Their first venue opened in 2006 on Broadway Street in downtown Fort Myers. While there, they were instrumental in creating the Fort Myers Art Walk which has been going on for ten tears. Later on they became daas Gallery and now their current incarnation is DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts. In addition to running the gallery they stage different events throughout the year. Check out their Facebook page for dates and times. Today, DAAS is a cooperative that provides space for local artist to exhibit and sell their work. Support small businesses! The gallery is located in the Gardner's Park District along with other other businesses in the same complex including a garden store, coffee and food shop, and a butterfly aviary. Olga works alongside her daughter Leeza Arkhangelskaya who joined the business in 2013. According to the East West Fine Art website, they specialize in "contemporary international artists, with a focus on Russian and Eastern European fine art." There is a list of 80 artists on the website along with upcoming gallery events. I was drawn into East West by the art of Annalu who was born in San Donà del Piave, Italy. From the bio on the website, "the major focus of her works is on the theme of water, primeval central element of life. Water is the origin of all things: everything is made of water and everything returns to water, as the Greek philosopher Thales believed. An artist disciple of metamorphosis intent to penetrate the mysteries of creation, capable of assembling in­congruent elements such as resins and paper, bark and fiberglass, bi­tumen and sand, cement and roots, to create new realities, suspended worlds where alchemy is lightness." I am not an art critic so I am not sure what all of that means but I know I like it. Tiny colorful butterflies make up the leaves of trees while other pieces of art are colorful resin circles. Realistically it is all out of my price range but I enjoyed window shopping. If you are in the market to purchase, a Yelp check in can net net you $1,000 off certain pieces of art. I think that is the most money off I ever seen in a Yelp check in. Tucking that away for later. Seriously, these ladies are highly educated and obviously know what they are doing so if you are looking to purchase art in the Naples area, you will want to pay East West a visit.

I felt it turned out so beautiful that I wanted to thank him personally. Since it was an original we were hesitant to have anyone reframe it. Wow, what a beautiful piece we have. He had to touch up the sides to make it look like a canvas that would blend with the new floating frame. Excellent job. Nico and his staff were a pleasure to work with. So personable.
