For the last 20+ years I've been with sack now Colbalt they have been nothing but helpful, from the time somebody got a hold of my debit card number and started cleaning out my account to the time I needed my business account linked to my personal account. You really have to double check a businesswith a low rating because many times a complainer will hop on and leave a rating ASAP, while a satisfied customer just gets on with their life. I am proof that one bad mark has a lasting impression on credit scores. I was at 850 and dropped to 732 when Cobalt changed credit card companies. I requested not to have a new card as the benefits were not a match for me. I have been a member since 1979 with SACFCU then sold to COBALTFCU. I received a bill from the new credit card company that said I had a $6 balance carried over from the previous card. I called immediately and paid over the phone and stated I never had a new card or received any bill. I wrote a letter thru COBALTFCU Blair NE to the credit card company that COBALT contracted to and received a letter back stating that they had made no mistaked and the credit report "LATE PAYMENT" was justified. The terror goes on for 3 years now waiting for 7 years to come and drop this only late payment that I ever had. Even though unknown, they stuck to their guns and COBALT did nothing more than send them a letter requesting the error be fixed. My score does not go above 750 now as I am marked basically as a deadbeat. COBALTFCU has no Customer Service skills as they could have demanded this injustice be quickly erased. Credit Reports dont care about the circumstances just that a late payment was reported. All they had to do is ask that this bogus late payment be removed. In all my years since joining SACFCU in 79 and all my other cards have I ever had a late payment of any kind. I have a sour taste in my mouth everytime I drive by the HQ on 370 in Papillion. I am satisfied with my 40 year history with Cobalt (formally SAC Credit Union) However, today I received a letter advising me that my bank account was being moved to a "free checking" account. The letter mentioned all the advantages! My account is already "free checking." The letter stated dividends would STOP. Since my current account is "free of maintenance fees," this change is going to COST me about $50.00 MORE a year. Ever who backed this new concept did not do all the research they should have. An E-mail should not state it is advantageous when it is not. Am I going to quit the credit union . . . no I am not. Am I disappointed in management? YES. read more

We bought a new vehicle and the loan was obtained through Cobalt. This is the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER WITH A FINANCIAL INSTITUTION. I tried multiple times with the customer service number they gave me to set up automatic withdrawal payments from my bank. It NEVER WORKED. They obviously don't have experience with outside banking transfers??? Seriously???? So payments were taken out, put back in, crazy (this is all in a month time frame) So I wrote them a letter stating I would just send in a payment the old fashioned way with a check. Then I get a statement that shows 3 different amounts of interest have been taken out (in one month) SO --- back to the phone I go!! This time I got CRYSTAL in customer service. I was trying to explain what had happened, ask questions about the statement. Crystal is one rude customer service person. (To be honest, by the time she interrupted me several times and talked over me, I was probably starting to be rude as well! ) The upshot is that rude Crystal told me if I wanted to talk to someone else I could call back and someone else would answer. I asked to talk to a supervisor and she said there was not one available. Then she said I obvously can't help you so I am disconnecting. COBALT OBVIOUSLY KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE. STEER CLEAR OF COBALT. ******UPDATE******** Within 2 hours of writing this review I was contacted by the manager of the Contact Center with an apology for the behavior of the customer service person. Jody, the manager not only assured me that this isn't the standard for their representation, she also helped me with my original concerns. So, several weeks of frustration have hopefully been settled. I do appreciate her prompt call and know she is sincere in wanting better customer service. Thanks to Jody!! read more

If Walter Winchell was still around, his catch phase for this credit union...it would be a place that you would walk across the street to avoid. They give you a rate and then when it's time to sign....they don't tell you they change the rate to their favor hoping you just don't read the document. These clandestine acts are unacceptable in the business world. If I could possibly give less than one star I would. They have a representative working there named Laura that is the worst person Ive ever dealt with. My wife passed away and had a loan on a car for our 16 year old daughter she would not work with me on changing the title over so we could get plates. She berated me on the phone and my daughter, extremely rude comments especially given our circumstances. We owed 5k on it and she wouldn't help me, so we let the car get repossessed and I bought her a better car. Unbelievable the treatment we received. read more
