We hired Lauren and her partner for our Western Massachusetts wedding. We wanted someone who was chill and wouldn't stress us out. That's exactly what we got. She and her partner were clever shadows all day -- floating from room to room, sneakily setting up beautiful shots with rings and flowers, yet stopping to poke us whenever they saw an opportunity for an interesting shot. I felt completely at ease with her, and I felt that her photographs perfectly captured the story of our day. We had a space-themed wedding, and it was our dream to have some night photography done (which is typically not an easy feat.) Lauren took note of our wishes, and surprised us with not one but dozens of gorgeous shots of the night sky dotted with stars, complete with Milky Way bands. The only problem we have is figuring out which of her beautiful shots to get framed. I highly recommend LPW if you're looking for a laid-back photographer who will find and capture the art in your wedding day.

Lauren found perfect spots around the hotel to take portraits while also capturing the beauty of the colonial setting as well. At one point there were up to 15 of us (including young children) who she needed to photograph, and she did it effortlessly and was very organized. While that is slightly weird, I was ok with that because I didn't have a printer handy anyways. So, the morning of the appointment (granted I booked the day before), Leanne emails saying that (1) she has no studio just a "space" in her home to take the shots and (2) that she booked someone else in the time slot and had to cancel my appointment. I am fine with the "space" in her house as many amateur photographers need this arrangement. As for double booking and not maintaining a schedule, that is just unprofessional. I almost feel more sorry for the client she forgot about.

Her husband Jaildo came with her to assist and it was so great working with both of them, they are a great couple and gave us a good idea of how to pose for the photos. I cannot lie and say that I have not at one point in my life suffered with low self-esteem and the desire to lose just five more pounds, but when I signed up for the workshop that was definitely no longer the case. Yet, as Sharona and I chatted about different things, and she eventually took my picture I was immediately at ease with her. She brought out things in myself I didn't realize I needed to feel, and when I viewed the finished work the following day I was amazed that she had helped turn myself into true art. Out of all of the people we interviewed, Karman seemed the most enthusiastic and organized about photographing our wedding. It was clear from the beginning that she would dedicate a very high level of care and attention to making sure that we got beautiful photos in the style we were looking for. Karman really went above and beyond to make our photos look great. She made extra trips in advance to our ceremony and reception venues so that she could check out the lighting situation and scope out possible locations for great shots at each. She did a wonderful engagement shoot with my husband and I where she helped us to get comfortable with her style and with getting lots of pictures taken! I'm so happy we did that, because it made us so much more comfortable on our wedding day, and the pictures we got are really spectacular. At our wedding, Karman was all over the place hustling to get tons of fantastic shots of our guests, our venue, and of course us! She was also extremely easy to get along with -- I remember interviewing another photographer who told me she would yell at my family members to get them to stand still for group portraits -- and I was so happy we went with Karman instead. Her and her assistant-- and it was so amazing to have a second shooter-- captured every important moment. Price was a big factor for us, too, as we paid for most of the wedding ourselves, and Karman's wedding package was significantly less than most of the photographers we contacted. She worked with us to make sure what we wanted worked with our budget, and she also spent a good amount of her own time meeting with us before the wedding, doing a walk through at our venue, and arriving earlier than scheduled the day of the wedding. To be honest, I'm pretty disappointed in my wedding photos. They're artistic and there are a lot of candids of wedding guests (like we wanted) but there are pretty much no good pictures of my husband and I where you can actually see both of our faces clearly, with no heads cut off (she cut his head off in 90% of the photos and he's not abnormally tall or anything). We decided recently to maybe frame a few of our wedding photos since we spent all that $ and when we were looking for options, we realized we had none. If I looked great in one, his head was cut off. If he looked great in one, I was sort of blurred out and fuzzy (intentionally I guess). Like I said, they're creative. But there are basically NONE that captured us looking terrific on our wedding day. Terrific scenery, terrific flowers, pretty cupcakes, nice shots of my dress or me having makeup applied, cute flower girl shots, some distant full length shots of us, a nice picture of me dancing with my dad etc. But not one good , close-up picture of me and my husband together. it makes me sad.
