We had a great time tonight with our two kids eating their pancit and lechon. The food was fresh and delicious. The skin on the lechon was so crispy! We also had the ube turon, which the kids loved! The truck is located in the Area 51 food court (or was when we visited, it could move as they do catering!) which is a super awesome venue with a lot of local options and live music. Their Filipino food stands out as one of the best. You will not be disappointed!

Well worth the 20 min wait and actually turned out to be enough to feed the whole family. We also added on the Brisket Nachos and Grilled Cheese for the kids. The brisket was tender but would have liked a little more on the nachos and maybe would suggest house made tortilla chips but all in all they were still good. Although the food was good it was the setting that stole the show. Watching the kids play in the swings and catching fireflies while snagging bites of their sandwich took me back to my own childhood. Honestly a perfect, simple way to end an evening and take in some fresh air! A PERFECT hidden gem! Can't wait to go back!

The two people that were inside are the sweetest elderly couple! This was going to be my first time ordering a Hispanic/Mexican desert (such as this). There was a FedEx guy who had to be a regular because the older gentleman asked him if he wanted the usual. The order was so pretty I had to get it myself. I ordered the mangonita with chamoy and tajin. It's basically a mango sorbet with this tangy, sweet, and sour punch. It had my tastebuds going for a whirl! This particular stand, in the Rodriguez Tire Shop parking lot, makes the most phenomenal taquitos al pastor you will ever find. I was first introduced to al pastor about 10 years ago down in the Valley on a trip to S. Padre. We happened upon a little restaurant that shared space with a bus station and the lunch special on the board read "Tacos al Pastor". Unfamiliar and adventurous I tried them and was blown away. This stand serves them up just the same, three little soft corn tortillas filled with a spicy mixture of chili marinated pork, pineapple cilantro, onions, and a squeeze of lime juice. Add either the red or green hot sauce, fold, eat, and wipe your chin clean. When they say to stop and smell the roses once and a while, I think they might be referring to these little gems that mostly go unnoticed on the roadside. Give 'em a try, you just might be surprised.
