There's a huge selection of books, lots of intentional book displays, fun seating and areas for storytime & computers. SHOUTOUT to Irene, the wonderful children's librarian who answered all my questions about the library & about being new to the area. I wandered around the rest of the library before leaving. It's very large! There's a plethora of spaces for adults to sit and read or study. I look forward to returning!

I love this library. i go there every once in a while and i love it. there is a child book section…read moreand they have such a good selection of books. in the adult section they have a wide variety of different kind of book by so many different auth such as Colleen Hoover. that was such a big surprise!! they also have a study section and a section to print stuff. when you first go there to get your library card it's really easy to do. it's all free and the checkout book process is really fast and easy. in conclusion i love this library and is definitely 5 stars.

Seems like these library staff even encourage it since they seem to have the loudest voices and unrestrained laughter. People talk in the mobile phones in a regular tone of voice despite signs on each computer terminal to go to the lobby if they want to use their phones. The staff doesn't seem to mind it and they do not enforce it. This is not a library---more like a flea market where one are encouraged to socialize...where loud voices are encouraged with abandon. The number one practitioners are the staff---prima donnas at their best.

They have a very intensive calendar for Children, Young Adults, and Adults. The first time I stumbled in was simply to put in your documents and to use the computer. After seeing all that they offered I decided to bring my little man with me for Story time. Children's Section: The children's section of the library in sectioned off with doors and is a joy to be in. There is plenty of space to explore and a private room for more events. Let me start off by saying this is nowhere near the largest library I've ever been in but it still is pretty cozy to me. It's bigger than the Sue Kellogg branch in Stone Mountain. Redan-Trotti has more computers, tables, and seating thus making it a comfortable spot to read and study. The bathrooms here are usually clean as well. There's also a copy machine but no fax machine. The only downfall is that I can't bring in any food or drinks... which is understandable because some people are messy and there's carpet, computers, and books that people could mess up. I still wish I could bring in my coffee though for my reading/studying sessions. With Redan-Trotti's humble size yet the right amount of equipment (and furniture,) this will be my go-to library as long as I'm living in DeKalb.

I entered and we both got new cards and bounced. Then someone put me on to a library app called Libby and now I'm checking out books from my iPad and never thought about entering one again. FFWD to 3 days ago when I ran out of ink for my printer at the house and it was faster (and cheaper) to go to the library and print instead of running out for more ink. So I went in this library with that one goal in mind. But... all of that was tossed aside when I was met at the door with a book display that blew my mind!! On my mama I found like 6 books I wanted and they just GAVE THEM TO ME!! Like all I did was show my card and that was it. This *ish seemed criminal!! I forgot how easy it is to get books at the library. I'm shook!! Dead a**!! I'm ready to get more and I don't even know what the limit is!! I was told that the Clerk's office staff was not willing to file my paperwork/filings after visiting these public service/social service resources in person. After I left the Judge's clerk's office and the courtroom, I returned to the Clerk's office per the instructions of the judge's clerk. I was informed that they were closing early, although there was no signage posted. I have the skills to scan documents myself and I verbalized that to the staff on site. Nonetheless, I was informed that they were unwilling to allow me to scan and upload the court filings to their system due to an early closure for the holiday. I missed work and was docked pay to come in person to take care of personal court business.

That said, I needed to go to apply to get my property tax reduced. It's set up like the DMV: you take a number from a machine and they call you to one of the windows. In 10 minutes they called my number. The woman who waited on me was serious, thorough and efficient. She needed my wife's and my identification, car registration, and social security numbers. She could not have been more helpful. I was done maybe 25 minutes from walking in the door. And I got an exemption on the assessment of my house. That means I pay less!
