I've been training with Coach Vera for the past year, and I can't recommend her highly enough. Her coaching is grounded in evidence-based guidance, which has helped me understand not just what to do, but why it works. Beyond workouts, she has taught me how to build healthy, sustainable habits that fit into everyday life. What sets Vera apart is the encouraging and supportive environment she creates. She genuinely cares about her clients' progress and makes fitness feel approachable, motivating, and rewarding. Thanks to her guidance, I've become stronger, more consistent, and more confident in my ability to maintain a healthy lifestyle. read more

Working with Coach Vera has been as good for my physical health as it has been for my emotional health. Not only am I learning how to correctly lift weights and exercise in a way that suits my fitness level, I'm also having a great time while doing it. Her and I laugh every single time we have a session...it feels more like working out with a friend, not a trainer, and I love that! Coach Vera is easy to talk to, she is understanding, empathetic, and unwaveringly supportive. If you are looking for a trainer who is kind, meets you where you are but pushes you to where you need to go, Coach Vera is the trainer for you! read more

I've been working with Coach Vera twice a week and the experience has been transformative. As a 64 year old woman who does not like to exercise, I especially appreciate her patient and supportive approach. Since starting our sessions, I've noticed significant improvements in my strength as well as measurable health benefits. My cholesterol and blood sugar levels are now in the normal range. Coach Vera tailors workouts to my specific needs and is always positive and encouraging. I highly recommend Coach Vera! read more

Coach Vera makes fitness accessible, fun, and effective. She helps me make fit choices a part of my every day, especially days I don't see her. In short, she uncomplicates fitness and helps me just do better. Thank you Coach V! read more

When I first started working with Coach Vera, I didn't know what to expect. I have had trainers in the past at gyms, but found the cookie cutter routines and lack of engagement very off putting. But nothing about Coach Vera is cookie cutter or boring! Not only have I achieved the best physical fitness in years, but the mental fitness that has come along with it has been amazing! Coach makes every workout different, has a great sense of humour, and always smiles when she says, "Great, let's do 10 more" when I start grumbling. I cannot recommend Coach Vera enough, 100 out of 5 stars. read more

Vera is knowledgeable, motivating, and very professional. She remembers details to personalize workouts and suggest ways to help clients achieve their goals. Vera is not like any other personal trainer. When I moved to San Diego, I started working with another personal trainer, and did not have a good experience. I felt like the previous trainer was about drastic before and after photos and extreme clean eating to increase her business. When I realized this, I set out to find a personal trainer that had the passion to really help people with making life long change without personal gains. Vera was it. And her psychology background is definitely a plus. Vera had the task to not only tailor the workout for me but also for my husband as we worked out together. She was able to meet his needs as wells as mine. Vera's workouts are designed to continue maximizing fat burning for the rest of the day, build strength, and endurance. They're fun workouts but of course very challenging. There are times I wanted to quit but Vera is so inspirational that I somehow completed the workout when I thought I couldn't. In addition, Vera was able to provide me with workouts when I went on vacation for continuity. She taught me to workout smart rather than long. This fits with my lifestyle and its just realistic to keep up. Vera helped me a lot with nutrition. She helped me trust myself rather than fall for a trendy diet or clean eating. She provided me with resources and books to better my eating but yet be able to enjoy food I love in moderation. read more

My hubby and I train with Vera Ross twice a week. We've been going for about two months consistently. Vera is very professional and a nice person too. Her workouts are complete but always focus on the areas of the body we're interested in. Vera is knowledgeable about the work outs and always teaches us how to do them safely before we dive in. We have a great time working out at True Fit with Vera, and I would recommend it to any of my friends. read more

Can't say enough good things about Vera. I did both the in person 1:1 training as well as her remote program. Health and fitness are clearly more than just work for her, she's passionate about it and it shows in how dedicated and knowledgeable she is. If you're looking for help in understanding and modifying your habits, and finally hitting those goals you've had for a while, or just looking for a good workout, I would highly recommend working with Vera. read more

I've been working with Vera Ross for 1.5 months so far....Over the two years since I got married I had managed to balloon up 13 pounds from 134 to 147... Determined to lose some weight I chanced across Vera after trying a series of bootcamps, zumba, buying a fit bit and other things with no results. I really like Vera's style, she's very friendly and puts you at ease, but she gives you an intense workout. I definitely feel like I actively worked out ...it kicks my butt after I'm done. So I don't feel intimidated but I'm challenged to work hard and have a sense of accomplishment. She also changes up the routine so I'm never bored (unlike being on a treadmill). So far I've lost 3 pounds...yay! read more

Coach V has been my go-to trainer for years and I give her 10 stars! She is motivating, creative and an awesome inspiration. Over the time I've known her, my fitness level has varied and she can always come up with the perfect routine. She even accommodated me by teaching an off-site bootcamp class to my 12 old friends who were visiting for the weekend. She was able to modify on the spot so everybody could do everything and still got a great workout. And she's so much more than a good workout, she's a resource for all things total health and wellness related. If you need a 1:1, small group trainer or overall health coach, Vera and her crew should be at the top of your list! read more

I have been to several other personal trainers and Vera has by far been my favorite. She's the whole package. She stands out for her fun, driven and enthusiastic attitude as well as her authentic investment in each of her clients. Vera is not only incredibly knowledgeable about fitness but also will give you achievable nutrition guidance. She inspires me to keep showing up and never give up. I truly enjoy my workouts with her. read more

Vera is such a wonderful trainer. She always has a fun and challenging workout and really focuses on working all the different muscles to make sure you get a well rounded workout. I love how it is always something new and keeps your body challenged, but also adjust to meet my needs. Also she is very knowledgeable about nutrition and other healthy living tips! I have tried other trainers in the area before I found Vera and she is by far the best. read more

Coach Vera Ross - I really started to noticed great results about just 4 weeks working with her. - Trainers Near Me

Working with Vera will change your life. She is knowledgeable, motivating, and full of positive energy. She is adaptable -- if you're injured, if you're sore, if something isn't sitting quite right during the workout -- she can modify on the fly; she always makes it work. I have also brought family members with very particular physical needs to train with her when they were visiting, and she very kindly created workouts that would suit everyone. She challenges you just enough -- you leave workouts feeling invigorated and accomplished, but not demolished so you still want to return! I have struggled with finding time to dedicate to working out, and she is so patient, helpful, and flexible in encouraging me to improve my consistency and maintenance of my health -- and she always makes it fun. More importantly, she truly cares. She wants you to be healthy across all avenues of life, and she will check in on you and support you in myriad ways -- nutrition, lifestyle, the whole gamut. I am beyond grateful to have found her and cannot recommend her more highly! read more

I was lucky to encounter coach Vera training one of her clients in Balboa Park. Soon after I began working out with her and submitting my daily nutrition data for her review. Her deep knowledge and professionalism do not cease to fascinate me, but also her being always conscious of my particular needs and ailments. I highly recommend Vera as a top personal trainer and health advisor. Mario Beltran read more

I trained with Vera a few years ago to help me reach my fitness goals before my wedding and really enjoyed the workouts with her - they kicked my butt! Even though life got in the way and things got busy I continued to follow her on social media and then she recently posted about the Health Jumpstart Program. I was in the need of a program to motivate me and help me feel strong and healthy for my second pregnancy. I am loving the program - I even decided to extend it another month! The daily home workouts get me sweating and the food prep ideas are super easy and so delicious. She is very professional and knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition. I highly recommend her! read more

I absolutely love working with Vera as a trainer. One of my very favorite things about Vera's training style is that she really knows how to switch up the sessions, I can honestly say I've never done the same workout twice. I've never felt intimidated or judged in any of my sessions with Vera because she encourages you to push yourself but within reasonable boundaries. Vera also has great knowledge of how the body works which allows her to modify workouts (and specific exercises) to work around any injuries/illnesses/etc.. Beyond the workouts, Vera is just such a genuine person who really cares about the people she works with and not limited to their fitness and health goals. She is so supportive, easy to relate to and is super flexible with scheduling. I have been working with Vera for about 8-9 months now and will continue to (hopefully for a very long time) because she is simply the best. Vera is not the trainer that is going to scream in your face to motivate you or kill you with insane cardio or reps that are unrealistic. She is the trainer that will make you feel empowered and stronger through full body workouts and encourage you to embrace fitness as a lifestyle. read more

I've used different personal trainers sporadicly throughout the last few years. Training with Vera has been awesome. Workouts can be innovative but, also classic to work on form if needed. I always wake up sore the next day. If you need help with nutrition as well, Vera is super knowledgeable. Since I've been working out for so long it's great that things are mixed up and have increased difficulty. Scheduling is easy, work outs are hard, and Vera is phenomenal to work with. Definitely recommend trying her out! read more

Vera is my refresh button. She's helping me to reset my fitness goals, but she also helps me to push refresh on a bad day or to turn off any negative thoughts that might be in my head when I walk into the gym. My hour of training is always challenging, and I always leave feeling better than I did when I walked in. After training with her for two months, I am more toned, but most importantly, I'm stronger. read more

Vera is the best! I've been wanting to get back into shape for awhile now, but just couldn't get into working out by myself. I was referred to her by another P.T that spoke very highly about her and I am SO happy she did! Vera is so sweet, encouraging and challenging. I always feel so amazing after working out with her! I highly recommend her to anyone that needs encouragement while working out as well as someone that's going to push you to work out to your full potential! She's AWSOME! read more

Seriously I love this girl! Honesty alert: I don't love working out. I know its good for me, endorphins are fun etc etc but running for a hundred miles or doing a bunch of push ups is not my idea of a fun time. Enter Vera. And working out isn't dreaded anymore. The routine is adjustable if I'm recovering from an illness or injury or any other issue that brings down my energy level. And I can ask her to do more lower body, upper body, abs etc and she truly gets it. I wanted to learn some new techniques but she also taught me that I don't need to kill myself in the gym for hours or starve myself to be healthy and happy. There is a fine balance between it all and that's what I'm getting from Vera. So thank you lady, and for the rest of you, you won't be sorry! read more

It doesn't get any better than Vera. Her warm personality & knowledge of fitness create an amazing environment to reach your goals. This past year has been tough dealing with some health issues that made me need to tweak how I was incorporating fitness into my life. As a former athlete cutting down on intense exercise was difficult. When I met Vera I knew she had my mind, body, and spirit's best interest. She is very specialized and accommodating to personalized plans. I never once left there without a good ass kicking, but it was the kind of ass kicking that incorporated listening to your own body, focusing on correct form, and feeling good. No workout is ever the same, so it never gets boring. Vera's passion for fitness, her client's personal well being , and figuring out what your own personal "fitness" looks like is second to none. I have worked out with many trainers including some that train professional athletes and Vera is #1 on my list. Vera has been my trainer now for about 6 months and the results I have seen are great!!!!! I've dropped 4-5 sizes already. She challenges me to do different exercises and workouts every day we are together, keeping it professional but forming a friendship at the same. Even when we did ouR workouts outside on the grass WITH NO MACHINES, NO GYM, NO EQUIPMENT I saw amazing results. Just me, my body weight, a yoga mat, and Vera. The picture I posted is my shorts then and shorts I managed to fit in to over a month ago. Within a few months all of my clothes were too big. The smaller ones are now big too. So hit up Ms Vera Ross and True Fit!!!!!!! read more

No words can describe how great she is.. i started training with vera around November and shes very flexible when it comes to your training. I was traveling a lot in december for work and she would send me workout videos or routines that i could do while away. She really focuses on form so you learn how to do the exercise the right way and avoid getting hurt. Also, she helps you with nutrition and she's very reachable if you have questions whether is about a particular exercise or meal. read more

Vera is the Best, would give her more stars if I could! Aside from being much less expensive than just about any other trainer I've used or researched, Vera is extremely attentive to my personal needs and goals. After only a few sessions with Vera, I made the decision to cancel my gym membership since the immediate results made it clear Vera's workouts are all I need, and have exceeded my expectations. Her workouts are fast-paced and intense, but not intimidating, and are structured to my individual abilities. In addition to her health and fitness expertise, Vera is very personable and easy to get along with. I've already recommended her to a few of my friends and I personally look forward to working out with her for months even years to come. read more

I am leaving in two days for a sailing trip in the BVI's and I can thank Vera for the great bikini body she encouraged and trained me for in the last several months. I am 43 and would never have gotten the results I did without her on-going positive attitude despite what mood I might be in (sorry, Vera....don't do mornings well). She stuck with me and asked regularly about my diet, which kept me on track as well. Thank you Vera, for the waist that I haven't seen in a year, the drop of two dress sizes, and according to my husband, a fine rear-end. Keep doing what you are doing, you are a great motivator and above all a wonderful, fabulous person! See you after my trip to work off those rum drinks! :-) read more

I've worked out for most of my adult life, mostly running and lifting weights. While it's helped me say at a healthy weight I wanted more...so I started working out with Vera with the goal to really tone up and build upper body strength. Vera pushes me to limits I didn't know I could reach and I'm loving it! Within just a few months I'm noticing a major difference in my body. Areas I've never been able to tone on my own are tightening up and my clothes are fitting better too. I'm also getting stronger. My goal is to do an unassisted pull up and with Vera's help I know I'll reach it! No matter what your fitness goals are I would 100% recommend Vera. You won't be disappointed! read more

Coach Vera is the best...and this isn't hyperbole. I have been training with her since October 2016 (about 6 months) and have gotten stronger and healthier from the inside out. Vera personalizes each individual session just for me. She modifies her training regime on a person by person basis, which maximizes each workout in a way I wouldn't otherwise be able to do on my own. I have worked out in some form or another my whole life. Coach V was the first personal trainer I used more than one session - and there's a reason for that. She cares about what she's doing, she knows how to train you correctly/safely, and she'll get the most of out of you. I'd like to keep her a secret for my own personal benefit, but others shouldn't miss out on her fantastic training program. read more

I have had the pleasure of training with Vera and I couldn't be happier with her. She has positively influenced my eating habits, my fitness, my overall health. She has encouraged me to not only work out and push myself, but to embrace health and wellness as a lifestyle. I asked her to test my body fat and I was frustrated that it was so high (unhealthy) when I thought I was actually pretty healthy. Vera gave me some simple suggestions for meals, we started personal training sessions right away. She was kind and encouraging and told me not to be so hard on myself. I felt so empowered by her positive reinforcement and supportiveness. Her workouts challenge me and are strengthening muscles I had forgotten existed! I look forward to our sessions, as each one is slightly more difficult, nonetheless, I leave feeling stronger and more fit, I love that she challenges me every time we work out. I've started noticing my body changing, little by little I'm becoming more fit and I'm beyond thrilled! I highly recommend her as a trainer, to those who want someone supportive, challenging and empowering. She is amazing! read more

I've continued to train with Vera for strength and conditioning and she has helped me keep on track with my health and fitness goals. She is very knowledgeable on all areas of fitness and can customize any workout depending on your personal goals. She is very formal and always showed up on time for our workouts. She always made sure to follow up with me on the days I was not working out with her or whenever I went on vacation, which helped stay on track. Her new facility is well equipped, clean and even has a shower area if you want to workout during a lunch break. I highly recommend her as a personal trainer. read more

I love Vera and so will you! I have worked with Vera for 5 months now and have grown to consider her a friend. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable, professional, punctual and fit, she is also incredibly kind and supportive of where you are on your wellness journey. I have met with her for private sessions, group workouts and an outdoor session, too! Vera constantly changes things up and is very knowledgeable about healthy eating which is extremely important. As I have recovered from a complicated pregnancy and cesarean section, my fitness abilities had changed. Vera has modified and created specific workouts to increase not only my physical strength, but my functional movement, as well. When I began working out with Vera I physically couldn't do a single sit up and now I am happy to say that I can do a lot!
