They provide the service they say they will. They get you to the airport so you can catch your flight.

Can't be more thankful to coast cab! We went for a nice walk from the beach to the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay, but ran out of energy to walk back. Despite Uber saying there were cars available 6 minutes away, no one was ever available to pick us up! We called Coast Cab, and the owner drove all the way down from Moss Landing to get us and drop us back at our car for a very reasonable price!! She was friendly, courteous, and communicative, and the car was comfortable and clean. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Thank you!!! read more

We called these guys on NYE to pick us up from the wine shop downtown (where we were pre-bubbling!) and deliver us to the Ritz for dinner reservations. I was kinda nervous about missing our reservations due to some of the previous reviewers, but I figured we'd give them a shot anyway. Not like there's much to choose from in HMB.... Very dependable, and that's important (and often rare) in a cab company! We have used this company twice, and both times they arrived a little early. Drivers are friendly and professional. What a difference from another nearby company whose the car was shabby and reeked of cigarette smoke! We'll definitely use Coast Cab again. read more

Ok experience NYE. Our motel called this service and gave us a card. Driver arrived in 10 mins like he said and delivered us safely to our restaurant. He did try to tell me to give him extra time when we were ready to go back to our motel. Unfortunatley I think he forgot about us when I first called when we got our deserts. We ended up stuck at the restaurant at midnight, which turned out ok since we got a free glass of bubbly. He was probably super busy. To his credit when we called again and he did finally get us (about an hour after my first call) he turned his meter off because he "felt bad" he left us hanging. I still should have tipped him, I'm sorry I didn't. Seemed like he was having a bad night. We likely will use them again if we are in the area and we both want to drink and we don't want to try to find parking in downtown HMB. If he emails me, I'll send him that tip. read more

I called coast cab tonight for a ride to my friend's birthday party-- as the usual local service was having car problems. We agreed upon a pickup time and location, and somehow the cab must have gotten lost-- because he never showed up, and never followed up with a phone call either. All calls went straight to voice mail. Pretty disappointed right now. read more

THE WORST EVER. One jerk tells you it's $25 minimum + ride cost for 5 Mike trip. The next says it's $15 minimum for same trip. The last trip was the WORST EVER. Less than 1 mile (.8 mi) was $25!!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!# Where's UBER when you need them!!! read more

After having an awful experience with a cab company from Pacifica, we tried Coast Cab of Half Moon Bay. We called dispatch and requested a ride in 30 minutes. Our cab arrived exactly 30 minutes later. The cabbie seemed like a surfer dude and he apologized for the ratty state of his ride. The sliding door to the van was broke, but we got to our destination quickly and on time. I would definitely call them again. read more

I called the night before to arrange a ride to SFO and they gave a very good fixed rate. They arrived on time and even brought a larger vehicle to make sure we would fit with our luggage. They gave us a confirmation call about two hours before and even gave a call as they were approaching the house. Very friendly driver. I'd be happy to go with Coast Cab again in the future. read more

Wanted a $20 minimum to give a disabled vet a 8 block ride. Will never call them again.

Wow!! The service shouldn't even have one star. I called in at 8 o'clock to get a cab at 8:30. she couldn't understand me very well so I said I would text her the information on her company number. She said that's fine so I texted her and she never replied and I called her again at 820 to confirm whether they're coming or not then she said well that's not my number. I said ok may I have your cell number so that I can text you my information then she said why don't you call UBER. is this how you run the business? By far the WORST experience I think I have had with any business, much less a taxi service. Not only did they just not show up when they said they would, they lied to us repeatedly saying they were stuck in traffic a mile away. Well we ended up walking that mile they claimed to be stuck in and not only was there NO TRAFFIC JAM the cab was no where to be seen. Mind you, I was 6 inches from the road walking down Hwy 92 with my two small kids so I would have seen it. Sound dangerous? Well it is but we were completely stranded and had no other choice. When I called back for the 5th time asking where the cab was- he simply stopped answering the phone. So I blocked out my number and he answered to tell me again the cab was moments away. This whole debacle lasted an hour and a half and then a kind soul stopped and picked us up. I realize Half Moon Bay has no other choice of cab company but I would seriously think twice before putting yourself in a position where you have to actually rely on them. read more

i actually had one of the best taxi experiences ever with this cab company. i had made a reservation with them a week in advance, and the cab came promptly at the expected time. i had arranged for a flat fare to the SFO airport area, but the fare ended up being less than the flat fare (especially since the taxi driver very kindly turned off the meter once we were in the SFO area, telling me it'd be unfair to keep charging me as the area required a round-about route) so i paid less than expected. it was after i had checked into my hotel and settled in a bit that i realized i had forgotten my cellphone in the taxi! a frantic call using the hotel phone got me to the taxi driver immediately, and he offered to come by the next morning to return my phone. crisis averted! i was very, very pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. read more

The worst. I called on a Friday night at 8:00to get a ride from El Granada to Moss Beach. They were pretty busy and told me it would be an hour. Fair enough. I called back at 9:30 to inquire about my pickup and the clown on the phone told me that it would be another hour. No phone call, nothing except disregard for my time. I called über and they were there in 15 minutes. Thank god for über. Coast Cab is garbage. read more

We used COAST CAB for SFO for my better half - Laura S (specifically) was the driver. She's exceptional, bar none. In fact upon pick-up, she established "hands-on" contact with my 86 year young, better-half at the luggage carousel and called me at home to to re-leave my c0ncerns. I called initially to have them pick us up at Half Moon Bay Lodge at 5:30 for 6:00 reservations at Sam's Chowder House. They did not answer at first but called me right back. I was a little leery after reading some of the reviews but was pleasantly surprised when the woman was pleasant and more than happy to accommodate our request. A few minutes later she called back to see if we could be picked up 15 minutes earlier so she could accommodate another customer. We were fine with the earlier pick up time and she was very grateful for that. A few hours later our plans had changed so I called her back to see if we could switch our time to 7:30 and our destination to The Ritz Carlton and she said not a problem. I reconfirmed the time and the pick up location with her before we hung up. We stood outside the lobby at The Lodge for 15 minutes. I called and left a message and called a second time a few minutes later and still no answer. She never called me back! If you can't pick someone up, just tell them that. If something changes, common courtesy is to call the person and let them know. To not show up and not call is just plain ignorant and not a way to run a business. Never even called to apologize. I would NEVER call Coast Cab if you actually expect to get picked up and taken to your destination on time. read more
