I called the day before my scheduled trip to schedule my 4:00 am trip from Hampton to Norfolk airport. I searched their driver info that morning and nothing came up. I called Coastal at 4:00 am. They told me they were still searching for a driver. I called back at 4:10 am and they were still searching. they asked when I called in. Noon the day before and I had a confirmation #. I have used them for the last 6 years without any issues. Will never use them again. My brother took me to the airport. I gladly paid him the fee I would have paid Coastal. read more

Professional and courteous showed up for on time. Took the shortest route. I was rushing and forgot my cell phone. Driver asked me what time my flight was after I told him he said we had enough time to got back for my phone and still make my flight on time which we did. Great job. read more

We used Coastal Ride for a 4:30 AM trip to ORF on the recommendation of our hotel. We booked the night before, and were impressed when taxi 86 arrived at precisely 4:30 AM (he called a few minutes before to assure us he would be there). The trip was more expensive than Uber but worthwhile to be able to reserve ahead for a guaranteed pick-up. read more

Horrible customer service lady. A week or so ago we called them at 9:30pm to get someone to pick us up in Norfolk and take us back to Hampton but the taxi required a special pass to get where we needed. The lady that deals with this was so rude and was raising her voice at me because I was trying to get the address of where we were (Chrysler Hall) and since it has like 3 different addresses I was trying to get the one closest. I finally snapped back and was like "give me a minute I'm trying to find the correct one". So she puts it in and hangs up on me before confirming it all. My husband then realizes I gave them the address of a further area so we call back quickly and she puts it in and done. A taxi calls at 10 and says they are here. It's a taxi without a pass and that's a no go. We call back 4 times (she hung up on us twice again) from 10-10:40pm trying to figure out where our taxi is and it's not till 10:45pm that someone finally came!!! Apparently they didn't put it in? Not sure how that happened. We had just ordered a Uber because we were the LAST people standing out in front and it was getting late. Uber came in like 5 min but the taxi showed up at the same time and so unfortunately we had to take the taxi. I called the company the next day to file a complaint and still no word from the manager whom I left a voicemail with. Absolutely horrible company. The guy that didn't have a pass showed up fast (good job on that part) but god forbid you need someone right away and require a special pass to get where you're going. read more

Schedule a pick ride using their call services according to the schedule is was completed but never saw the driver...No show!!

I called ahead to get a ride to the train station in Norfolk a day ahead of time. Recieved a confirmation code. Waited for the cab & when calling to inquire why my ride wasn't there, the automated system said they were searching for a driver & couldn't give me a wait time. Luckily a friend was able to take me where I needed to be but was very disappointed in this service. I gave 1 star because in the past I've used this company with great results. But when your needing to be somewhere at a certain time, service is unreliable. read more

The lady on the phone was extremely rude and hard of hearing. She asked me the exact address of where I was going, so I was pulling it up on Google and I told her as much. She hung up on me immediately after I told her I was pulling it up. I've used these cabs multiple times and they are a mess. Not only are they overpriced, but my cab caught a flat once and the driver continued to charge me. He left the meter running while he failed to fix the flat. Eventually, a second cab came and picked me up but the idiot took me to the wrong base. I told him as much while we were heading there and he drove me to the right base, but still counted the meter for the time he drove me in the wrong direction. The few other times I've used them I was waiting for literal hours. I only used them repeatedly because I was on TAD orders and didn't care. Uncle Sam was paying for these taxis, so it's no skin off my nose, really. But then I learned Uber/Lyft rides are in fact claimable as taxis on your travel claim. TL;DR: use an Uber instead. It's cheaper, more reliable, reimbursable as a taxi if it's being used for official business, and you don't have to deal with an asshole operator. read more

Shut down your buisness. Never call this company if you have any where to be at a certain time . Never have cabs available . Don't waist your time . Call Uber or Lyft and be there when you're supposed to be there . Forcwd me to put a star. Zero stars is what I give. read more

Terrible experience. Our driver in Taxi 99 had a companion with him which was odd; it doesn't take 2 people to drive a cab. But that wasn't the issue. Our driver must have thought we were fools because he totally took the LONG way from Ghent to the airport. He went the opposite way down to the 264 on-ramp downtown then to 64 then the second exit he could have taken to get us to the airport. App estimate was $19, final charge $31.50. Outrageous! I would have driven and paid the long term parking cause now that will have been cheaper. At one point, I even pointed out that he should be turning and he was like "you want to get lost? We have to go to St. Paul's. Let me take you to the airport." He turned off his GPS screen but the guidance was still giving directions but in the route I would expect. So he was being shady AF! Once we had our bags and I paid, I let him know he took the long way and the ride should have been under $20. And he was like "oh well that's the way I know..." I'm pissed and now will likely never use a cab here again at least this one. Ubers and Lyfts in Hampton Roads are scarce now, I guess due to COVID, but I'd rather use them than dishonest cab drivers. read more

The 1 star is for having an actual phone number. The taxi never arrived, so I can't give them a rating better than 1 star. All I needed was a simple ride to work. I usually ride Uber, but lost my phone a week prior to this. Figured this would be a good solution until I get my new phone. Well, I made the call and ended up standing outside for an hour. Missed work for the night. I will never try to use this service again, nor will I suggest it to anyone. read more

I booked a taxi online last night for an early morning appointment. I received a confirmation email and then a phone call from my drive when they were 15 mins out. Mr. Rafael Clemente was friendly and very safe with his driving. I understand that people have all different experiences with individual drivers through this service but I have had to rely on Coastal Ride about 4 times this last week and they have always come through for me. Thanks and try to get Mr. Clemente to train your new drivers. read more

Didn't show up for my 8:15 am pickup this morning. Called last night to schedule. Confirmed using the automated menu this morning. But, NO SHOW and we had to catch a train. Called at 8:20 to ask if the taxi was on the way. Took 5 min for human to pickup. Woman said 'we can send a cab now' but declined to say when it might arrive. Sketchy company. I called the number for Yellow Cab and got this 'Coastal Ride' POS. NO SHOW and will never use again. Complete crap of a business. read more

Any military aircrew using this company to transit between NGU & off base lodging, you're better off just getting UBERs to the gate then having ATOC pick you up from there. Cabs for 7 adults + luggage were reserved in advance, but only one cab was sent and would not even seat 7 people, let alone luggage. Communication within the company is poor and even reserving in advance and confirming prior will not guarantee a taxi will arrive on time, if at all. read more

After my last experience on 5/18 and my message sent directly to the company, the Operations Manager contacted me the next day. He was very apologetic for the poor customer service I received and wanted to make it right. He offered to comp my next ride and ensured me that my next experience would be much better. My driver would be on time and communicate with me if there were any issues. 5/31/2022- I scheduled my ride on the app for 5/29 and reached out to the operations manager and let him know I was going to use the service again. He provided me with the driver's name and the cab #. The driver called me the day I scheduled to ensure that he would be on time or possibly early. On the day of the ride, the driver contacted me and let me know that he would not be early but right on time. Once the driver arrived he called to inform me. He greeted me and helped with my bags. We arrived at my destination without a hitch. I am happy my message to the company did not go unnoticed and that Coastal Ride wanted to right a wrong. read more

Because they take to long to get a driver to pick us up and made us late where we need to be

Looking for a completely unreliable service that fucking sucks? Come no further. Completely unreliable fucks didn't pick me up for 2 hours and when I finally got a call it was at my house and they asked me for a cancellation fee for making them drive out there. :) (I am 73 years old.) read more

Terrible service. Made a reservation for two vans as my family and I were arriving from Italy to Norfolk at 2AM with 2 digs, 4 kids and lots of luggage. I requested email confirmation of my reservation, which they said they could not provide. We arrived to find out that our vans decided to pick up other families. Other taxi drivers said this is typical of Coastal Taxi service. I called to complain and request two new vans, which they again failed to send despite telling me they were dispatched. Worst service ever. read more

It's currently 6:03 and I scheduled a ride to the NN Airport for 5:03. I ended up having to drive and pay parking fees because this crappy, unprofessional, unreliable taxi service never showed up. Don't use them or you'll be stuck waiting read more

ripped off by being over charged by driver Kelvin White. complained to company with no response. stay away from this business.

I, a person who never writes bad reviews, cannot caution you NOT to use this business yourself! They didn't contact me when the driver was late even though they accepted my appointment hours in advance on the app. When I called, they said that even though the app said the job had been accepted, no driver was assigned to me. None would be coming. I would go on to miss my very important doctors appointment...because even tho I booked on the app hours in advance they didn't tell me that they would leave me hanging until I was already late for my appointment. Do you want to miss your doctors appointment or meeting? Then pick this company. They weren't apologetic at all. They must do this to people routinely....why would you even go into business if this is the quality of service you intend to provide? read more

Called for a taxi a hour before really necessary and the voice says "your cab is on the way" but 45 minutes later receive a robocall "we're trying to find a cab". 15 minutes later, still no taxi, so I cancelled the cab and desperately tried to find a way to my appointment. Horrible service ! read more

We needed a cab from ORF to our hotel parking at 9pm and Clay was our driver! His kindness, helpfulness and friendliness was the best all three of us have ever experienced!!! He loaded, unloaded and reloaded into our vehicle all of our luggage, offered to stop for anything we may have needed on out way, asked how the temperature in the car was, and lastly waited until he was sure our car started! We will definitely use the service and request Clay next time we are in Norfolk. read more

Never showed for scheduled airport ride, and never communicated. I'm not sure how this place stays in business.

I wish i could give 0 stars. Tried to use this company two times. Both times they scheduled my pick up that I called for hours in advance. Everything seemed smooth. Neither time did they show up. When I called to ask where the two vans i reserved 4 hours in advance were I was told "we're still looking for a driver if they don't come in 20 minutes call us back" and then hung up. Don't use this company ! Alba Taxi saved us multiple times. Give them all your business. read more

First they picked up the wrong person and then I had to wait two more hours for a taxi and when they did come they were fucking rude.

Worst taxi service ever. I would rate "0" if I could. I reserved a taxi two days in advance for a 5:30 AM pickup. They never showed up and when I finally spoke with a driver at 6 AM he was belligerent like I was doing him a favor. Had to wake my wife to go to the airport. read more

I have to start my review by saying my experience I had with this company is one of the worst I have had in quite sometime. The initial handicap pick up ride went well and the driver was courteous. I scheduled a pick up the same day for 1045, around 1120 I received a message that the driver was enroute, around 1215 the driver had not arrived. I contacted the company, I informed the rep on the phone that we were still waiting on our ride, she said "I am so sorry for what happened" without further explanation. She said she was going to inform dispatch that we were a priority and someone would call. After waiting about thirty min no phone call or ride. I called back, the rep said she was transferring me to dispatch, which she did but no one answered. By this time I am perturbed. I call back and the rep abruptly asked if I wanted her to cancel the ride. I didn't because we still needed a ride. She said I can talk to dispatch and transferred me, again no one answered. My son in a wheel chair and I ended up walking home about 1.5 miles. I can't say I will never use this company again but I am sure I will need time but they will be my last resort. read more
