Went here for the first time on Tuesday March 17th 2026 with my mom. Finally time for an ear cleaning appointment! Got there, checked in, and the receptionists there were all friendly and so nice. They even told me to tell the doctor that I wanted my ears cleaned out first before my hearing test- as that what is normally what I do, and I feel that helps me hear better during the test. They also gave me some paperwork to fill out, but it was pretty easy to follow. Before you know it, got called into the office. Even told the nurse the above statement. For some reason, maybe because this is associated with CMC, they took my weight and asked for my height. Never needed that information at prior ENT appointments. Nurse was very friendly though as well. Then it was time to meet Dhruva Kumbhani, who was the audiologist. Now while friendly and nice-- but contradicted my thoughts when he looked into my ears and said it was okay to do the hearing test. Again, what I am used to is getting the earwax removed first. So we proceeded to do the test. To add, they have a newer technology where it is headphones, and the headphones have a bone conductor in them. Never seen this technology before. They were comfortable though. Then the test comes back and it is different than my past test with another doctor, and sounded worse according to the doctor. If you ask me personally, I don't think my hearing has gotten worse, especially with hearing aids. Now he did explain some things but, i personally didn't like what I was hearing, especially since normally I don't feel that way.
After that appointment, we went to Mitchell Isaacs to remove the earwax. Must have waited like about 20 minutes though, good thing I had nothing like work or anything. The nurse came in, was nice, and took my blood pressure. Again when going to the ENT, never taken before. Dr was pleasant, but did keep asking if i noticed any difference in my hearing, and the answer is still a no. Oh, and wasn't told that he was going to be training someone until she came in with him in the room. It's fine, so that people know about my condition, but consent is important. Dr. Isaacs removed the earwax, and laid down while doing it. used the vacuum semi lightly, but wasn't too annoying at all. quick and easy. felt better afterwards too. he also looked in my throat and up my nose. I get it semi because this is a new doctor that i am seeing, but only there for my ears. He also understood my routine in the past, and offered to do the hearing test again. overall pleasant and understanding. Which we did, but only listened to the beeps, and not the word recognition- which i would probably have done better on, since the earwax is removed but anyways. Overall 5 stars for the friendlyness, and 4 stars for the situation. Made an appointment to see Dr. Isaacs on September 17th 2026. While making the appointment receptionist was friendly. At least recommend Dr. Isaacs! read more
