I was in Newcastle at the weekend on a Hen Party with 24 other girls - it had been arranged as part of the plans that we meet at Coast to Coast.
I haven't tried Coast to Coast before, although there is one 5 minutes from my work in Bolton, so i took some time to look over the menu.
They serve mainly american food - loaded nachos, potato skins etc for nibbles and starters to burgers, hot dogs, steak and fries, cajun chicken, pulled pork sandwiches and wraps.
I decided to go for the Jalapeno Cheese Burger - their prime burger topped with Jalapeno Cheese sauce, crispy bacon, mayo, rocket, tomato, red onion and dill pickle. The burger was cooked to medium, pink and juicy and tasted good - but the rest of the burger didn't quite work. I was initially expecting the jalapeno cheese sauce to taste like jalapenos and have a bit of a kick. It didn't. And it was too runny, making the burger incredibly messy to eat. Slightly disappointed, and it probably wasn't worth the £12.95 that i was charged for it. I eat a lot of burgers, and this just wasn't on par with the burgers i would usually eat - but it's as good as you can expect from a chain restaurant.
The fries were good though and i dipped them in the cheese sauce that had consequently covered my plate.
I had a Russian Spring Punch cocktail in here too - this was lovely!
The staff were friendly, as geordies usually are, and they did very well to handle a group of 25!!! read more
