Ed and his team are in the dying breed of true craftsmen. We brought Ed a set of eight antique…read moredining chairs that have high sentimental value to our family. After calling numerous shops in the area, only Ed immediately knew the type of wood (Koa) and was confident that he could completely disassemble and repair them, entirely without nails or screws, as built 80 years ago. He repaired their structure, re-laminated the chipped chair backs immaculately, and reupholstered the seats. Without instruction to, he noticed the details in the fabric and covered each chair in an aesthetic and symmetrical way. Amazing! Beyond all this, Ed even came in on a holiday to open his shop so that I could pick them up because of my schedule. I can't imagine better service or work SMA shop anywhere.

I can't say enough good things about Bill and his work. After recently moving, the marble top of…read moremy home bar was chipped and I was not certain it could be repaired. Bill gave me a fair and honest assessment over the phone based off of pictures I sent him. He was very friendly, with a great demeanor both on the phone and in person. He arrived promptly and worked efficiently to repair the damage. When the repair was complete, I was nothing short of amazed with the results. Bill's extensive experience repairing furniture combined with his impressive attention to detail allowed him to perfectly match the repaired area with the rest of the bar top. His prices for the work were completely fair and I would not hesitate to use him again in the future and would gladly recommend him to anyone.

He repaired a wood end table that developed some kind of unknown stain on it during the move. It looked very nice when he was done however within 4 months the repaired area became all sticky and discolored. We called him to let him know and then he requested pictures which we sent. After that he no longer answered our calls or texts and he never returned to fix his "repair". This man does not stand behind his work and I would not recommend him.

The bag itself was something that in total, could be replaced at literally a $20 cost but as bags of every sort have some kind of magical power over their female owners, this bag could NOT be thrown away, so, enter Brian at Port City...He broke away from "real" upholstery jobs to fix this obviously very, very, very serious beach bag situation and his charge you ask...NOTHING. For those of us that even after 30yrs of marriage can't understand the connection between females and bags of any sort, Brian's customer service OR need to have a comedic break, served me well...He got a customer for life and I got to dress out as a super hero equal to that caped wonder Mr. Clutch (type of hand bag for you younger men who one day WILL be versed in all things bags if you intend on procreating with a female).
