I had a filling redone that was not urgent; the staff did not check to see if I had a waiting period before being able to get some services with my new insurance. I ended up having to pay out-of-pocket for the full expense. I've never had a dental office have this lack of regard before. Also, in hindsight, I don't think I needed my filling redone and wish I wouldn't have had the service in the first place. I think they push unnecessary services. I definitely felt like a wallet.

Over the years, I have met at least three of the dentists and several hygienists, ALL I've met have been excellent. They are kind friendly people, and they do not use high pressure sales tactics trying to get you to do work you don't need. I don't believe I've ever had a delayed appointment and I've never had a negative experience. Recently, I learned that they are not going to carry my current insurance in the future, but instead of dropping me, they gave me a nine month heads up AND they are continuing the existing coverage for the balance of the year. I looked into going to another dentist once I learned of the insurance change and that experience was a nightmare. I was reminded that not all dentist offices are as well run! They also offer their own insurance plan outside of Delta dental, if needed. Better to stick with an excellent, well run office than switch to an office that has horrific customer service.

I needed a broken molar fixed, the sweet people at CD didn't judge me for neglecting my teeth for thirteen year. The temporary cap procedure was painless! Dr Robinson Smith is both a genius and has incredible emotional intelligence (extremely rare combo). As a result, it's caused someone who is usually extremely closed off and apprehensive to feel incredibly cared for and well taken care of. You'd think a dentist would only be concerned with your mouth, but she asks so many questions and is insanely thorough and very much up for the challenge of solving the mystery of your body and its ailments and how so many things are interconnected. People are so quick to type out reviews of negative encounters and Id feel remiss if I did not take the time to give credit where it was due. If all doctors were like this, there wouldn't be so many people out there actively avoiding being seen.

I was told that I had FOUR cavities at that appointment. I had never had a cavity in my life, so FOUR seemed a little suspicious. I had to get a second opinion... I called and scheduled an appointment. Soon after, I received a packet in the mail which I was to complete and mail back. I personally would have preferred an online form to cut down on paper waste. The day before my appointment, I received a warm reminder call, which I appreciated. I am a **high anxiety** patient, and Amanda made me feel comfortable. She spoke to me about Colorado, family, pets, etc. I know next to nothing about dentistry, but Amanda did not report my gum score out loud. I really appreciated that as knowing my gum score only increases my anxiety at a dental appointment. Amanda was fantastic. Gentle. Kind. I absolutely recommend her. Dr. Oversen was professional and warm. My previous dentists have seemed professional but cold and in a rush to see their next patients. Dr. Oversen took his time with me. Very calming tone. Also very handsome, so that's a bonus. And it turns out I have one cavity, not four... I am feeling calm and eased of my anxieties in regards to my upcoming appointment with Dr. Oversen at Mountain Vista Dental.
