Dr. Darichuk was so nice and talked me through the complete procedure also helping to keep me calm which was great because I am 6 months pregnant, and I was scared. About a month ago, that neglect finally caught up with me and forced me to see a dentist (a new one, but that's the subject of another review). I was told that there was too much gone and that it couldn't be saved, so I was referred to Face Forward. I should say that about 4 years ago, I had another molar removed by a general dentist and it did not go well. It took about 45 minutes and was not pleasant. So I went with more than a bit of apprehension. However, my apprehension was sadly misplaced. The room was set up not unlike a medical surgery, lots of hard surfaces easy to keep clean. The place has 3 or 4 of these with one having its own extremely competent assistant. The surgeon went from theatre to theatre doing his thing. After I was prepped and "profoundly frozen", the surgeon came in to do his thing. 6 minutes later it always all over. What a difference a specialist makes! I still can't believe it was finished that quickly. The only quibble I have is that they make you pay up front and then send the paperwork into the insurance company. As far as the facility and work is concerned, highly recommended.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING !!!…read more Hard to believe that I can sit here and type such a comment as the above when only a week ago I had my mouth opened up for a 5th wisdom tooth (that had somehow gone unmentioned by my dentist over the past 21 years). I can only assume that the dentist assumed no harm no foul if she is not complaining about it. HOW WOULD I HAVE KNOWN OTHERWISE ? Well, fortunately for me Dr Shawn Higashi took me on an emergency referral and scheduled me for extraction within a month of that first visit where he said many things but the one that sticks in my head "that is one mother of a tooth". I went into the surgery a little nervous because I was concerned about pain but felt COMPLETELY CONFIDENT IN DR HIGASHI I was right !!! Amazing care and attention Dr Higashi and his Staff were AAA+ I was educated prior to my surgery, and checked on 3 separate times via phone calls to my home (husband) in the hours and days following. I couldn't have dreamed of a more comfortable surgical experience. SERIOUSLY!!!! I doubt I will ever see them again because I haven't any need to, but if I ever see or hear of anyone having oral healthcare issues,.... YOU CAN BET I AM SENDING THEM TO THE NORTHLAND ORAL & MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY CENTRE - Dr Shawn Higashi Thank you all sooooooo much for making such an unpleasant health issue a pleasurable experience. Sending a surprise your way (Thursday) when you are sure to have the most staff on so everyone knows YOU ARE ALL VALUED AND SINCERELY THANKED.

About a year ago our son had all 4 wisdom teeth surgically removed by this doctor. Right after the surgery, my son still half groggy, I get informed that they ran out of wrap around cold compresses. They were sorry.... Well there we are trying to find a way to apply ice to my son's cheeks. This is BS. A fancy office, lousy service and to top it all off a ridiculous bill. We will be going to the BBB and file a report.

I recently broke a tooth so needed to get a crown to repair it…read more I needed to wait a bit for my insurance estimate to be approved but I went ahead and booked an appointment with Hometown Dental for a few weeks down the road, and it was perfect timing. The approval came through just a few days prior to my appointment. The office Staff of Beverly, Jericho and Lorraine were very prompt on sending away the X-rays and paperwork to the insurance company quickly. (It needed to go by snail mail as per the insurance companies request). The actual crown was done in one two hour appointment repair which included the time it took to prep the original tooth base, scanning for the crown, production of the crown and placement in my mouth. During the time that they weren't working in my mouth, I was able to relax and watch some excellent television choices. Dr. Brandon Hiang and his assistant Christine were absolutely amazing. I was so comfortable with them both. Their joyful personalities and our "one way" conversations ;) were very enjoyable. They provided the topics and I listened. There was no pain or discomfort and the new tooth felt amazing immediately after a slight touchup while I was still there. I have not to return for any reason or issues. A definite plus in my mind. I could not have asked for a better outcome and strongly recommend any of the dentists in the Hometown Office. In the past I had usually seen Dr Jamison, but as she was booked up, her recommendation to have the work done by Dr Brandon Hiang was very much appreciated. They are both skilled and terrific dentists. A five star review and treatment for sure. Thank you everyone. Kathy Waldron

Wednesday, surgery day, after paying up front for the procedure, Dr Bureau tells me he is not convinced the tooth should come out. If he truly had reservations, why wait till surgery day and not a day prior? I thought it weird to bring up. I repeated what was discussed Monday and he tells me that once the tooth is gone, he can't put it back in. Super condescending and I'm not a child. Sunday I hurt the extraction site and I call Dr Bureau as he's on call. Heres his answer after me telling him why I'm calling, "what do you want me to do about it?". wow! Why is this unprofessional unkind doctor even on call? Dont book your surgery at this cLinic.

I am 30 years…read moreold and finally gathered up the courage to get my wisdom teeth out after many years of my dentist recommending it. I was really nervous because my bottom wisdom teeth were impacted and close to the nerve, so I knew I'd likely need to go under general anesthesia. I am terrified of needle and all medical things really, so I didn't think I could go through with it! But when my wisdom teeth started to cause lots of discomfort (headaches mostly), I knew I had to get them removed. So I asked my dentist for a referral, and they sent me to Dr. Bureau for a consultation. The office is very comfortable, clean, and professional. The front desk staff is very friendly and approachable, and they are very helpful with health insurance questions and estimates! My consultation was informative and helped put my mind at ease. Dr. Bureau explained the procedure thoroughly, and I didn't feel rushed or silly for being nervous. They were very understanding. Nevertheless, when I went in for my surgery a few months later, I was still very anxious. I had done way too much googling beforehand and was stressing myself out. I was prescribed a couple 0.5mg Ativan to calm my nerves, which helped a lot (would highly recommend)!! The gal at the front desk was so sweet & understanding. She reassured me everything would be fine & had such a calming voice! She was very kind. When it was time to go in, I was ready!! They used a gas to put me to sleep initially, and then they inserted an IV when I was passed out. I am really glad they did it this way because IVs freak me out, lol! I took 3 inhales of the gas and was out like a light! When I woke up, it was all over, and much easier than I had worked up in my head! They gave me a tasty popsicle and a fancy ice pack headband, and I felt so brave! Haha! My husband had picked up my prescriptions from the pharmacy in the building while I was in surgery -- again, everything was so organized! The lovely people at the reception area gave me some more information and sent me home with everything I needed (gauze, syringe, information booklet, receipts for the insurance providers, etc.). Everyone was so helpful. After the procedure, I healing up very nicely! The first 2-3 days were the most swollen, but the fancy ice pack headband helped with that! Eat lots of soft food, like apple sauce & mashed potatoes, and follow all aftercare instructions, and you should be good! :)
