That's exactly what happened to me and a couple of dozen other people. You don't have the option to sign up online though because it would require too much effort of Motions' staff. In a city where everyone is stripped for time it just shows an utter lack of respect to rob people of exactly that. Also to not even apologise to people who had planned their Friday night around a class but to let them wait in a queue to then tell them one by one that they can go home just shows absolutely zero consideration or manners. A waste of time, I'd recommend you look for a different studio.

The studio has lots of light as there are lots of windows on the east and west facing walls. Classes are available for kids and grown ups in Tae Kwon Do, street dance, Capoeria, ballett etc. I have only taken the Pilates classes there, which are great. (Full disclosure - my wife teaches them). But if you are looking for a great teacher at a great price, come on by Monday evenings. The space is also available to rent for rehearsals. I think also for birthday parties.

Everyone told me that there is no swing scene here in Berlin and then a friend told me about this place. I understand that this sounds "typical American", but I fell in love with swing music after having watched the movie "Swing Kids" as a teenager. Cause of that I was even more shocked to find an active swing scene here. I have been learning the dance off and on for the last year and thought I would have to give it up when my company sent me to Germany. A friend of mine told me about this studio and I stopped in on one Saturday night to check it out. They do an open dance night every saturday. The first time was a bit sad...it was practically empty I planned on finishing my wine and going home, but got talking with the guy working there (Achsel?). He told me the place is new and I thought, yeah sure, that's what I'd say too! He invited me back the next Saturday to a free drink and told me to be there early, because there is a free dance lesson. I gave it a chance and it was great. The place was not full, but me and another guy got a lot of time to get warmed up and learn a few new things with a professional instructor. We sat around for awhile after that and talked, but a little later more people came and we had an awesome time dancing and even learning some German. Great group of people! It's an awesome little corner in the city!!

Loved the environment of the contemporary dance classes as well as the studio. The girl at the front office was super friendly and they offer 3 trial classes for 8 euros (an amazing price). They have all type of classes that range from open to all to more advanced and walk-ins are welcome.
