Just went for the first time. My doctor lives on the other side of the state, so I made an appointment here. My mother recommended it from her time in college. Now I'm not a stranger to eye appointments. I've been in contacts for fifteen years. I scheduled an appointment to get an exam and prescription for contacts (a regular visit once a year). They gave me an exam, put me in a different set of contacts based on overwear, and sent me on my way. Pretty usual. I got to the part where I pay. They charged me 150 for a first time fee (which my insurance covered) and a 350 dollar fee for a contact fitting (which my insurance does NOT cover). 350. THREE-HUNDRED FIFTY. I paid Dr. Cherry Cockrell 350 dollars to put a contact in my eye. Completely a surprise, my appointment type was changed mid appointment and I was not made aware of this price at all in the moment. Unbelievable. Don't go there. Update: after working with me through the misunderstanding, I was put into a different lens and charged the appropriate fee. I was personally approached by Dr. Cherry about this and she was excellent and handled it greatly. My opinion has definitely been changed. Update: I went back for them to renew my prescription. Last year they said it would be 81.75 - pretty normal. This year, however, they increased the fee an additional 30 dollars to be able to order glasses and charged me for an examination-something I didn't want but because it had been over a year, I had to have. I kindly reminded them that Dr Cherry had been gone the day of my appointment so I had to reschedule. So they informed me that my original appointment date had been 13 months out from my last visit. So I was intentionally scheduled more than a year out to pay more than twice the money. Miss me with that...HARD PASS. They won't get a cent more from me, and you shouldn't go either. read more

First visit to this eye center: Reception was COLD. Oh, the temperature in the lobby was normal, but the customer service was FRIGID. Reception staff sure does like to tell you to, "Take a seat." No smiles. No warmth. You'd think you were there to collect their souls. After the exam, we were told it would take a few days for our lenses to arrive. No big deal. When they arrived, I took my daughter's glasses to them to have them fitted. We were told it would be a few hours. No big deal. A few hours goes by, no phone call. We call them. No one knows anything about our lenses or glasses. We were told someone would call us back in an hour. An hour goes by, no phone call. We call back. This time, we're told they actually BROKE our glasses while fitting the new lenses. (No wonder they didn't want to call.) There was no, "We're so sorry. Here's what we're going to do to take care of this." It was just, "You'll have to pick out new frames." (My daughter is crying at this point because she loved her glasses.) So, we pick out new frames. We're told they'll call when they're ready. No call. We call back. No one knows anything. We end up having to go into their office to get someone to help us. The glasses are STILL not ready. Again, no real concern on their part how awful this place is managed. Just, "Deal with it." Sometimes, I can offer benefit of doubt, but there is no way this was a one-off. There were too many times in this FIRST VISIT their terrible customer service and overall terrible organizational talents were patterned behaviors. And just the overall dgaf attitudes from most of the staff validates how acceptable it is for them to treat customers like garbage. If this is ever the last place to correct my vision, I might cut out my eyeballs. read more

The office is welcoming and clean. The staff was friendly and efficient. I appreciated the large inventory of lenses to choose from and was assisted with much care when selecting the frames to fit both my lifestyle and face. Dr. Carson Gee was amazing. He is not only professional, but personable. He took the time to listen to all my concerns. The protocol he prescribed has been effective to alleviate the symptoms of blurred vision due to severe dry eyes. I will be back! read more

First time ever going to this place. I was early for my appointment. Dr. Gee was very nice but once my eye exam was done and I was taken out to wait to pick out frames. I sat there for 30 minutes waiting. Mind you I wasn't the only one they have a very big staff but instead of helping their customers they was in the back chatting it up and taking lunch at the same time. When I got up to leave the woman was like is there a problem I said I just need to pay my bill I have stuff that I need to get done today. She then got snotty and rude because apparently I didn't have all day to wait around on her to decide to do her job. My visit cost me 279.00 the exam was 149 plus 35 to to the full eye pitcher little do they tell you upfront about the other fees and surprise you with them. I would not recommend going to this place the help they have upfront are not friendly or nice. read more

I was waited on by Peyton. She was very unprofessional. She seemed to be brothered that she even was waiting on me. I was told she was the optical manager but her Customer service was awful. I think some training needs to be done in the customer service department for sure. Maybe it was a bad day but I won't be back. read more

i went to doctor Carson for a cataract due to eye trauma he tried to sell me on a multifocal lens that my insurance would not cover for around $3000 cash. could not afford it so i was sent to okc to have the lens replaced. the place i went to was filthy with blood on the floor tray leg and chair in pre-op. I did not get a preop consult with the doctor to pick the lens one was picked for me the op gerny had rust on it after surgery i was informed due to surgery i had a larger cataract that would now need to be yagged lasered. I did not get to recovery time was led out to the ride after surgery my insurance was charged $10500 for a lesser lens but if i would of had cash i would have got to go to Tulsa to a nicer facility for a better lens for $3000, due not waste your time at the 1 1/2 star Nicley decorated nightmare of a practice read more

Dr. Millirons seemed very thorough and caring. If he had his own place, I'd remain a patient. However, their billing department needs some work. It would have been cheaper for me to self pay, but they insisted on filing with my insurance. Of course, this means I didn't receive the 20% self-pay discount. Since my insurance didn't cover anything, I'm left covering a larger bill than I would have. They doubled charged me for my copay, but refunded that amount after I pointed it out. Compared to other eye centers, their services cost a lot more. Finally, order your glasses online; Cockrell's lenses and coating prices are way more expensive than what you can get online. It will be worth your time to shop around. read more

When I made my appointment for my 5 year old the girl on the phone was super nice and relieved my fears when I told her my child was very shy and nervous. Well I called right back to confirm the time and I got Missy and she was so very rude. Like night and day with the person I spoke with before. I thought well she's having a bad day. My child did so well with the tech who was fantastic. Dr M was also very kind and pleasant. We went to pay our $5 copay and it was Missy. She was the rudest person I have ever dealt with. Considering I literally had to hand her my card and pay $5 dollars! That's it. It should of been the end to a great visit. But in the 6 or 7 minutes I had to spend with her I made my mind up to schedule any further appointments for myself and my family with the dr down the street. The people running the front are the face of the business. They are the ones that make you feel welcome and keep you coming back! read more

Timely, professional, kind, and straightforward. I was glad that my doctor took a direct means of explanation, but I was a bit overwhelmed because he jumped right into diagnosis mode the first time we even met (my eye had a pretty serious pain and redness). That being said, all of my interactions (I've had about 6 or 7 appointments) have been positive. They tried working around my budget (aka not much money and a high deductible) while, at the same time, giving me the best treatment (several times my doctor would ask for a second opinion from another doctor on staff). I didn't have a cheap injury, but, considering the medical world, what's new? As far as I can tell (I'm no eye expert), Cockrell Eyecare Center is excellent. read more

I was employed by them and I would never recommend them. The Drs will let you go for no reason. They have extremely high turn over. The techs are very rude to the patients. They will degrade you if you are falling behind. read more
