I walked in with 1 heel to repair and it was done in 5mins for $10! Superb service. I was impressed with how fast and efficient it was.

Upon dropping off my shoes, I was told I'd get a call once they were assessed. Weeks went by with…read moreno updates. When I started calling to check in, I was repeatedly told they'd "call me back," but I never received a single follow-up. Over several calls, I got conflicting answers -- first that they didn't know where my shoes were, then that they'd been found, and later that parts might need to be ordered. None of that ever happened. When I tried to get clarification, the staff were rude, condescending, and completely unaccountable. They blamed me for "missing their calls" or even claimed they had "never received" my calls, instead of taking responsibility or offering a real explanation. I double checked my received calls and hadn't received anything from them, so I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and asked if they had my number written down correctly, which they did. After a month and a half of this back-and-forth, I told them I'd come pick up the shoes myself if no progress was being made. I was again promised a call the next morning, which never came after I had waited two days. When I finally drove 45 minutes each way to retrieve them, I found that the shoes hadn't been touched at all -- not even disassembled. This experience wasted three hours of driving and a lot of time and patience. I understand delays happen, but the lack of honesty, accountability, and professionalism made this one of the most frustrating customer experiences I've ever had. I wouldn't have had any issues if they had taken accoutnability or communicated what was going on, I really wanted to support a local business. But it seems that I'll have to ship my shoes off to someone else to get them done, a month and a half of waiting with no progress or updates is a little ridiculous to me.

Having recently relocated from out of state, I needed to find someone who could put a lift on one…read moreof my shoes (one of my legs is significantly shorter than the other). I called a number of local shoe repair places and Clarke's was the first one to answer that had weekend hours so I opted to give them a try. Initially, I dropped off the shoe and was told I would get a call with an estimate. I dropped them off on a Saturday and had heard nothing by the following Sunday so I reached out via Facebook messenger and left my number. I was called back by Farrell, the owner, and given a quote, a time estimate and an option to pay via PayPal (they don't do credit cards). Once that was all squared away, Clarke's went to work on my shoe. When it was finished Farrell called me to let me know I could pick it up and explained a little about what he did to the shoe. While Bel Air is a bit of a drive for me, the customer service and quality of the work that Clarke's provided means I will be returning in the future.
