We have used them several times since we moved here earlier this year. Like everything else in the RGV, they move at a slower pace. After our first visit, they have recognized us and remembered us. I stopped in here to mail something and it was a complete disaster. Prices were crazy; which I'm not sure is their choice or if they are told what to charge based on the area. I would expect so much more from a business that when you walk in that it should look professional and be well staffed to assist you. Super disappointed with price and environment. Coastal Mail has had ownership changes in the 5 1/2 years I have lived in Port Isabel. I supported Mike and Linda the first owners I met and then Karen and her family. They were courteous, friendly and efficient. The new owner has no customer loyalty or curtesy. I have tried repeatedly to support them. Their prices increased and the service decreased. Today I attempted to drop off a pre-paid UPS package. I was informed they were now charging $1.00 to drop off pre-paid items. I questioned the fee. The clerk threatened to drop my package. I told him while reaching for my wallet to pay the fee that I would no longer do business with them. I was tired of their rude behavior. He slowly lowered my package, all the while making eye contact and dropped it the last few feet to the pavement. I was in the drive thru and had to pull forward, get out of my car to retrieve my pkg. I knocked on the window , which he didn't open and told them I was reporting them to UPS. He opened the window with his phone pointed at me saying he was recording me. I hope he recorded me telling him I was reporting them to UPS . I have contacted UPS and am waiting for a reply. read more
