seafood you have to make a purchase at the restaurant or at Hello Sailor.

If you find yourself in the D'Mall at Boracay you have to try Coco Mama. Coco Mama is coconut and pandan ice cream with fresh shaved coconut meat and mango as a topping. Its so creamy and delicate but not too sweet. It really gives off "island vibes." Hands down my favorite part of my Boracay trip!

I saw this place on a YouTube video of one of my favorite influencers. Bless her, she influenced me into the best food decision. Coco Mama is so! Good! I don't even like coconut meat much, but there's something about how they made this that is just so.. Tasty? They somehow made it creamier and flavorful and more of a dessert rather than just a fruit, if that makes sense. I really can't explain it, I have no idea what they did. ANYWAYS, it's just so good. The coconut or pandan ice cream, both are good. Light, tasty, and even healthy tasting. It doesn't taste overly processed, if you know what I mean. I was so pleased. They also add these little crunchies on top and it's the perfect addition to it all because it adds some texture and flavor variety. I can't say enough about this. I wish they gave more, is the only complaint I have, I suppose!

Literally one of the freshest ice creams I have ever tasted. They use fresh coconut and scrape the inside of it and mix it in with the ice cream. You can just taste the freshness of the coconut which was really refreshing. They topped it off with shavings of coconut and sweet sticky rice which added a nice texture to it. You also have the option of adding mango to it. However, you do have to eat it fast because it can melt quickly due to the heat. But overall, it was refreshing and definitely worth the money. The shop is right in the middle of the market so it was nice walking around with it in my hand while admiring the culture of the Philippines. The workers were exrtremely sweet and worked fast to get all the orders in. Definitely recommend this place to this place to anyone who visits here and loves ice cream and coconut.

While the concept of using a coconut in its entirety is uber cool, and it was the greatest coconut ice cream I had ever had when I first had it in 2017, this time in Feb 2018 was nowhere as nearly as good. Did they change the formula for higher margins or something? Still not bad by any means, but I no longer felt compelled to stay in line.

Really hits the spot on a hot day. Ice cream, macapuno, mango cubes, toasted rice in a hollowed out coconut shell. ₱320. What more could you ask for? Line can be long since it's a popular shop but it only takes them about 2 minutes to prepare a bowl so don't be too scared of a wait. read more
Second best dessert place on the island for me! Coco Mama is a series of Coco dessert. Highly enjoyed their mixed ice cream dessert. Surprise by the actual shaved coconut at the bottom. This was definitely a must too if you are on the island. Service was quick and friendly. And the coconut shell that they served the ice cream on was great presentation. No seats inside tho, but plenty next to the beach! read more

Came here twice and had the pleasure of trying coco mama and mango mama as well Out of the three, this one let me down the most and it melts so quickly somehow compared to the others. It also felt so plain compared to the other two mamas. Good prices, fresh, and dairyfree but still not as great as other coconut desserts I've had. Be sure to try the other two mamas in the area read more

They don't call it "The best dessert on the island" for nothing! Coconut & Coco Pandan Ice cream with fresh coconut plus crispy rice is the refreshing yet not too sweet dessert that you must have! Doesn't hurt that it's so cutely instagrammable as well! read more

Located in DMall area, station 2. Serving fresh made coconut or pandan ice cream in a real coconut shell with shredded coconut pieces and a couple of other toppings. You can get either coconut or pandan flavors or a combo. Ice was good & creamy. Long lines, friendly service read more
Not the greatest coconut ice cream but Instagram worthy. For about $2 US, you get a lovely half shell coconut filled with two small scoops of coconut ice cream topped with thinly shavings of coconut and tiny scoop of sweet sticky rice. I didn't get mango but you can get that too. The contrast of textures and flavors is worth the try. However, coconut ice cream was a bit watery and not as creamy as others ice had, especially the ones in Vietnam. read more

Coco mama is all vegan and all amazing. Your coconut ice cream is served with sticky rice and in a coconut shell that has been scooped out into spaghetti strands. As you bite into your ice cream you're also getting nice pieces of coconut and you can pay for additional mango. Consistently delicious and the presentation is great too. read more
