Dr. Lieberman and the whole team are Wonderful! My older dog Winston had a seizure and I called the clinic to get an appointment. They said bring him in as soon as you can! At 4am on a Sunday, our senior dog experienced seizures. I was in total shock and dialed their number. A kind voice recited clear care instructions and directed us to their door. Upon our frantic arrival, staff received us with open arms and wheeled my beloved dog back. Moments later we were brought to her side to usher my dog to the next level. While the experience was utterly devastating, the compassion and absolute professionalism was inspiring. It wasn't insincere but it was short and sweet, which we needed. Swiping your credit card after kissing your baby goodbye feels surreal but when I examined our bill afterward - I realized they discounted us for the emergency response and we only paid for cremation services. We didn't have much of a 'dead dog' fund saved up so this gesture was pretty powerful. Hopefully my review will encourage you to consider this compassionate provider. read more

Unfortunately COVID happened, but why is it that a much needed business establishment has to go from great to almost unacceptable??!! My two small dogs had a simple 2-minute procedure done, which took place in the back of my SUV. When I initially pulled into my numbered stall, called the phone number, said I arrived. Female insinuated that I was wrong about my stall number, which I wasn't! After vaccination, I waited outside for my debit card and receipt for approximately 20 minutes (pacing back and forth near the entrance) before finally opening the front door and asking for it to be returned. Meanwhile, the two female employees ignored me and carried on laughing and chatting with one another inside!! I was not okay with this at all!! and no apologies??!! no thanks!! read more

I brought my Gizmo in on an emergency case. We've never been to this vet but were recommended by Port Royal Veterinarian Hospital our regular vet. And from the time we called and brought him in we were treated with compassion and an abundance of respect. They knew we are 2 weeks from an out of state move and did everything to help us. They immediately got to work on him upon arrival and gave us a very fair bill for what they did. They looked into everything he went through with the shelter and took it into consideration with his condition. Since we were on a tight budget due to moving they also set up a transfer for him to our home vet the next day to help save on the hospitalization costs so he can get the most care possible. They went above and beyond and did everything they could to heal him and have him comfortable. I am forever grateful for them going above and beyond on every aspect. read more

We can not thank Dr. Parker, Dr. Lieberman and the WHOLE staff enough. We used to live in Beaufort but now live in Bluffton but we just kept going to our vet in Beaufort because we already had a relationship with them. Our dog was struck by a car and they are the closest vet to our house. They took us right in and treated us as if we had been clients of theirs for 20 years. I went to Coastal Veterinary on a recommendation. My first experience with them was good with Dr Reynolds. I recently made an appointment for my dog Junior who is having issues with his back legs, and I told them I want to come in with him, I was told no problem. I get there for my appointment and was told I could not come in because some employees had tested positive for covid. The receptionist who came to the door was not wearing a mask, nor were 2 others behind the desk in the reception area. So why could I not go in with a mask, because I am fully vaccinated? It made no sense to me, so I will be now going to LowCountry Vets in bluffton, where I can go in with a mask. read more

We took our new English Golden to Dr. Molly this morning and she was wonderful with us (new dog owners) and amazing with our puppy. Our girl didn't even flinch when given her shot because Dr. Molly had us all focused on the helpful dog information she was telling us. John, who assisted, was gentle and patient with our pup. The staff here is extreme friendly and have always been incredibly helpful with my labradoodle puppy. He loves going to the vet because he always has a good experience there. they were great for my late pup last year when our previous vet failed to refer us to an oncologist when they diagnosed him with cancer and then proceeded to push us aside. coastal got our pup in fairly quickly to offer advice and recommendations and although he only lived for another few months, they were very helpful and compassionate when the time came. however, recently, i have had issues getting my other dog in for urgent visits. twice i needed him seen asap for very concerning issues (most recently he wasn't eating or even drinking water because he was puking it up so i was worried about dehydration) and was told they do not have a hospital to admit him into for observation throughout the day (my previous vet did this) and said we could wait until 6pm when the emergency vet came if we wanted or wait two days for an appointment. i recently got a foster dog who needs her anal glands expressed and they told me they can't see her for 3 weeks. so, basically, they are good for routine visits, but anything minor or urgent, i wouldn't recommend them for. read more

Money is their priority. The receptionist ladies are amazing and so kind and caring. But with my experience the amount of judgment I received from the veterinarian is degrading. Dr. Michelle Martin was her name. i hope to never see ur face again. The only word that was coming out of that woman's mouth was money. "if i'm not financially or emotionally stable maybe it's time to look into other options" "financial" "financial" okay what about the care i'm requesting? what about the questions i'm asking ? what about the tears that are pouring down my face in regards to my animal that I brought to you for help and guidance ? oh I forget that's totally besides the point right because i'm not "financially and mentally stable" from your ignorant and false judgment ? You were so rude and bitter. I will NOT be coming back to this clinic. I felt that my needs were only met when I was signing off the paperwork for paying portion of the appointments. I was not taken seriously maybe due to my age and my young demeanor. the lack of effort, care and clearly interest was so prominent. Thank you for for not caring about me or the help and guidance I was looking for. To top everything off as well his name was misspelled every time I came in and fixed. it every time. I was there about 4-5 times in all too. The claw paw print I received had his named misspelled and pressed into it and the claw pay prints weren't even pressed in deep enough to show my late baby's prints. it was stored poorly and had all the creasing and indentions all over it.I did my part, WHY DIDNT YOU GUYS DO YOURSSSS?! i'm left with nothing but tears and dissatisfaction. Remember why you do what you do. to help people. To be kind. To teach and help and guide. Clearly ur passion for helping one another has disappeared. that's so sad. But she loves Dr. Parker, the excellent, friendly, patient staff, and we always leave happy. They also board pets as well as do at home pet sitting. AWFUL! Everyone I came into contact with at Coastal is awful. My dog was diagnosed with heart worm and the vet gave me a printout on the treatment they were going to do and rushed me out the door. They never discussed options, didn't educate me on protocols, and made me think treatment had to start immediately so I didn't have time to look into other options. The person at the desk then scheduled the treatment on the wrong dates, despite me telling her what the vet had said. I had to call 3x then go into the vet in person to get them to change the date of the treatment to match the protocol given to me by the vet. There was so much miscommunication between everyone in that office. I called with questions and the vet never called me back, I finally got a call back from a tech a week later that wasn't able to answer my questions. Also, many times that I called with questions I was told by whoever answered the phone that they don't have the information I needed and acted irritated that I called. Once I called around other vets I realized that Coastal was not providing my dog with quality care as they only gave him 1 heart worm test before rushing treatment, they did not offer any x-rays or blood work, which I was told by all other places was standard and safe practice. And they are overpriced for the terrible quality of services they provide. They do not care about your animals, they care about getting people in and out and making money. I will NEVER take my dog back there. I am disgusted with the "care" that was provided by them. read more

ZERO STARS: It has taken me some time to even be able to speak of what happened to me and my precious pet at this place, let alone write about it. However, for the sake of saving someone else the horrific agony that I have endured (and am still enduring) in the hands of this team, it is time. I brought my cat here because he seemed to be a BIT lethargic and was not eating as much for a day or two (he was a big eater). He was my baby and I'm a protective pet Mama, so I was anxious and tried to get him in immediately. Dr. Molly Spears was attending, Ashley was the Tech and Dr. Parker received him when we had to immediately return...and we had to return fast because my cat was sent into shock when a mere 5 minutes down the road after our visit here. 1) Far too many tests, pokes and prods were done in 1 visit, tests I didn't know were happening, not only terrifying my baby, but running up my bill. They said he had fluid on his abdomen. Not good, but from my understanding after speaking w/OTHER TRUSTED VETS, not something that normally causes immediate death. 2) When I asked what they gave him that could have caused shock, the person on phone said they gave a narcotic. WHY? I have no idea. When returning w/a panting, nearly passed out cat, who's belly was now getting bigger by the moment, they all denied giving him anything. What was going on? Did they burst something? Give him an unsanitary needle? Give him a drug he had a bad reaction to? I don't know. Why did they send us home? What professional wouldn't have seen he was moments from a medical emergency? 3) They were supposedly stabilizing him after we rushed back and then hours later I'm brought back in to say goodbye...after they refused to let me see him sooner! I didn't even get to be w/him the last few hours of his little life and it certainly appears that whatever happened behind closed doors most likely took my baby's life! HE DIED IN THIS CLINICS CARE when I thought we were maybe going in for some antibiotics or something. They said his heart stopped...and yet, when picking up his ashes days later, EUTHANASIA was on my bill!! I did NOT authorize that...but once again, they denied they administered that, stating computer error, yet I was STILL charged for it and I watched him take his last breath on their table. The medical records I asked to have a copy of took 30 minutes to photo copy and had false information on it. Upon entering their office the 1st time I never used the term "crashing" which they had in quotes. That is a medical term and one I did not use and my cat was not even close to such a condition, he was purring and jumping up on boxes that morning and wandering around the exam room when I first entrusted him to their care. Even after the results from the tests came back, they NEVER did give me an answer for what caused the alleged fluid to begin with. If there was an underlying condition at all, I'll never know, but for a near $1000.00 worth of charges I should have been given some kind of diagnosis. I wasn't. Even worse, the compassion from Spears was nonexistent and I even felt a condescending manner relayed by Parker. I cannot begin to relay how much pain this has and still causes me. This precious animal was one of a kind, truly like my child, my baby...and when my Husband told Spears that, her response was ... "that's what everybody says." Everyone makes mistakes, IF they did and if they would have admitted that and shown some remorse or at least some care and compassion, perhaps healing would have come more quickly. I hope and pray you have not had the same experience here, but if you have, I'd like to know. read more
