I have had to interact with the guys in the office on perhaps 3 occasions and each time it is a good experience - which keeps me coming back. TODAY I had an issue that needed resolving that could have been handled in a number of different ways - to varying degrees of good customer support and professionalism. I met with RYAN, the manager on duty, and he was totally accommodating, very professional and extremely polite. Don't lose him. He's an asset. I've been a customer of Coastal Car Wash for several years and previously had a monthly membership. Overall my experiences have mostly been positive, which is why this interaction today was disappointing. In the past, employees at both the SR-70 and SR-64 locations told me it was fine to stop in briefly for a quick vacuum without purchasing a wash. I've only done this occasionally and it usually takes me about 5 minutes. Today at the 53rd location, a woman who said she was the general manager told me I had to purchase a wash to use the vacuum. I completely understand businesses having rules and would have gladly followed that if it had simply been explained respectfully. Instead, the interaction felt unnecessarily rude, and the vacuum was shut off while I was using it after only a couple minutes. I later called for clarification and was told that while policies may have changed, it can sometimes depend on the manager's discretion at each location, which explains why I had never run into this issue before. As someone who previously paid for a monthly membership and referred family members here, this experience was frustrating. Part of the reason I canceled my membership before was because supplies were often empty (towels or window spray) and equipment like vacuums sometimes wasn't working. Even today I noticed some stations without towels and nearly empty spray bottles. I still believe Coastal can provide a good service, but customer communication and consistency between locations would really improve the overall experience. read more

I used to be a huge fan until my new 2026 Tacoma was scratched all over the hood and passenger side. I immediately reported the damage and received a claim number. The corporate office tells me there is no timeline for them to make a decision on my claim! That is unacceptable. I had the new truck for about two weeks. This car wash lies to you about the monthly membership and makes it next to impossible to cancel I was offered a 'one time' deal for unlimited car washes for one month That there would be no recurring charge and that I did not need to cancel anything. Went to Coastal Express car wash in North Port, FL and the person at the gate kiosk asked me if I'd rather spend the same amount of money and have the whole month to get car washes. I said sure and for the next three months (until I figured it out) I was charged on my card for car washes which I had no warning about. $75 later I had only 1 car wash and they just kept charging my account without my knowledge. We've been out of town for two weeks and during that time we got a charge from Coastal car wash we drove in today to get it fixed straightened out because our car was nowhere near Coastal car wash, but they refused to give us a copy of receipt said our vehicle had been in there numerous times we only got one discrepancy on our bill though we will not be going back as she refused to give us a car wash to give us our money back. About a month ago I took my Yukon Denali thru this wash and my car was in perfect condition. The hood of my car is now completely scratched up. When I took the car in to be looked at by the manager on duty he claimed that it couldn't of happened there. When I asked if anyone else has had any issues I was told no. I went inside to leave my contact information for the head manager to call me. The story changed and I was told that they already had pictures of my car and that the claim was denied. The guy didn't realize his mistake considering this was the first time I'd shown anyone the damage (so apparently I wasn't the only one this happened to). I did receive a call back from the store manager. Took my vehicle in for him to see and they are still claiming the damage wasn't a result of their car wash. When I asked about the vehicle they already denied he claims they had a issue with their clear coat. So two cars, two hoods damaged and both around the exact same time and neither are their fault!!! The body shop I took it to claims that's not the case. The damage to my hood looks to be caused by a car wash and Coastal Carwash is the only one I've ever used. I hate to have to leave a 1-Star review but I gave Coastal multiple chances to get back to me and haven't heard a word. Went in for one of the mid tier washes and came out with deep scratches in my hood. I know they were from this wash as I had looked over the whole car when doing bug removal prior to pulling in. There was nothing. Right after I see them in my hood. Multiple calls, two voicemails with my contact info, and I haven't heard a word. I understand things happen, but to be completely unresponsive is unacceptable. I will be trying one more time to reach them and then considering a lawyer to pursue their insurance company. First time visiting this drive-through car wash I bought a package for $15 pre-treated my car and scrubbed it down with the bug pre-treat myself in adddution to pre scrubbing the rims. even after going through the car wash my car still had streaks, was dirty in spots, and it scratched my paint. read more

Took my truck to the Pt. Charlotte location to be washed. Came out dirty with birdshit on the hood. Employee refused to run it through again. Brought my newly purchased 2015 Mazda3. Paid $14 for wash and wax. After going through the wash, I went to use the vacuums on the interior and noticed multiple scratches on the driver side door. I love this place! The washes are affordable, it's easy to get in and out of, they have a free prep station for washing all the bugs and crap off the front of your car. The wash is very good. Their vacuums can suck the chrome off a trailer hitch. The only bad part is, I don't live nearby -but I drive out of my way to go there because the wash is that good! read more

This mechanized car wash actually works and works well. It is usually very difficult to get the brake dust off of my son's rims but this machine does it. I did get my kayak mounts ripped off my roof rack but that's my fault. Glad to finally have a car wash that works around here. Also, the receipts have coupons on them. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE! Brand new car was taken through carwash and ripped the antenna fin off the car. Antenna fin was found inside the carwash and management will not cover the repair. Said it was a preexisting issue with the car. The car is brand new. The owner and his son Thomas (manager) do not stand by their product and said you go through our carwash at your own risk. Unethical, unprofessional and do not care about their customers. Another business that doesn't take responsibility and passes the blame elsewhere. Their equipment ruined the hood of my car!!! I will NEVER go through their car wash again! It use to be the only car wash I would go to about once a month. On November 6, 2017 I looked at the hood of my car after having it washed there and there were little white specks on my black hood of car. Their spinner (which they claim is a soft cloth) chipped the paint off. Then at the very back of my car, where the brush/roller device goes down away from car is also all chipped. They, of course ,denied everything and think because my car is 2005 and they have a disclaimer sign up that they are not responsible at all. The owner cant even call me back to discuss the issue, they have Alex , the manager, call me to say its not their fault. So I am doing this to help others and honestly I don't think it was the age of my car. My car was immaculate before this. Don't ever put your car, new or old, through their wash. So I read some of the comments and it looks like I am not the only one this has happened to. I'm working with other media outlets about this and a class action law suit might be a good idea.
