Let me tell you about my experience with CNBC, Cable channel 44 on Charter Communications Cable TV in Northborough and at www.cnbc.com.
They have EXCELLENT BUSINESS NEWS DAILY! Their interviews with superstars like Warren Buffett and Boone Pickens can really give you insight into the market and their stock and sector favorites.
Men and business women will love watching reporting personalities Erin Burnett (love her hair), Sharon Epperson (can't miss her live presentations and Energy Source Blog) and Maria Bartiromo (wall street celeb) with their energetic presentations, articulate market reviews, specials, wit and enternainment perfection. For other GREAT female reporters check out CNBC TV section on CNBC.com.
Gals and businessmen will really enjoy my personal favorite, Jim Cramer for his hubris, energetic and less than humble Mad Money and Stop Trading show and segment that are REAL MARKET MOVERS! Rick Santelli, Bob Pisani, Dylan Ratigan, Mark Haines and my second personal favorite, Pete Najarian (I grew up in Watertown, MA) are all amazing with their charm and market expertise. There are other great and handsome reporters - check out CNBC TV section for more.
Morning CNBC TV watchers will LOVE THE - LIVE - PRE-MARKET TICKER to show how the markets will start out for the day. The CNBC coverage of the FED is timely and expertly covered and reviewed. If you're really good you can gauge the commercials and how they play into the market. Earnings reports can make or break a stock (and sectors) and you'll want to listen to or read (on cnbc.com) the timely updates and reviews of all CNBC Reporters to get the best feel for what might happen and when.
If you watch regularly you'll see that solar and alternate energy stocks tend to go higher when gas/oil goes higher, for obvious reasons. Boone Pickens placed the largest ever wind farm order from GE recently to help fuel the alternate energy CRAZE and he recommends Nat Gas as the way of eliminating our oil import dependencies.
WHAT ABOUT THOSE GAS PRICES? Well, if you're a faithful CNBC watcher you would beg to have them replay an interview with one of the OPEC execs from a year or two ago that addressed that very question. And the answer that billionaire exec gave, and I can only summarize to the best of my memory because I didn't tape it, was that OIL IS A BUSINESS.and if they can raise prices and we pay it, they will do that to give returns to their investors, as all businesses do.
ALSO as a faithful CNBC watcher you might initially wonder why the SEC investigated that couple that profited heavy from the DOW Jones, News Corp purchase offer announcement because that announcement I believe was made on CNBC some time within a month or two previous to the official announcement, made as an unexpanded blurb/spec with that exact price range, of around 60$. I remember because I started research right away after the blurb and I thought it was Ticker: DOW because they never mentioned the ticker. It was pursued and settled as a real insider trading case, but I remember looking into it myself, before the initial announcement ... wish I had actually invested ... But I digress ...
WATCH CNBC or check out CNBC.com and for goodness sake, REGISTER FOR THE CNBC PORTFOLIO CHALLENGE!!!! You COULD WIN A MILLION DOLLARS or any one of the six top prizes or 10 weekly prizes!
ITS SO FUN TO WATCH and if you're REALLY GOOD, TO WIN!
political rant here, beware ...
Oil just hit an all time inter-day high of above 130.00 dollars a barrel on the inventory report from the oil companies that show declining inventories on oil and gas.
WELL, Conspiracy lovers, did you catch Jim Cramer's subtle if not overlooked question to the CEO of the dry bulk shipper CEO at Nordic American (see the details and/or watch the interview here http://www.cnbc.com/id/24709348/site/14081545/) about Iran using Nordic's ships to STORE, NOT SHIP, their oil. Hmmmm. I interpret that as HIGHER INVENTORIES, just they are being HELD BACK. And I doubt Iran is the only one doing this.
So, this wonderful USA Government - why can't we do something about this? More importantly, who in our govt can? read more
