When I picked up my car, it looked like it had just rolled off the dealership lot! Their work was meticulous, and I could tell they truly cared about the quality they delivered. Once they were done with the repair, they even brought the car to Land Rover for a final check! I highly recommend this shop to anyone needing repairs in Rhode Island. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!! BE AWARE, NEW OWNERS I am from…read moreNorth Kingstown. My family and I have known Dan Crotty for years and have always taken our cars here. Work was always impeccable and Danny was the nicest, most trustworthy personable guy. I was recently in an accident and with no hesitation brought my car to Crotty & Son Body Works knowing that they would take care of me and my car. It was only after bringing my car there that I learned Danny Crotty had passed away and the body shop is under new owners. I picked up my car about a week ago and noticed a click sound when I opened my driver side door, where the car was repaired. Upon inspection, it is clearly apparent that the quarter panel was not properly aligned. The paint is chipping where the door hits the panel and the spacing between the hood and the panel is at least double than what it is on the other side. The rubber stopper at the top is not properly secured and juts out. The paint does not completely match. I called Crotty's to explain that the car was not properly repaired and I am unhappy with the service. The woman I spoke with tells me I need to bring the car in right away. I explain that I am at work. She tells me maybe I shouldn't be on the phone at work and mocks me for being upset. While at the same time speaking over me and down to me she rattles on about her 37 years of experience. With that many years, you would think a body shop would know how to properly align a panel on a car and treat a long time patron with respect and kindness. My car cost thousands of dollars to repair. They were happy to take my money and my insurance company's money, do a shoddy job, and then treat me like I have no value when I inquired about it. I will now have to spend more money out of pocket to get my car properly repaired. If you like to be taken advantage of, berated, and belittled this is the place for you. They should be ashamed to continue to use the Crotty name.

My car was empty in a parking lot in July when another driver hit it. I wasn't behind the wheel…read more There's a police report, paperwork, a conversation with the driver who hit it that I could have lived without. There is nothing good about having your car damaged in an accident. The only good thing was, I didn't have to think about where to bring the car. I already knew, because of what happened to my son. He'd been in his own accident, a year before mine, and I was in New York City when it happened, too far away to do anything but worry. Richard Porcelli did what I couldn't. He sent a tow truck. He took my son under his wing the way a parent would, calmed him down, sat with him through one of the worst days of his life. I wasn't there for that. Richard was. I don't forget things like that, and I wasn't about to take my own car anywhere else. Porcelli's has been on Providence Street in West Warwick for more than forty years, and there's a difference between a business that's been doing something a long time and one that's just been open a long time. Those aren't the same thing. You can feel which one you're standing in. My insurance adjuster, a man I'd never met before this, told me flat out that his company likes working with Porcelli's. Honest, he said. Good work. Integrity. That's not a word insurance adjusters throw around freely about anyone. I ended up not at fault, so no deductible, and Porcelli's set me up with a rental. Given how the insurance company usually handles that part, I was bracing for whatever the cheapest available option was. Instead I drove off in a 2024 Jeep Compass. I was pleasantly surprised, though knowing Porcelli's by then, I probably shouldn't have been. The adjuster told me not to expect the car back before August 28th. I got the call today, August 6th, that it's done. It still needs an inspection, and instead of telling me to bring it back separately for that, they told me they'd put it up right away so it would already be finished by the time I came to get it. Nobody asked for that. It just happened, the same way it happened for my son, which is really the whole point. Porcelli's doesn't perform well once. It performs the same way every time. It's not an exaggeration to say that Porcelli's will treat you like family. If you ever find yourself needing them, and I hope you don't, you'll understand exactly why I told you to come here.
