This church claims that they care about people and value relationships. This was not my experience…read more They should change it to: We care about 'certain' people, and value 'some' relationships. When I inquired about getting information (contact information) to attend one of their home groups, I was given the run around for weeks. First, by the group leader, and then by one of the pastors. This pastor finally reached out to me via text and said to contact him and he would give me the information I needed to get to the home group. This was not true. He beated around the bush, and beated around the bush. By the 3rd text from him, I still hadn't received the information. Upon trying to return a phone call to him, I was intercepted by office staff. She said she would reach out to the pastor the next morning and get me the information; I got no information. Instead, I was sent what looked like an AI generated text telling me that I basically needed to be "interviewed" in person, in order for them to decide what group I could attend. Huh? What happened to 'choice'? I want to decide what group I want to attend. This decision shouldn't be made by someone who doesn't even know me. I think the reason they wanted the 'in person' interview was so that they could scrutinize me, and decide from there. See if I'd fit into their 'community'. I've never experienced this from a church before. I am very hurt by the way this church has treated me. I am a stranger to this church and I feel like the person (stranger) in the parable in Luke 11, who kept knocking on the door; he kept getting turned away. Hebrews 13:2a, I believe, says for Christians to be careful to entertain (receive) strangers. It further says to practice hospitality. Something that it seems this church seems to know little about. Or it is reserved only for their 'members'. I heard the pastor of a church in Escondido remark that churches in the San Diego area are weak. I have to agree with him, as this isn't the first time I have been treated this way by a San Diego area church. Both of these churches were affiliated with the Calvary Chapel network. I did not know this before visiting these 2 churches, as their names do not have "Calvary Chapel" in them. I left Calvary Chapels over 20 years ago. And this current experience is an example of why. I learned the hard way that their hospitality was reserved for 'certain' people in their church community. The Mission Church would do well to learn more from their recent guest speaker, Alister Begg. He taught there recently on the importance of taking care of the needy and being hospitable. This morning, I received a return phone call from another church. One of the first churches with a long history in the San Diego area. This time the experience was quite different. I was welcomed and given the email address to their homegroup, readily. No beating around the bush or 'screening' beforehand. This is what I feel comfortable with. Just thought I'd share.

The service was under one hour which was great music was in the very beginning it was not too loud ... very nice ! Then the. Sermon began . There were 2 pastors a husband and wife. Very down to earth and relatable ! The topic was raising our children. It was awesome After it eas over we walked out to courtyard and mingled then checked out the kids area for my son who is in fifth grade . Looked like a lot of fun . We loved this church

I was referred by a family member who has been coming for years and they were so right! From the beginning and even now the treatment of respect and understanding from staff to the congregation is all there. The events they put on to help bring you closer to your faith and to communicate with other people is a bonus rather than just a normal Sunday service(s). I have been service with them shortly after and can say even behind the scene's they take the challenges head on to make sure that all are welcome no matter what and that the children even have a great experience so that way the adults can encounter God. I love to call this church our church family. Its not a church you attend but a family where you belong.

I recently returned to Carlsbad to attend my 61st High School reunion. I wanted to locate the…read morechurch I attended growing up in Carlsbad (Carlsbad Union Church) only to find the original church was gone and in its place was Carlsbad Community Church. I stopped in at the office and was greeted by a wonderful, friendly and helpful lady, Arlene I believe, in the office and she was the highlight of my trip. She was so helpful and genuinely interested in helping me get all my questions answered. She even attempted to get me in to visit with one of the Pastors, but he wasn't able to see me. I attended the Sunday service, along with two other former classmates, and thoroughly enjoyed the message (guest speaker) and the welcoming spirit of so many of the congregation. Arlene, who sang in the choir, noticed and remembered me when I walked in and she made me feel so welcome when she came up to my friends and me after the service and welcomed us. It was a wonderful experience and I would recommend Carlsbad Community Church to anyone looking for a church home and a deepening of their relationship with the LORD. We knew from day 1 that we had found our real church home and we've been here over 4 years now! The Pastors, Elders, and Ministry Leaders are all so amazing -- "worth the price of admission" -- but wait! . . . there's more! ; D It has quite a variety of people and ages and stages... yet still feels like it's a true Family. What we love most is that the "personality" of FCC is unpretentious, pleasantly interesting, and based on a pure & joyful passion for God. It exists for God's Glory, furthering the Gospel (to the benefit of every willing soul!) & uplifting God's people -- via gathering together for relationship-building within the Family (including God). FCC is a thriving church that, like a loving family, cares; isn't "trying too hard;" and is perfect just the way it is ...being itself. What else can we say? . . . FCC is a slice of Heaven on Earth!

The leaders are super friendly and accessible, and down to earth; just like the entire group of people involved. It seems like everything is carefully thought out to make it easy to go to church and become a part of a group of believers without having to be raised in a church. It's people who actually know you and care about what's going on in your life. Anywhere you go takes time to really get connected, but here it felt pretty quick and natural. No pressure, no weird vibes. We just started building relationships and it grew from there. The pastors really care about people. They're humble, down to earth, and you can actually talk to them. They lead well but you can tell their heart is just to serve, not to be the center of attention. Is it perfect? No. But that's kind of the point. It's real people doing life together and trying to follow Jesus.

The pastors here are amazing, truly inspirational and you can definitely relate. This church doesn't pressure you to do anything, just help build your faith in god. The church is in hundreds. We also tried to meet with Pastor Sam after he Recommend Recommended we divorced and he would not meet with us.
