Tanger Outlets Ottawa - 2 fave stores, then a quick purchase at Soft Moc

Tanger Outlets Ottawa

Went to Tanger Outlets Ottawa and honestly had a really good time…read more There's a ton of stores and I actually found stuff here I couldn't find online or at regular locations which surprised me. The deals were really good too Old Navy was solid as usual and even Lululemon had that 2 for $100 leggings thing. They have QR codes everywhere so you can just scan and join their rewards/app on the spot and get coupons while you shop which is kinda nice, didn't feel complicated. The vibe was cute too there's like a fire pit in the middle (even though it was sunny lol), music playing, and I swear I smelled mini donuts at one point with some bangers playing lol Also random tip but if you're signed up with Lindt you can get free chocolate bag for your birthday (and like up to 30 days after). Only thing is the food area is super small, like a couple spots, so don't expect a full food court. But honestly you won't really care because there's a lot to walk through. Would go back for sure.

Good selection of stores here. I am not a huge shopper unless I need something so I always go with…read morea purpose. The food court has 4 places to eat... nothing for me tho. Japanese, Subway, Greek... nah but the washrooms inside there are handy and clean. The stores I would normally go are Bath and Body Works for foaming soap and hand sanitizer.. love their candles too. Van Houte maybe for a rare treat. Tommy Hillfiger but nothing fits right as I have an athletic build so... I just look. I love Softmoc, I do have too many shoes and boots but that's allowed! My ultimate spot there is Chilly Chiles as I love hot food/sauces and the staff there are great. I love the kitchen store too but I have wayyyyy too much of that stuff as I love to cook and already have fancy glasses. Mid week is best to go for service and parking - weekends, I avoid.

Kanata Centrum Shopping Centre - This wall of lilacs is why I come to centrum on the long weekend every year.

I enjoy this shopping centre. The stores are spread out…read moremaking it a great place to walk around. For those who prefer there are multiple areas to park and easy navigating to all of these areas by vehicle. The retail places vary with many decent restaurants, most eat in but some take out There is also a Walmart, Loblaws SportChek, Best Buy Starbucks and Chapters. There is a TD bank, Jask SPA and First Choice Haircutters. Oops Landmark 24 theaters is front and centre with great movies There are more that I apologize for neglecting. One stop for shopping, services and entertainment

OMG, this place is a maze. Driving around is a nightmare. It's impossible to know where anything…read moreis. Apparently there is a dollar store here. Have I ever found it? No. It's an outdoor plaza presumably designed by those people who make those "can the mouse reach the cheese" games where there's a mouse on the left side, a bunch of squiggly lines in the middle, and a piece of cheese on the right side. You know what I'm talking about! There are parts of the parking lot where unexpectedly you hit a dead end. So if you entered this dead end looking for a parking spot and there are no empty spots you have to back out. Now it's relatively narrow, so IF none of the cars on either side are parked jutting out of their spots too much, AND you have a really tiny car, you MIGHT be able to 3-point turn your way out. Otherwise, you're backing out, and if 2 other cars followed you into this dead end, well guess what? You're going to have to communicate that you're not a bozo for backing up, but you have to back up because it's a dead end and there are no parking spots, and then you're all going to have to back out. I hardly ever go to any of the stores here because they don't really have anything special. They are all stores that are pretty much everywhere: Walmart, Chapters, LCBO, etc. The restaurants are mostly big chains like Boston Pizza, Montana's, Moxie's etc.. If you live in Kanata, I guess this is your local mall and so you go here. If you don't live in Kanata, I don't think there is a reason to make a special trip out here. If you happen to be in Kanata anyway (like visiting relatives, going to a work meeting, etc.) then I feel the only things worth checking out are restaurants here that don't have a branch anywhere else (e.g. Tomaso's Pizza, RARE Steak House, Aperitivo, etc.).

I just had a really bad experience ordering from their website. I purchased 2 pairs of Nikes…read morereasonably priced. They sent me a shipping number. A week went by and I asked them why only a label had been generated and no further shipping updates. Immediately they cancelled the order instead of just rectifying the situation or re-shipping. Why would I want it cancelled and refunded? I just wanted an update on what I paid for. Bizarre.

Nice selection of footwear, men, women, and children's. It's a large store. They had sandals,…read moreslippers and backpacks. Good prices; virtually everything on sale. Out of the 5 of us who walked in there together, 4 of us came out with footwear! I'd say that's a pretty good average. The only downside for me, anyway, was their selection of winter bootwear - it was slim and not to my taste. They do offer lovely women's boots, leather imitation, that go all the way up to the knee (like horse-riding boots do), very stylish for spring and fall but these aren't warm enough for our -40 winters! So we were talking to the salesman about this, and he said the winter boot selection has improved since they opened, but only after they complained to Head Office! This store has only been open since mid-October, and Famous Footwear is from St-Louis; there are only 3 or 4 Famous Footwear outlets in all of Canada. So, when HQ staff came into town to organize the opening, staff advised them that more and warmer winter footwear needed to be made available. Apparently, HQ staff was a bit perplexed at that, as they did offer little ankle-high boots (similar to those black ones they wore in the Star Trek TV series - "mod-boots"!), which would normally suffice for St Louis winters where it doesn't get colder than -5... Go figure! How lucky are they, eh?! However, based on our success with 4 out of 5 getting footwear on this visit, I will definitely be back.

This mall absolutely sucks. There's no good clothes-shopping stores, and the only things keeping it…read morealive are the Rexall drugstore/pharmacy and the very-little known grocery store. They're building a T&T in it that says "coming soon" on the front windows (visible from Eagleson road), but despite that phrase it has been in construction for the past 3 years, and it looks as if its gonna continue on for quite some time. Overall, this mall is so horrendous I don't think I've ever been to a worse mall in my life. Honestly, it would be more fun exploring it if it was abandoned, but seeing it as it is just hurts my eyes and brain.

I can't believe I haven't written a review of this mall yet. I have literally been to every mall in…read moreOttawa and Hazeldean Mall ranks up there with sad little malls like Westgate Shopping Centre and Lincoln Fields Shopping Centre :( If you are a tourist and looking for places to shop, you will likely be disappointed if you went to Hazeldean Mall. It is not a shopping destination. It is a local mall that residents of Kanata go to to run errands. I think the stores keeping it alive are the grocery store (Your Independent Grocer) and the drug store (Rexall Pharma Plus). They had a Zellers once upon a time which became a Target which at the time of the writing of this review is now just space for lease. Many stores that sell fashions here are geared towards those in their 70s or older (Northern Reflections and Alia N Tanjay). For the younger generations they have Stitches and Claire's and for those in between, Reitmans and Naturalizer. So not exactly a fashionista's dream. The food court here is equally disappointing for foodies. It has a Subway, A&W and an independent teriyaki and sushi place aptly named Sushi Teriyaki (I found the food there acceptable, but not anything spectacular. It was on par with the larger chains like Teriyaki Experience). When I'm in Kanata, I may stop here for some groceries, as they tend to have some good sales at this location. This mall is in the suburbs, so lots of free parking!
