If you are used to shopping in London then you might be a bit freaked out by how friendly they are. The food and deli are all standard. Using my sat nav just to try find a grocery shop and I passed budgens and as I was trying to find a safe place to turn around I happen to find Tesco which to my delight had a big car park which was sign posted very well! So I got a great spot next to the entrance and at first grabbed a basket as I knew this was a small store but just going down one aisle I then decided I needed a trolley as there was more items you can get through this store! I ended up doing my whole weekend shopping which was great for me as I didn't have to venture anywhere else and the queues for the till was very short and staff were very friendly!

There is a good clothing section (although as ever it has a much wider range of girl's and women's clothes than men's and boy's. In addition it has a large homeware / toy / party section. My only issue with this store is that despite a number of designated spaces there are hardly ever any Child and Family parking spaces. This leads me to the dilemma of whether I leave my toddler or baby in the trolley to potentially get run over while I put the other in the car. Many spaces are abused by people with no children and the store appears to do nothing about this. Prices at this store are good. There is also a petrol station which is competitively priced

Don't get me wrong, it's not that they stock expensive food at expensive prices, I've never yet seen Beluga Cavier at £10 a pound, but it's that they stock products that I can get at other super-markets for cheaper, especially with the age of internet shopping on us. The staff are always very helpful though, and the shop has a very relaxed atmosphere about it for a super-market, and you don't feel stressed to the point you just want to charge around the store and get out. Because of it's size, Waitrose offers an excellent range of food, drink, media, and much more, and they're always fully stocked, even with their special offers and promotions.

It's not a huge store, but helpfully it's open 24 hours a day, although you do have to fight your way round the shelf stackers at night. Generally it's pretty well stocked, apart from the odd days around the major holidays where you can find the shelves dreadfully empty. There's a pharmacy, which I've never used, a Tesco Direct counter which works just as it should. The photo shop is always having their machine break down but when it's running the service is actually very good. A word of warning, there's a café tucked away upstairs at the far right of the shop, very easy to miss. I would definitely give it a miss, the breakfast is truly disgusting, and the coffee machine seems to be out of order whenever I go there. It's clean and tidy though.

Due to it's location in Calais this place is popular amongst people who want to get alcohol at a cheaper price than in the UK. Many of the staff speak English well enough to help you if you don't speak much French, and are most polite about it, (I once had someone try to insult me there in English, so I responded by insulting him in French, then he showed me what I was looking for, so it could be a sport there, heh).
