Have had nothing but positive experiences with this vendor. They have FANTASTIC "live displays"…read more(aka outdoor showroom) with multiple set ups showing the materials they sell so customers can easily visualize the end product. Patty Silvester is awesome. She has been impressively responsive throughout our shopping experiences. Sent a customer to pick out pavers... he walked out with an almost brand new outdoor kitchen!!! (Although, his wife's eyes looked like they could shoot lasers ha!) that is... until he told her he got EVERYTHING, the grill, mini fridge, cabinetry etc all for $4k!!! (When retail, was about $11k!!) The pavers were great too. And BYL even delivered them down the narrow south end alleyway between abutting brownstones which was rediculously stressful. I thought my jaw was going to fall off. We couldn't even get pick up trucks down there! They brought a forklift on the back of the delivery truck, zipped right down and dropped the pallet EXACTLY where we needed it!!!! Needless to say, very pleased with our experience. Now, had the 2 previous reviewers had more patience, maybe they wouldn't have spent $20-30k on materials but half that AND SCORED SOME! Oh well, their loss - Our gain! We have since gone on to work with BYL for 4 projects. We have gotten to know the team very well. They are responsive to email, pay attention to detail to make sure that nothing is overlooked and when it comes to renovations-- man, even the smallest detail overlooked can have consequences of EPIC proportions. THEY GET IT. THEY GENUINELY CARE FOR THE CUSTOMER AND MAINTAINING A POSITIVE RELATIONSHIP. Love these guys and until they give us a reason to not, will keep coming back.

Great Initial Work - But Refused to Finish the Job…read more Finishing Touch has a very talented crew - really impressive work. Unfortunately, as they seemed rushed to get to other jobs, entire sides of our house were left w/o the 2nd (as contracted) coat of stain. The differences between fully finished sides and the single coat walls are obvious - friends & neighbors consistently point out that the painters "missed a lot"... When we contacted the owner, Dave Depillo, he insisted they had done the 2nd coats. He even claimed the sides above the garage had 3 coats. He'd actually originally made that claim to me the first and only time he was up there. I called to discuss it and have him come meet me to look it over. He arrived earlier than arranged, met my wife instead and proceed to YELL at her about the issue - screaming about saving us money over another estimate. Honestly, we'd rather pay more to have a completed project. A neighbor later mentioned a shouting match Depillo had started when he painted their house a few years back. Also noticed a yelling complaint on the company's Facebook page. Seems to be a pattern with the owner. Lastly, I was just putting up new exterior lights and spotted something on one of the shingles (painted by the owner himself). I looked close and found it had been BROKEN - then TAPED with blue painter's tape and painted over. Funny that a guy can insist on charging $200 to paint shutters (Aren't they part of the house?), break one and then use the cheapest materials to "fix" it and hide the damage. Too bad it turned out this way - the crew were truly talented and conscientious (apart from all the cigarette butts in the yard..) But if they're rushed off one job to do another then the company really can't be recommended.

This was all taking place in November when the weather can sabotage outdoor groundwork, if you can get someone. I went to a stone quarry company and explained what needed to be done in the obstacle course that was my backyard, and they recommended David from True North Masonry to me. "You'll really like him." You'll really like him, was in all fairness an understatement. The way David worked with us, communicated with us, as well as researched and tracked down stone, brick, granite with various sources for/with us was as if he was doing this for himself or his own family. He could have just done what we asked plain and simple. However, he suggested/ added some extras that finished the project off with cleaner lines, utility, and aesthetically. We don't just like him, we really, really like and appreciate him! When we had a question or wanted to change something, it was easy to communicate with him, and never a problem. David really listens to what you are asking him. The way he worked was very methodical and works cleanly. Anytime observing him work, it was clear that his skill level impressive. Did I mention he cleans up everything? :) In addition I just wanted to mention that we especially were impressed the way David employed many so many more skills along with his masonry work . We are really happy with how our multi- faceted project turned out. He worked straight through the November cold, is totally reliable and a gentleman. You get a fair and honest good value from David. He was a pleasure to have him work at our home. So much so, that we look forward to have another project done by him in the Spring. I hope you have such a good experience with your project as we did with ours. All the best, Nancy T.

We could not possibly recommend RK Construction enough. We just completed a large project that…read moreincluded an addition, kitchen and bath renovation, heat pump system install, floor installation and refinishing, painting, and exterior work including new siding and patio. We were continuously put at ease during what should have been a completely overwhelming process by the kindness and expertise from Ralph, Manny, Mike, Tracey, and all their vendors and subcontractors. On top of providing top-tier service and doing beautiful work, RK came in under time and on budget. During the planning phase, Ralph was easy to communicate with, very detailed and patient in his explanations of the process, and presented us with exactly the design we asked for. During the construction phase, Manny served as job supervisor and was onsite every day caring for our home as though it was his own. My husband and I both work hybrid schedules and the bulk of the work was done during our daughter's summer vacation, so at least one of us was always in the way of the work being done. Manny, Mike, and everyone respected our space, cleaned the site daily, and took extra care to accommodate our needs. Manny was a wonderful partner to us throughout the process - he knew when to execute exactly what we wanted and he knew when we were indecisive or overwhelmed and how to guide us. He served as conductor and coordinator of so many moving parts and made it seem smooth and seamless. Throughout the process, we met with vendors for cabinetry, appliances, tile, countertops, and plumbing fixtures as well as their subcontractors for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, tiling, and hardscaping. The respect and admiration each of them had for Ralph and all of the RK crew was evident in talking to them and served as a huge reassurance for us. We solicited quotes from three contractors. RK Construction did not come in at the lowest price. They use high-quality products and their craftsmanship is intentional and meticulous in a way that earns the higher price tag. You will not regret spending a little more when the process and results are everything you'd expect and more.
