What we didn't know was that his license was suspended as he failed to appear for some ticket months prior. Poor form, guy. I tried to smooth talk one half of the good cop/bad cop configuration to no avail. The cranky one told me not to bother showing up to that detention center for a few hours. This advice proved golden as I ignored my ex's increasingly frantic calls. It was 3 am and there were too many phone prompts for me to handle each time, SORRY. Around noon I was able to bail him out. Shoutouts to Bond, James Bond for that. He spent 8 hours in the clink as a fat Jewish dude amongst a bunch of skinheads and a waifish guy in tights rolling his balls off. He told me he ate prison sausage. We got some shitty brunch. I think we're getting back together.

Hot on the trail of my ancestors! I came to Marietta to sniff out traces of where my Great…read moreGrandfather Xs 3 settled and bor children in the 1830s. Yes, almost 200 years ago. I really didn't know exactly what I expected to find so, I had no agenda but, to get a feel for the geography and maybe discern a reason they would head for Texas in the 1850s. Marietta is north of Atlant in Cobb county. I found a thriving metropolis surrounding verdant hills with huge trees. Looking closer I found traces of the old Marietta. Before General Sherman burned it in 1864 during the civil war. There are only two original buildings downtown left from that destruction. One is now the Marietta History Museum. I'll cover it in another review but, it is one of the best small museums I've ever visited. Visiting the Marietta City Cemetery gave me a feel for the Old. It's on a hill close to downtown and I could imagine from here, the coalescing of a small dusty town forming in the distance. In that town, my great-grandfather xs 3 became the 4th Sherriff in 1838. After spending a day exploring the area I didn't come away with anything you would consider "concrete". However, I do have the satisfaction of knowing they were here in the early days of pushing westward of our country. That's exciting to me. Especially in light of the fact that I'm sitting close to where they settled in Texas and I do know that history very well. My current day assessment of Marietta for those possibly interested in moving there. I found it to be a great little city that I myself would live in. It's got a special feeling that's hard to put in words. I talked to a lot of people and most are from somewhere else. Marietta is a great place to live, work, retire they said one after the other.

I arrived to conduct business with the watershed division of the city of Marietta and I have never…read morebeen to a government building that did not have restrooms for the public. How is this even possible?? There were a dozen people there while I when I arrived, meaning there are hundreds of people coming into a government building per day and there's not a restroom... This doesn't even seem legal... ‍

I thank the Marietta court, but mainly Judge Burke since he was the Justice ruling over my case. I was singing in Glover Park the last week of August when I was cited for violating the noise ordinance code for the city of Marietta (10-6-050). My first date for the court was November 1st. I went and pleaded "nolo contendere", hoping for a dismissing of the charge, or, lesser punishment/fine. I believe I was treated well by the prosecutor, Mr Smith, but still felt I needed to try a little harder to erase the charge. After coming before Judge Burke last month, I WAS given a reduced charge, AND THE OPTION of community service to repay for my 'violation'. Most of all, what I'm trying to say here is that the #1, Judge, #2, court officers, and #3, the ladies at the windows were ALL very kind-hearted and helpful. Speaking directly about Judge Burke - he has a very non-threatening, fair disposition, listening to your whole story while carefully, righteously, looking out for you like a father would for his children. Therefore, without any ulterior motive in making my review/rating, I hereby proclaim Marietta Municipal Court FIVE Stars!

No reviews on this place? Are y'all afraid!?…read more As a "civilian" this building is pretty big but unless you're getting arrested or stalking men in uniform, this place is pretty basic on what it has to offer the public. If you need a copy of a police report, your criminal record or have always wanted a Cobb County Police mousepad, t-shirt or blanket, this is the place. The ladies behind the glass do not smile. I tried to make a joke by asking if the t-shirts came with handcuffs and I got the same stone face stare I received when I asked how her day was. You'll wait 20 minutes for the smallest request but it is what it is. Thankfully, they have little glass cases of police memorabilia to look at while you wait to be acknowledged by smiley behind the counter.

I just want to take a moment to say if common decency and respect to people just going about their day is too much for an officer to comply with then maybe you have a problem. Intimidation IS NOT OKAY. Additionally I saw the same officer pull people out of their car and then drive across breaking traffic laws with no lights on just because he could. People deserve better than this. It was in the may time frame of 2019 off galleria parkway.
