I cannot thank MKC Associates--and specifically Tom Berthiaume--enough for the extraordinarily…read morethorough home inspection they conducted on a condo I intended to purchase. Their work quite literally saved me from making a huge mistake. The unit, located in a high‑end Boston property, turned out to be severely neglected and in need of major repairs. Without MKC's thoroughness, I might have ended up purchasing a property requiring immediate and expensive major electrical, plumbing, appliance, and fixture (windows and doors) repairs. Tom arrived early for the appointment, which took place over Labor Day weekend. That level of dedication matters, and I greatly appreciated being able to secure an expert inspection so quickly (literally a few days). The review lasted about 1.5 hours and covered not only the unit's interior but also the building's common areas, the roof, and the exterior envelope. I learned a lot--not just about the unit and its owner, but also about the HOA and the building's overall condition. The report was available the next day, both online as an interactive document and as a downloadable PDF. It was exceptionally detailed, well‑organized, and easy to navigate. MKC posts sample reports on their website, and I can confirm the real report you receive is just as comprehensive and descriptive as the examples. The photos show the actual appliances, fixtures, and features in the property, which makes reviewing deficiencies straightforward. MKC also provides helpful YouTube videos explaining how to access and interpret the report, including a powerful feature that allows buyers to communicate deficiencies and estimated repair or replacement costs directly to sellers. This tool is invaluable for anyone negotiating repairs or credits. The inspection cost--$860.25 in my case--was worth every penny. The unit I was considering would have required major expenditures to make it livable, and MKC's work prevented me from walking into a financial disaster. In summary, MKC is the real deal. Whether you're purchasing a condo or a single‑family home, I strongly encourage you to hire MKC for your inspection. You will not regret it.

Doing a web search, Metro was one of many home inspection companies that had a straight-forward website and online booking. However, what set Metro apart from the others is that they listed the available days and time slots that they had inspectors available. They even had the name of the most probable (subject to change) inspector to make the appointment. That was important because I knew when the home we were considering was available to be opened, and I could quickly line up a day/time that worked out for both sides. After the appointment was set, I was called by one of the staff. She called to "talk me out of" the radon and pest inspection services (extra charge) because of the type of home and area it was located, those services were not valuable. The cherry on top was that for the month, they were giving a "gold" discount on the overall cost. Inspection went as planned and I received the final report by the end of the same day. I never had to state that I needed a quick turnaround, but I get the sense they knew based on the dates of our real estate transaction. Just superb service, and really made me feel I could not get as good of a service with any of the other inspection companies I was considering. If we ever buy another property in the metro Boston area, I'm using Metro 100%!

He arrived at the house before we did, and had filled out all of the necessary paperwork to get the inspection rolling the night before. The inspection itself was incredibly thorough, which was wonderful, because as we went through the house with Harold, it was clear that the house needed more work than we had thought when we made our offer. There were many problems (costly problems that also would have grown into health hazards) he pointed out to us -- but that had been concealed to the untrained eye. Harold emailed us an extremely detailed report later that night with pictures, and clear language and recommendations. We determined that we were not going to buy the house, and we have Harold to thank for helping us to avoid huge issues down the road. Back into the housing market now, which stinks -- but we will absolutely hire Mt. Vernon Inspection Associates when we find the next house!

This review is long over due as I have been using Lenny with B-Sure for almost ten years. I have used him for over a dozen properties, primary residence and investment properties, and I just kept using them because of his thoroughness, care, incredible knowledge, and the most informative inspector that I have ever worked with. A full and detailed report with pictures were sent to me within a few hours! He is as honest and hard working as it gets. A true gem and class act! There was one property, seven years back, that he saved me from purchasing, it was in terrible condition and he was honest. I ended up offering on another investment property, and still to this day, I am grateful and thankful for his generosity, kindness, and honesty as I would have made a huge financial mistake. From several Boston condo's to a suburban home, Lenny was thorough, kind, and honest, each and every time. For TEN YEARS! Now that's consistency at it's finest!!! Most home inspection company's do not care about your purchase, they just want to move on to the next inspection. Lenny genuinely cares! Would give 6 stars if I could! B-SURE IS FANTASTIC! From the secretary to the home inspector, from inception to end, all 5 stars!!! THANK YOU B-SURE!!!!!
